Caistor Lakes Lodges Reviews

"Really enjoyed the stay, would recommend!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and comfy and the fishing was absolutely top-notch. Well be back!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Couldve been cleaner, but not the worst experience."
Emma Taylor - Sep 2024
"The kitchen had loads of utensils and everything we needed, plus comfy sofas and a nice layout. The hot tub was a real highlight and the park is peaceful with a lovely pub onsite. Just the mattresses could do with an upgrade, they were a bit lumpy and thin."
Emma Clarke - Aug 2024
"Our Caistor Lakes Lodges review: Comfortable stay, would recommend!"
Jamie - Aug 2024
"We absolutely loved this lodge! The facilities are top-notch, especially the hot tub. Fishing was fantastic!"
David - Aug 2024
"We recently visited Caistor Lakes for the first time and honestly, it wont be our last! From the moment we arrived, the staff at reception and in the restaurant made us feel really welcome. The food was top-notch and the team was so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The lodge was spotless and well stocked, plus the AC was a real bonus on a warm day. And the fishing on Foundry Lake? Absolutely brilliant, we couldnt keep track of how many fish we caught! Definitely recommend!"
Jamie - Jul 2024
"We had a lovely break! The place was super peaceful and relaxing, with thoughtful touches like tea, robes and even a dog bowl. Loved the hot tub!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed the peaceful vibe"
Amelia - Jun 2024
"The lodge was really roomy and spotless, honestly couldnt ask for more. The hot tub was pristine and waiting when we got there and the fishing off the decking? Perfect spot for it! Definitely recommend."
Jamie - Apr 2024
"We had such a lovely time staying at Puffin Lodge near Arthur's Lake. The lodge was spotless and really well stocked for self-catering, which was great for us. The setting was absolutely stunning-peaceful, scenic and just perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a real highlight, private and super relaxing. Were already thinking of booking again next year around the same time!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"The view over the fishing lake was so calming and the hot tub was just the cherry on top. Lovely stay!"
James - Mar 2024
"The lodge was super comfy and had a lovely smart TV everywhere. WiFis a bit dodgy, though."
Alex - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed the trip, would recommend!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We had a lovely stay at Sandpiper. The lodges spacious rooms and stunning views made it a perfect escape to relax. Definitely recommend it and were already thinking about coming back soon!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was super cosy and clean."
Clara - Mar 2024
"Great stay, had everything we could possibly need."
Emma - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely stay overall, though the fishing at Arturs Lake was a real letdown. The blanket weed and algae made it impossible to catch anything, which was disappointing since the scenery is quite beautiful. The lodge and restaurant were genuinely good, so its a shame about the fishing situation. Still, we enjoyed our time!"
James - Jan 2024
"Very good service"
Sam - Dec 2023
"Wow, where do we even start with this place? From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth sailing. Check-in was straightforward and the lodge was spotless when we got there, with all the info we needed already waiting for us. We decided to pop over to The Ugly Duckling on-site restaurant without a reservation, as wed just finished work and were starving. They managed to squeeze us in even though they were closing up - honestly, we were impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and you wouldnt guess we were the last table of the night at all. The staff really made the evening special - friendly, attentive without being over the top and they had us laughing quite a bit. We liked it so much that we went back the next morning for breakfast - two for £18, with a 10% discount if youre staying in a lodge too! Everything was fresh, proper quality ingredients and their tea and coffee were lovely. Different staff from the night before, but just as warm and welcoming. The lodge itself is really well thought out - super clean, everything you could possibly need and the hot tub? Just brilliant! The hosepipe meant we could keep it topped up all weekend and being by the lake made it so peaceful. Even with other guests nearby, you couldnt hear a thing and the layout of the walls and verandas made it feel like it was just us out there. A nice touch was bumping into the maintenance guy while walking around; he was great - chatting about the lakes, the grounds and the animals. Our partner and brother-in-law even got a mini lesson on the fish and met the tortoises - he was so knowledgeable and took the time to chat, even though he was busy. Were already planning our return and just want to say a big thankyou to everyone who made our weekend from 17-20 November so memorable. Cant wait to come back!"
Clara - Nov 2023
"We had a really relaxing stay. The lodge was super comfy and with the weather being so hot, the air conditioning was a lifesaver. The beds were so cosy, we slept like logs. A couple of small things could be improved - more cutlery would be handy and a clothes airer for drying towels after the hot tub would be great. Also, the toilet brushes in the bathroom looked a bit grimy, which kind of spoiled the look. Still, overall a lovely break!"
