The perfect holiday accommodation should come with plenty of little luxuries, so the Lakeside VIP lodge is a great option! Sleeping up to seven people over three bedrooms (one double with en-suite, one twin and a triple bunk room), it's ideal for large families, wh ist the open plan kitchen, living area and diner provides plenty of extra space to get together.

Enjoy the weather by relaxing outside on the veranda, where outdoor furniture and your own private hot tub are great to admire the view overlooking the lake. But if the weather turns, there's no need to worry, as Wi-Fi is included, as well as a flatscreen television with Freesat to find a film on! There's also a pet friendly version of the lakeside VIP lodge for those waiting any four-legged friend along too (for an extra charge).

The lodges at Hanworth Country Park also make a great base to come back to after a day’s exploring in Lincoln. Head to Lincoln castle, for example, home to an original 1215 Magna Carta! There's plenty to keep guests busy at The Castle; from walking the medieval Wall to exploring the towers and dungeons, to discovering the stows of the convicts who resided in the Victorian prison - Downtown Abbey and Call the Midwife fans might even recognise some areas in the prison, which was used as a filming location for both television series!

Any guests staying at the pet friendly version of the Lakeside VIP lodge should also check the Lincoln castle website ahead of their visit to find out the dates for dog friendly days at The Castle to explore history with their canine companion.

Premier VIP lodges at Hanworth country park are great for housing the whole family, and Lincoln offers plenty for them to do aside from exploring The Castle! When they need to let off some steam, why not have a go at a Lincoln

Mystery trail? Kids aged 6 and up can become detectives for the day as they work their way around Lincoln’s Cathedral quarter and solve the murder mystery! The trail pack is available to purchase and download online, and at a 1.5 mile 'loop' trail, it’s a brilliant way to explore the city and see even more places you might want to visit on your holiday! But those travelling with adults (or any brave children!) who fancy something on the more thrilling side of things, should also check out Lincoln ghost walks.

Families or groups travelling with slightly order children (ten and up) should team up for a challenge at Escape Lincoln, where everyone will have to chip in and get involved to help find the key to unlock the door to your room before your sixty minutes are up!

Whether you're a brave group wanting to try your hand at the Lincoln chainsaw massacre room or prefer the more magical side to things and choose to play the magic emporium room, it's a brilliant and unique way to spend time with friends and family. You're sure to have plenty of stories to tell when you get home!

