Cotswold Gateway Escape Reviews

"We really enjoyed our stay. The place had everything we needed, from complimentary tea, coffee, milk and spreads to a bottle of wine-such thoughtful touches! Linseys warm welcome made us feel right at home. Definitely would come back!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed the lodge, loved the style and would come back!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"We had an awesome stay! The lodge was spotless, super cosy and kept us warm. The hot tub was a real highlight-so relaxing! Grounds were beautifully maintained. The staff, especially Linsey, made us feel so welcome and went the extra mile. Already booked for New Year, cant wait to come back!"
Jessie - Mar 2025
"Absolutely loved the lodge! It had everything we needed, plus some extras. Were definitely coming back in the future. Highly recommend!"
Alex Morgan - Mar 2025
"Our Cotswold Gateway Escape review: Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back again."
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"We stayed for a couple of nights and honestly, it felt a bit pricey for what we got. The place was comfy, especially the beds and pillows, which made a big difference. The facilities like the hairdryer, iron and ironing board were handy. The sofas were nice, though there were a few light stains. Overall, the place was clean and cosy, but we did find a dirty sock behind the curtain in the main bedroom and a packet of sweets under the twin bed, so a bit more attention to cleaning would help. Still, wed consider coming back!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed the stay, will definitely come back soon!"
Laura - Feb 2025
"Really pleased with everything! Lynsey was super helpful and friendly, making the whole experience really smooth. Thanks so much!"
Emma - Jan 2025
"We had a lovely time! Lindsy was super helpful and made everything easy. The place was spotless and just right for our dogs, with a garden for them to run around. We relaxed in the hot tub with some drinks. Definitely coming back next year, cant wait! Would recommend to everyone."
Emma Clarke Udog9887766 - Nov 2024
"We've just finished our second trip here and honestly, its been really lovely. The staff are super friendly and the lodges have everything we could need. Weve already booked for next year, cant wait!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The modern decor was lovely and having two bedrooms with en-suites was a big plus. The hot tub was fantastic too!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We keep coming back here because its just lovely. The lodge is always spotless and the setting is so peaceful, perfect for escaping the busy routine. The staff, especially Vito and Lindsey, are genuinely friendly and really make an effort to make sure we have a good time. Its definitely our go-to retreat!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We had an amazing stay at this lovely cabin! Honestly, its spotless and the little details really make a difference - everything was thought of, which made our trip super relaxing. The privacy was perfect, with our own fenced garden and the hot tub was a real treat, kept to such high standards we felt confident using it every day. The beds were comfy and the heated flooring was a nice touch, especially in the mornings. The bathrooms shone and the cosy living room made us feel right at home. We spent our days exploring the Cotswolds and enjoyed some fantastic meals at the local pubs within walking distance, including one by the river that was truly stunning. Vitos place is simply brilliant and we wouldnt hesitate to come back. If youre looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts, this is the spot!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge! Its super warm, spotless and well-equipped. The full-size fridge freezer was handy, especially with the welcome fizz! Everything you might need is there - washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and even tea towels and cleaning supplies. The towels, robes and slippers for the hot tub made it extra special. Theyve thought of everything, including throws and dog treats for our furry friend. Honestly, it made our break so much better. Would definitely come back!"
Claire - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and very welcoming."
James - Mar 2024
"We had a really lovely stay at the lodge. Perfect for those wanting peace and quiet, with helpful staff and nice fencing."
Emma & Liam - Mar 2024
"Absolutely loved our stay! The lodge was beautifully spacious and spotless, with little touches that made it special. Coming on Mothers Day weekend, we found a chocolate heart on the bed and a bottle of fizz in the fridge-such a nice touch! The hot tub was ready and warm when we arrived and the plastic wine glasses were handy. Well definitely be back!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"Honestly, I dont often bother leaving reviews, but this place really impressed us. The lodge was massive and beautifully decorated, super clean all over. It felt really homely, especially with little touches like a bottle of Prosecco and still and sparkling water waiting in the fridge when we arrived-those small things make all the difference. The kitchen was well-stocked with teas, coffees, jam and even a dishwasher with tablets included. Bathrooms had hand wash and there was enough toilet roll for the whole trip, plus baking foil, salt, pepper and cooking oil - everything we needed. We usually stay in caravans, so this was our first lodge holiday and we appreciated not having to bring all these bits ourselves. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The hot tub was definitely a highlight for us all. Wed love to come back again for sure!"