Jamie - Nov 2023
"Great spot for fishing, we had a really good time!"
Chris - Nov 2023
"We had a really warm welcome from the lodge, which felt cosy and inviting. The high ceilings in the living space added a nice touch. Bedrooms were spacious with lovely en-suite showers and the fluffy towels and robes were a nice touch. The laundry stuff is all new now, which is great!"
Emma Turner - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Waking up to that stunning lake view every morning was just gorgeous. The food from the restaurant was always on time and tasty, even if we didnt manage to catch anything fishing."
Emma - Jul 2023
"We had an amazing stay! The location is stunning and the facilities are top-notch. The restaurant was a plus, delivering straight to our lodge. My partner enjoyed fishing from the deck and I couldnt get enough of the hot tub. Definitely coming back!"
Mark - Jul 2023
"The Father's Day meal was truly fantastic and it made us eager to try their breakfast - equally impressive!"
James - Jun 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, though its a bit pricey without discounts."
James - Jun 2023
"Lovely stay, will definitely return soon."
Emma - May 2023
"We stayed at this lodge recently and really enjoyed it overall. The peaceful setting makes for a proper getaway and the hot tub was absolutely the highlight-so relaxing, especially watching the ducks glide by. One thing we did miss mentioning beforehand is that theres no dedicated parking right next to the lodge, which caught us out a bit (our mistake for not checking carefully). Its worth noting so others dont get caught out like we did. The only slight tweak wed suggest is adding some net curtains or shutters. During the day, with the curtains open, all the rooms are pretty much visible from outside - including the bedrooms. A bit of netting would help keep some privacy while still letting in the light. But honestly, its a lovely place and wed happily go back!"
Alex - May 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was perfect for us."
Emma - May 2023
"Best holiday ever. Osprey Lodge is spotless. Staff are amazing. We will definitely be returning"
Elaine - Jul 2022
"We stayed in the kingfisher it was clean & well equipped, the only thing I will say is the hot tub needs to have a fence down the side where the footpath to make it abit more private."
Jane - Jul 2022
"The overall experience for us, was perfect, we found the location, the atmosphere and the setting just right. If you’re an angler and your main purpose for booking Caistor lakes is predominantly to carp fish, then this might not be the place for you as it’s no runs water. If however you have booked for a relaxing break With the added bonus of being set on a lake and the possibility of catching some stunning fish, then get booking. The lodges are faultless (we stayed in Shearwater on Arthur’s pool) there really wasn’t anything we could suggest needed changing. It really was Home from home with the additional of a beautiful hot tub. The food in the restaurant was 5* the chef really does deserve a pat on the back, yes there are sometimes delays and yes you do need to book. I always see this as a good sign and wouldn’t expect to turn up to a restaurant of this standard and find an available table. Staff were friendly and helpful, everything was explained to us on arrival and again we were warned that the restaurant gets busy and usually needed a booking. If I could suggest anything a little shop with the basics/fresh produce would be ideal."
Samantha - Jul 2022
"Absolutely wicked holiday from start to finish. Lodge 10* immaculate had a brilliant 2 weeks. Fishing excellent lost count of the amount of carp I caught would highly recommend this lodge. Sun is on the lodge all day. Hot tub a must"
David - Jul 2022
"I do think they need to do something with the weed in the lake in my opinion"
Ian - Jul 2022
"Clean and very relaxing"
Simon - Jul 2022
"Second time here, and to be honest gets better each time would recommend this holiday to anyone simply fantastic ... see you next year!!"
David - Jul 2022
"Lovely place would recommend"
Angela - Jun 2022
"Absolutely fantastic"
Ria - Jun 2022
"Great place to stay..beautiful location ?..staff so friendly & helpful?"
Caroline - Jun 2022
"Staff were so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to work there. Wanted peace and quiet which is exactly what we got. Pretty views from lodge, plenty of wildlife and very private hot tub areas, the location of lodges make it so you are not over looked. Only the mattress let it down, would have expected slightly better quality for such luxury accommodation. Enough equipment to cook, lovely rainfall shower and comfortable seating."

The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 12 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 13 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.

The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET

Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Madhyamaka Meditation Centre - LL21 9NG
about 34 Miles
Madhyamaka Meditation Centre  a unique and very special centre in the Yorkshire moors offering amazing meditation experiences for experts and novices. The beautiful setting really ads to the experience and the gorgeous grounds are abundant with wildlife including Squirrels, Deer and Birds including Red Kites.
