"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot. The setting is super private and peaceful, yet the owners are so friendly and nearby if you need anything. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us after a couple of hours, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a great place to unwind!"

"We stayed at this place during a chilly December and honestly, the house was perfect-warm and cosy, just what we needed. The bath was amazing after a long day and the shower was spacious. Its true, its near a flight path, but honestly, we didnt notice any noise at all. Great for dogs, especially those scared of fireworks, being so remote. Lovely spot all around!"

"We recently stayed at this place with a small group, including a couple of friends. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and professional, with all safety measures in place, which we appreciated. The cottage itself is huge - honestly, its perfect for relaxing or even as a base for exploring Lincoln. The kitchen is super well-stocked, making it easy to cook up a storm and the living areas are spacious and bright, which was lovely. Theres also a cosy den off the kitchen, handy if you need to keep the kids out of the way or just want a quiet spot.The downstairs bedroom had what looked like a Super King-sized bed, with a clean bathroom just next door-really handy. Up the stairs, theres a double room with a cracking view over the pond, which we loved waking up to. The second bedroom, a twin, was comfy and served its purpose perfectly. Both upstairs rooms are en-suite, which is a big plus.The heating system works like a charm, so no worries about chilly nights. We found the place ideal whether we just wanted to relax or head out for walks around the area. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy, but honestly, that didnt bother us. Were old enough to remember when Wi-Fi wasnt the main event, so we enjoyed chatting, watching TV and having a few drinks instead. The staff were friendly and check-out was quick and hassle-free. Our deposit was refunded immediately, which was great. For the price we paid-three nights-it was totally worth it. Were already planning to come back. Couldnt fault anything really, the location or the staff. Definitely a place to recommend!"

"We had a lovely stay in a charming lodge. John was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The area was beautiful and the lodge was quite roomy for just the two of us. Definitely recommend!"

"Honestly, we had a really lovely stay overall, even if there were a few little quirks. The Barn Owl lodge was just as gorgeous as the pictures, with a peaceful vibe and a lovely view over the lake. Its nice that its spaced out from other lodges, so you dont feel cramped at all. The place was pretty clean, though we did have to give the vacuum a quick go near the sink and toilet - bit of an oversight, but not a biggie. The staff really made the experience; they were so cheerful and friendly, which made everything feel a lot warmer. The location is pretty quiet and a bit remote, so dont expect much in terms of local shops nearby - we just got a Tesco delivery to the site, which worked perfectly. For activities, the kids loved riding their bikes and there are some lovely walks around, plus a tree swing thats a shame to hear is coming down soon. The huge field with horses is a lovely sight and the back trail makes for a good 2-3 mile run. A couple of small suggestions: maybe give the keys coloured dots so its easier to tell them apart - playing key bingo is a bit of a pain! Also, a bit more care in cleaning the bathrooms would be appreciated and some simple instructions for the dishwasher would help - that button with the house and pound sign confused us at first! Overall though, were already booked again, so it definitely left a good impression!"

"We had a great stay in Barn Owl, the lodge is beautiful and really well looked after. They work very hard to make sure that your stay is great, and there attention to detail is to be applauded. Wonky garden bench outside on veranda. Otherwise excellent accommodation in extremely quiet surroundings with a nice view of the pond ducks and geese. A few rabbits running around early morning."
