Bockenfield Country Park Reviews

"great place to stay for a visit to Northumbria. comfortable, relaxing and close to sights."
Siobhan - Apr 2019
"We'll be back....."
Dorothy - Mar 2019
"Great van beds a little soft for my liking but clean tidy and well equipped"
Christopher - Feb 2019
"Fantastic time & will return to this site without hesitation."
Jacqueline - Oct 2018
"Caravan was beautifully presented upon arrival. Great position, first impressions were bed linen crisp and clean, perfect addition was the pristine white fluffy towels. Toilets appeared very clean too however the cooker, fridge and living area were not as good. The light fittings were halloween ready, the fridge and cooker were very dirty and the windows were dirty. All the problems I read on trip adviser were true. With a good clean this is a wonderful caravan. The hot tub was fabulous, we had a problem one day with it but the lady who manages the park came while we were out and dealt with it which was greatly appreciated, because of this we thoroughly enjoyed our trip!"
Beverley - Aug 2018
"A most enjoyable holiday"
Eunice - Jul 2018
"Great quiet site to relax with kids, caravan was great, hot tub kept kids entertained, plenty places to visit in surrounding area."
Duncan - Jul 2018
"Excellent caravan, friendly staff, conveniently placed above Morpeth."

"Excellent few days spent here, fabulous weather and great location for getting around."
Carol - Jul 2018
"Lovely holiday and booked again for same site"
Mandy - Jun 2018
"Our accommodation had been changed on our arrival to a newer, slightly larger Lodge. We understood this to be because of works going on around where we were going to be. Our 'new' lodge was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed being there."
Lorna - May 2018
"The best holiday I have had for some time."
Helen - May 2018
"Well equiped. Clean . Comfy."
Hilda - Apr 2018
"fabulous caravan had all amenities even a ensuite !!"
Amanda - Apr 2018
"Brilliant! Had everything we could have ever needed! A home from Home, even better with a supply of towels and bedding. Nice shower and brilliant heating!"
Beverley - Dec 2017
"Great, enjoyable and would go back."
Julie - Oct 2017
"A great short break."
Daniel - Sep 2017
"Great place to stay lovely caravan the bed in the main bedroom was a bit too bouncy for me but other than that excellent"
Sarah - Aug 2017
"The holidaywas lovely,it was for my mums 80th.when we arrived the lady on reception (who was really lovely) put flowers and a card in the caravan.yes they are building it up,and yiu take the weather,! but overall lobely.we booked to go again in October."
Stewart - Jul 2017
"This year we had decided to sacrifice the kids clubs/entertainment for the spa. It did not disappoint. The spa however could have done with a step to allow easier access.
Ideal location to explore the surrounding area and perfectly quiet.
Our caravan was clean although lacked a few essentials including a veg peeler, hooks to hang towels. Also felt that having 3 young children we were right next to the burn (which we knew about) but there was no fence. It got very high due to the rain.
Ironically our caravan was named Ruby which is the name of our daughter."
Denise - Jul 2017
"We love Northumberland it was a good quiet site and good base to get to places as you were next to the A1."
David - Jul 2017
"Great see above comments."
William - Jun 2017
"Clean and very comfortable caravan situated by a small beck. Only let down was the lack of a microwave and limited crockery. Only three beakers and no teapot or milk jug in a caravan for four not ideal. Outside furniture rather old but enjoyed sitting out catching the evening sun. Would come back again. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
Janice - May 2017
"fitted the bill for our stay"
Lois - Apr 2017
"clean and nice balcony"
Lin - Apr 2017
"The caravan was very clean, staff very helpful and location great for a quiet getaway. Would definitely recommend!
The only thing we found that could have been better is that the hot tub was not hot enough for our arrival and we had little pans and utensils for cooking. Although we did mention this upon leaving and the manager did advise that he is looking to address these issues due to him being new to the post."
Kayleigh - Apr 2017
"Although it was an older caravan it was spotless inside with nice clean bedding, the heating had been left on so very cosy. We hope to go back again to explore the area more."
John - Nov 2016
"Very nice caravan. Lovely and comfy with all mod cons one could possible need."
Susan - Oct 2016
"Comfortable accommodation and it is always nice to come home to."
David - Sep 2016
"This was our first stay in a trailer and we loved it. The fixtures and fittings were fresh and modern made our holiday comfortable and the heating in the trailer made it cosy after a long day's exploring. There was tonnes of space and everything was beautifully clean when we arrived."
Claire - Sep 2016

Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 7 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 9 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 18 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 32 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ
about 38 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
