The site offers a selection of cottages and log cabins that are ideal for a restful escape. We love the Osprey - this stylishly designed lodge sleeps up to four guests in two comfortable bedrooms. The lodge has a spacious open-plan living and dining area and a roaring fireplace in the living room, perfect for warming up after a long day of exploring. The modern exterior boasts sleek wood panelling and a raised outdoor decking, topped off with a private hot tub where you can enjoy the glorious views of the area.

Only twenty minutes down the road is the historic city of Lincoln, with plenty of attractions and places to explore. Be sure to stop by the glorious Lincoln Cathedral, or the impressive Lincoln Castle, and admire the stunning architecture of the city. Step back in time at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, or take a wander down Steep Hill with a charming selection of 12th-century homes. There are plenty of country parks and gardens in the area to explore, such as Doddington Hall and Gardens with acres of manicured land, or Whisby Nature Park, with an array of wonderful wildlife and beautiful scenery to discover.

Camper UK Leisure Park Reviews

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot. The setting is super private and peaceful, yet the owners are so friendly and nearby if you need anything. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us after a couple of hours, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a great place to unwind!"

"Really enjoyed our visit, staff was friendly and the place was cozy!"
Julia - Nov 2024
"We stayed at this place during a chilly December and honestly, the house was perfect-warm and cosy, just what we needed. The bath was amazing after a long day and the shower was spacious. Its true, its near a flight path, but honestly, we didnt notice any noise at all. Great for dogs, especially those scared of fireworks, being so remote. Lovely spot all around!"
Ellie - Sep 2024
"Really loved the place! The lodge was modern and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen too. Having separate bathrooms in each bedroom was a big plus, making everyones stay more comfy. The private hot tub was spotless and a real treat after a long day. Definitely somewhere wed visit again!"
Sophie - Aug 2024
"Overall, we had a lovely stay. The beds were super comfy, but unfortunately, the sofas werent great for our bad backs. Definitely a bit of a let-down after a good experience overall!"
Pauline - Aug 2024
"We recently stayed at this place with a small group, including a couple of friends. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and professional, with all safety measures in place, which we appreciated. The cottage itself is huge - honestly, its perfect for relaxing or even as a base for exploring Lincoln. The kitchen is super well-stocked, making it easy to cook up a storm and the living areas are spacious and bright, which was lovely. Theres also a cosy den off the kitchen, handy if you need to keep the kids out of the way or just want a quiet spot. The downstairs bedroom had what looked like a Super King-sized bed, with a clean bathroom just next door-really handy. Up the stairs, theres a double room with a cracking view over the pond, which we loved waking up to. The second bedroom, a twin, was comfy and served its purpose perfectly. Both upstairs rooms are en-suite, which is a big plus. The heating system works like a charm, so no worries about chilly nights. We found the place ideal whether we just wanted to relax or head out for walks around the area. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy, but honestly, that didnt bother us. Were old enough to remember when Wi-Fi wasnt the main event, so we enjoyed chatting, watching TV and having a few drinks instead. The staff were friendly and check-out was quick and hassle-free. Our deposit was refunded immediately, which was great. For the price we paid-three nights-it was totally worth it. Were already planning to come back. Couldnt fault anything really, the location or the staff. Definitely a place to recommend!"
George - Aug 2024
"We had a lovely stay. The place was peaceful and spotless, hosts super friendly, hot tub fantastic and the enclosed garden perfect for our dog. Really enjoyed it!"
Lisa - Jun 2024
"We had a fantastic stay at this cosy leisure park. The cabins are spotless and really pretty, making it a lovely place to unwind. Its super peaceful, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle. Our dog loved the big field behind the cabin, plenty of walks. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Were definitely coming back!"
Elizabeth Harris - Jun 2024
"We had a lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert made us feel right at home, which was great. The place was spotlessly clean, cosy and secure for our dog Archie - he loved it! The location couldnt be better, with loads of nice walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are charming spots to explore. We definitely felt refreshed after our week away and really enjoyed the relaxing break!"
Charlotte - Jun 2024
"This place was fantastic! The lodge was gorgeous and the location really peaceful. The owners clearly care about their park and the area. Were already planning our return for next year-its that good!"

