Lower Tundridge Cottage is a luxury converted farmhouse in Suckley, Worcestershire. This spectacular property sits within the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. While not technically a 'lodge', we had to include it here as it's just a fantastic property (check out the pics!) Its a stylish conversion of a farm building that was once used for hop and grain production. The great upside-down design showcases original features like exposed oak beams and an authentic hoist wheel.

The countryside location offers peaceful surroundings with beautiful rural views all round. A 10-minute walk takes you to the local pub and shop and the enclosed garden provides a safe space for up to three well-behaved dogs. Guests can enjoy alfresco dining on the patio while taking in the stunning landscape. This accommodation is ideal for large groups of up to 16 guests over six lavish bedrooms (four downstairs and two upstairs family rooms).

Lower Tundridge Cottage Reviews

Theo - Apr 2025
We had a fantastic weekend a reunion with friends. The Kitchen and outdoor areas were the stand out. The kitchen was really well stocked with enough cooking equipment, glasses, mugs and crockery and the large table was a great social space. The lounge area offered a really comfortable place to relax with everyone. The owners were super helpful and ensured we had everything we needed, they were also really responsive to questions emails we sent them. Would highly recommend Lower Tundridge Cottage the immediate surroundings are beautiful.
Evelynne - Apr 2025
This house is in a rural location and has everything needed for a great break. We were a family from 4 yr olds upto late 70's and we all had a great time. Plenty of room for the kids to play and the adults to chill. The little touches of sweets for the kids and wine for us was so welcoming. We did an ocado order and had a Indian takeaway delivered. Spent time exploring the Malvern hills and the priory gardens. If you want a large family getaway this is the perfect place.
Amy - Mar 2025
We had a fabulous time at the property! There were 12 adults and we all sat comfortably in the lounge and kitchen area. The large dining table was amazing for our games night and meals. We also throughly enjoyed the hot tub. There was plenty of utensils, plates, glasses etc. We would recommend a couple of tweaks to make the stay perfect1 although the information was sent to the person booking, it would be helpful to have a folder of info like how to work the heating, WiFi, bins, oven etc2 thicker pillows on the beds 3 a few more cushions for extra comfort on the sofas and chairs round the table. I would definitely recommend this property for get togethers for a relaxed trip away.
Fiona - Mar 2025
Absolutely beautiful home for family time away with everything we needed. Always a challenge to find the right property for a large family group definitely got it right this time! Plenty of space in a gorgeous part of the world. Communication with owner was excellent. Highly recommended!
Angela - Dec 2024
Very welcoming with lights music heating and Christmas decorations. Excellent facilities. Good shared space. Plenty plates glasses cutlery etcSome beds would benefit from mattress toppers to improve comfortHob unfortunately did not work as efficiently as should a couple more saucepans would have been useful!! Hot tub was too chlorinated some people had skin reaction also one costume bleachedOverall we had a great visit but would like others to benefit from our feedback.
JAYSEL - Aug 2024
Overall the property was great in a nice remote location. I feel however the property does need some TLC and after reading reviews online agree with other comments such as Tiles in the kitchen and certain bathrooms needs grout repairs and cracks on many of the times we had a 7 month old which we didn't feel comfortable to leave on the floor and crawl Standard utensils etc we would have expected were not there e.g. spongedishwasher tabletsbroom. We were told we had a broom when it was a mop Cot requested was not put out but was sorted straight away, appreciate human errors occur Cleanliness of towels to be improved, a few had marks on Lot of cob webs around the property and cleanliness overall we felt was poor. Most of the party spent the first couple of hours cleaningWe have used Rural Retreats for 18 years and for the first year used Sykes but can say we will not be using Sykes again based on our first experience.
Andrew - Aug 2024
We had an issue with two of the beds breaking and some of the party had to sleep on the sette. Overall the property is in need of refreshment broken cracked tiles on the floor upstairs, broken tiles in the round bedroom in the shower, the heated towel rail in the round bedroom all the paint was flaking off.Its a lovely place but now needs refreshment I was quite disappointed for the money we paid.
Keri - Aug 2024
A super venue for a large group plenty of space and a really lovely communal living area. We were a family of 16 the 8 children, aged from 3 to 18, loved the mezzanine floor!Mo and Edwin were very helpful and responsive.
Helen - Jun 2024
The house was very nice but in many of the bedrooms and windows sills there were lots corners with cobwebs and spiders. The window also needed cleaning inside and out. This didnt spoil our weekend. One other suggestion 5 bathroom for what could hold 16 people. More toilet roll please. One in each is not enough and we found ourselves running out.