Alex - Feb 2024
"The place really hits the spot for us. The location is perfect and Lindsay, the manager, is always there to help without any fuss. Our dog loves the big garden and the nearby walks. The lodge is modern, well-equipped and just a great spot for a relaxing break. Well be back!"
Sarah - Feb 2024
"We had a fantastic time at this lodge! Its super modern, really spacious and spotlessly clean. The underfloor heating kept everything cosy and the kitchen had all the gadgets we needed. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day, especially with that complimentary fizz to enjoy. Our dog loved the large, secure garden-he was in his element with bowls, treats and a comfy blanket provided. Linsey was lovely; she greeted us on arrival and was available if we needed anything, which made a big difference. Overall, a brilliant stay - wed definitely come back!"
Charlotte - Feb 2024
"Honestly, this was the nicest lodge weve stayed in so far. The private gated area makes it super safe, perfect for families or couples just wanting some peace and quiet. We booked the Oxford for 6 but only had 3 of us plus our little one, whos 20 months old - so he had plenty of space to run around. The decor was genuinely lovely, couldnt fault it at all. The staff, especially Lindsey, was so friendly and down-to-earth, like wed known her forever. She was always available if we needed anything, though luckily we didnt. The lodge was fully stocked with all the cutlery, pans and even BBQ bits you could ask for. The nearby corner shop has everything too, just a 10-minute walk away. The whole place was spotless and everything worked perfectly for us. We loved it so much that weve already booked again. The garden is stunning and everything on site is kept in top condition. Definitely a place well keep coming back to!"
Harriet - Feb 2024
"We had such a lovely stay at this cosy little cottage. Its tucked away enough for peace, but still near shops and cafes when needed. The hot tub was a real highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome!"
James - May 2025
"We loved the cosy vibe, especially the log burner and hot tub. Hosts were super friendly! Cant wait to come back for a longer stay."
Lucy - May 2025
"The place was stunning, super clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was the highlight!"
Jessie - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay at this charming cottage! The hosts were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us with everything. The place itself is adorable-lovely half-timbered design, super clean and really cosy. The powerful shower and comfy bed made our stay even better. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus. Plus, the walks around the fields to Thaxted were perfect for a relaxing day out. Would definitely recommend!"
Oliver - May 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The hosts were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!"
Emily - May 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay here, the garden was perfect for the dogs and super secure too."
Harper - May 2025
"We had such a wonderful, chilled-out stay. The cottage was spotless, well-stocked and came with some really nice little extras. Highly recommended!"
Emma - May 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay here; the place was lovely and were definitely planning to return soon!"

Spetchley Park and Gardens in Worcestershire are the perfect place for a day trip all year round. During the summer months the gardens are really at their best with beautiful displays of flora and fauna. Many families choose to bring a picnic and there are several picnic tables in the grounds. The deer park is also a big hit with children as well as grown ups. The onsite tea room serves tasty sandwiches and cakes and uses local produce where possible.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP

This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.

Ash End House Childrens Farm -
about 32 Miles
With family fun for everyone a trip to this farm makes a memorable day out in Staffordshire.  Some highlights of the day might include the chicks and ducklings in a basket, goat kid walking, bottle feeding the lambs or bunny brushing.  Located in the Tamworth area of Stafforshire this attraction is easy to get to.  Look out for special events taking place throughout the year including weekend and school holidays when extra activities may be organised.  Don't forget to meet Chirpy while you are there - the extra large chick!
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 34 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Queenswood Country Park - HR6 0PY

about 36 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 36 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 37 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB
about 37 Miles
Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle.