"We had a really nice time at Oyster Catch Lodge. The location by the river was perfect for fishing and relaxing. The lodge itself was cosy and warm, making it a lovely place to unwind. We also took day trips to Lincoln and Newark. Definitely planning to return soon!"
Sarah - Jan 2024
"We had an awesome stay at the lodge! Its super luxurious and really well-equipped, perfect for our family with two bathrooms and big bedrooms. The large windows offer a lovely view of the lake and parking right outside made everything so easy. Definitely a great experience!"
David - Dec 2023
"Great stay, would definitely return"
Simon - Nov 2023
"We had a really enjoyable stay at this lovely spot. The setting is beautifully private and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The owners were super friendly and always nearby if we needed anything, but it still felt very secluded. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling-such a treat! One thing to note is the noise from planes overhead since its right under Stansteds flight path. It took us a little while to get used to it, but honestly, it didn't ruin our trip at all. Definitely worth a visit!"
Harvey - Oct 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the cabin was perfect and well-equipped, definitely coming back soon!"
Martin - Jul 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the week flew by way too fast!"
Samira - Jun 2023
"We had a lovely stay in a charming lodge. John was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The area was beautiful and the lodge was quite roomy for just the two of us. Definitely recommend!"
Alexandra - Aug 2020
"Honestly, we had a really lovely stay overall, even if there were a few little quirks. The Barn Owl lodge was just as gorgeous as the pictures, with a peaceful vibe and a lovely view over the lake. Its nice that its spaced out from other lodges, so you dont feel cramped at all. The place was pretty clean, though we did have to give the vacuum a quick go near the sink and toilet - bit of an oversight, but not a biggie. The staff really made the experience; they were so cheerful and friendly, which made everything feel a lot warmer. The location is pretty quiet and a bit remote, so dont expect much in terms of local shops nearby - we just got a Tesco delivery to the site, which worked perfectly. For activities, the kids loved riding their bikes and there are some lovely walks around, plus a tree swing thats a shame to hear is coming down soon. The huge field with horses is a lovely sight and the back trail makes for a good 2-3 mile run. A couple of small suggestions: maybe give the keys coloured dots so its easier to tell them apart - playing key bingo is a bit of a pain! Also, a bit more care in cleaning the bathrooms would be appreciated and some simple instructions for the dishwasher would help - that button with the house and pound sign confused us at first! Overall though, were already booked again, so it definitely left a good impression!"
Jamie - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, the hot tub was definitely the highlight!"
Alex - Jul 2020
"We had a very relaxing enjoyable weekend. Lovely peaceful site. The lodge that we stayed in was very nice and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Staff friendly and helpful."

"We have just recently had a week's stay at this site in Lincoln and it was the most relaxing enjoyable time. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the site itself was stunning and immaculately kept. We will definitely be returning"

"We had a great stay in Barn Owl, the lodge is beautiful and really well looked after. They work very hard to make sure that your stay is great, and there attention to detail is to be applauded. The lake is full of fish and I caught some great carp, all in great condition. Thank you both for a lovely peaceful stay - we will be back!"

Andrew - Jun 2022
"Lovely lodge that was well equipped and spacious. Welcoming friendly staff. Great surroundings for dog walking. We could not get internet (which was not a bad thing). Fishing was good. We loved the whole experience."
Barbara - Jun 2022
"Very private, beautiful surroundings made beautiful with the sunshine. Over looking the lake with plenty of carp. Very peaceful with ducks, rabbits and bird's. We really enjoyed ourselves. Very friendly and professional staff."
Jane - Jun 2022
"Accommodation tip top. A few tweaks could be made regarding kitchen utensils. Saucepans and baking trays scratch badly and non stick worn away. No up to date gas safety certificate on display. Wonky garden bench outside on veranda. Otherwise excellent accommodation in extremely quiet surroundings with a nice view of the pond ducks and geese. A few rabbits running around early morning."

Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 35 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