Eloise - May 2024
We had an amazing time at Lower Tundridge Cottage! All of the extra flourishes like the hot tub, steam shower and mezzanine made this place an unforgettable stay. The rooms are all very equally sized which meant no quibbling about whod be in each room, and they were all clean and comfortable. We had a slight issue with adjusting the heated towel rail temperatures down on a very hot day, but after emailing Mo, he sorted it out remotely. It was then a perfect temperature and very cool in the rooms at night. The cottage is a 30 min walk to a great brewery which does pizza on Saturdays, and there were plenty of footpaths to explore around the area.We think well be back some day!
Alison - Mar 2024
The property was situated in lovely area with many fantastic walks right on the doorstep. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. It was very well equipped for a large family of 14 to celebrate a birthday with ages from 8 to 73 and 3 dogs. There was plenty of room for all, we particularly liked the large dining table and huge hot tub which we all made good use of. The kids all loved hanging out in the mezzanine above the kitchen. We walked to the next local pub off road which was very hilly and muddy but very picturesque with beautiful unspoilt views the whole way which certainly gave us a thirst. Take wellies walking boots. The property is quite remote but we liked that and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The nearest local shop is 10 minutes drive away so we went prepared and it wasnt a problem. We also had a lovely Indian takeaway delivered to the property. Property would maybe benefit from a few games etc. We took our own. The owner Mo came to check the hot tub and was friendly and helpful. Everyone of our party thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would recommend a stay here.
ia - Dec 2023
We really enjoyed our stay and the house was very beautiful, There was no bin bags or surface spray left so we could clean, normally we leave the house sparkling but unfortunately we only could clean things to a certain point. Having no bin bags left the kitchen slightly feeling dirty as we were piling up rubbish before transferring it downstairs. One person bought one bin bag to put their dirty clothes in and we filled that up and re used it a few times We needed more loo roll, especially in the communal bathrooms, as we were left short and couldnt find anywhere open on New Years Day to replenish it. A few people complained that the beds might need new mattresss but all in all, we loved staying there, and would love to come back. The house was very well equipped for cooking and hosting dinner parties. Thank you for the Prosecco and how beautiful and festive the house was decorated
Rebecca - Nov 2023
A truly wonderful place to get the whole family together the spaces work really really well well all managed to get round the huge lead topped table and fave prizes to the people arriving if they could guess what the table had been in a previous life. . a little clue 6 of us were born in Sheffield so we had the head start .
Gary - Nov 2023
Lovely property for a large group. We were a group of nine and had plenty of space for a great weekend stay. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the huge dining table which was ideal for large family meals.
Chris - Oct 2023
Cottage very tired and in need if updating. General cleanliness poor, under bedsfurniture very dusty..months of dust. The showers all had problems with lack of cleanliness.Bed linen and pillows worn. Big yellow stainn on our mattress and lots of human hair. This was only discovered when we stripped the bed on leaving. One sofa in lounge had to be propped up by a piece of wood. Dining chairssome where unsafe and unstable. 2 TV's did not work. Towels were not provided for the jacuzzi and this was not stated in the brochure. We were very disappointed with our half term break and the response from the owner and Sykes Cottages.
Ashlee - Sep 2023
We had a fabulous stay here for my 30th birthday weekend. The house was more than big enough for what we needed. We hired a cocktail making master class and the kitchen could not have been a more perfect set up for this activity and the host was very complimentary. The hot tub was a great size for the group and everyone had a brilliant time. Would definitely recommend.
Stephanie - Sep 2023
Fantastic property, perfect for our girls get together. Spacious, lovely living space and snug area. Loved the disco shower! Hot tub was particularly great for our group and got lots of use. Would happily stay again with a big group.
Lorna - Sep 2023
We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the barn in early September and couldn't recommend it enough. Its even more beautiful in person, the pictures don't do it justice! The rooms are a great size, beds are comfy and the open plan space upstairs is perfect for cooking up a storm or chilling on the sofas. The garden is enclosed and feels private, not overlooked at all. Also there is an extra fridge downstairs so loads of space if you're bringing a food shop. Thanks so much for having us, we will definitely be back!