Hanworth Country Park Reviews

"Great value for money, heating worked perfectly"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed the stay, it was calming and just what we needed. Watching the red Arrows was a bonus!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay! The lounge was super cosy and perfect for relaxing."
Emma - Dec 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The peaceful vibe and beautiful surroundings were perfect for unwinding. Were already planning our next visit, cant wait!"
Sam - Dec 2024
"Our Hanworth Country Park review: The Leisure Lodge is spacious enough for four, but designed for six, which I found a bit tight, especially when the weather's miserable and youre stuck inside all day. Not ideal, really."
Emma Clarke - Nov 2024
"We love this place! Beautiful lakes for walks with the dog, super relaxing atmosphere and the campsite is really easy to enjoy without any fuss."
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Comfortable lodge with some signs of age, but it didnt ruin our relaxing trip."
Emily Carter - Oct 2024
"We stayed at this lodge and really enjoyed it. The balcony overlooking the lake was a lovely touch. Inside, its pretty standard with a double and two twin rooms. Kitchen had all we needed, including a decent fridge freezer. Overall, a comfy spot for a getaway!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Overall, we enjoyed our stay, though a few things could be improved. The lodge was lovely, but we did have to go outside to make work calls since there was no WiFi. It'd be helpful if there were clearer signs about dogs needing to be on leads, as we had an incident with an unleashed dog despite warnings. More activities for kids and longer bar hours for food and drinks would make a big difference. And yes, the cups and plates couldve been cleaner!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Nice modern lodge, spacious enough for six of us. Bathrooms had a strange smell, but overall it was comfortable enough."
Emily Carter - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was cosy, well-kept and fully furnished, making everything easy."
Emma - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed it, would definitely suggest to others!"
Alexandra Parker - Feb 2024
"Overall, we had a good experience. The hot tub was ready when we arrived, which was great. A minor issue was some jets kept popping out, but it didnt ruin our time. We actually prefer open tubs to enjoy star gazing at night, so it worked for us!"
Alex - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, everything was spot on, can't wait to return!"
Sarah - Jan 2024
"We had a fantastic stay at this cosy lodge over New Year. Its really warm and super comfy, perfect for relaxing. The location is great - just a quick 5-minute drive to Potterhanworth, where The Chequers pub is a real gem. Branston, about 7 minutes away, has a Co-op, a Chinese takeaway and the Waggon and Horses pub if you fancy a pint. The onsite pub, The Brewers, was open while we were there and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Lincoln city centre is only 15 minutes by taxi, which we booked easily and found very reliable. We also ordered pizza from a nearby place, so all in all, a lovely getaway!"
Emily S. - Jan 2024
"We stayed here again over Christmas and had a really relaxing time. The lodge was spotless and everything we needed was there - no missing bits at all. The hot tub was a bit cool on Christmas Eve, but the guy doing the checks said it was okay and it warmed up by the evening. Theres not much around, which is perfect if you just want to switch off. We loved just chilling in the lodge and hot tub all weekend!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay, it was so calming and peaceful. Lovely walks with our dog, though we wish we'd chosen a lodge with a hot tub next time!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"Comfortable and spotless, just what we needed."
Emma Roberts - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and super helpful too."
Emma - Oct 2023
"Such a lovely spot, super tranquil and perfect for unwinding. We really enjoyed every second here!"
Elena - Oct 2023
"Very friendly staff and decent facilities make it a good spot to stay."
Emma Carter - Oct 2023
"The park was fantastic, really well maintained. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We stayed in two twin rooms for our 14 and 10-year-olds, which worked great, although fitting two adults in the twin room was a bit tight. Still, overall a lovely stay!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2023
"Great spot for a peaceful break, really helped us unwind."
Martin - Jan 1970
"The Plum Lodge was absolutely stunning, right by the lake which made it really peaceful. It was spotless when we arrived and the beds were already made-such a lovely touch! We loved it."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Great spot, totally recommend it!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were super friendly and helpful."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Absolutely loved our stay! The lodge was spotless, super cosy and honestly the best we've had."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodges were spotless and comfy. Great hot tub!"
Jake - Jan 1970
"We had a lovely stay overall. Everything was sorted quickly when we had questions or issues, which was really reassuring. One tip-when booking, it might help to clarify if you're friends or partners, especially if only the main bedroom is set up. Still, a great visit! Thanks!"
Emma Carter - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay at Cherry Lodge, it was spotless and had everything we needed. Lovely place!"
Chris - Jan 1970
"Amazing lodge, quiet location but close to everything you need just a short drive away"
Katie - Aug 2022
"Lovely place for a relaxing time especially with hot tubs."
Janet - Jul 2022
"Fab lodge, lovely touches with toiletries. Only pointer is that 3rd bedroom beds are quite small so really only suitable for under 5ft 5 or children"
Julie - Jul 2022
"First time there, will be going back next year. The luxury lodge is amazing"
Thomas - Jul 2022
"Couldn’t fault it. Perfectly quiet, tranquil open space. Lodges are reasonably sized and so clean. We had lovely weather, so it was nice to be sitting outside all day. Food at the cafe was lovely, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to return in the New Year."
Bec - Jul 2022
"Hanworth Country Park is a beautiful place for a relaxing break. Very peaceful surroundings, lovely walks and excellent fishing. Lodges are well equipped and hot tubs are lovely for relaxing evenings."
Johanne - Jul 2022
"Lovely quiet park. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good base to explore Lincoln and surrounding area. Good food in Brewers bar and restaurant but only served food until 2.30 pm out of peak holiday season."
Julie - Jul 2022
"We stayed in one of the large lodges with a hot tub. And it comfortably fit all 7 of us in it. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The scenery and wildlife was breathtaking! Very reasonably priced too :) We’ll definitely be back for more weekend stays. :)"
Amanda - Jun 2022
"A lovely peaceful place, suitable for friends, family or couples. Also dog friendly."
Sara - May 2022
"Wonderful place. Great for fishing. Very peaceful. Staff with very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a lovely lodge with hot tub, Had a lovely meal in the bar/restaurant, very reasonable."
Sue - May 2022
"Amazing beautiful place went with friends to celebrate my 40th birthday friendly staff and great cocktails. Looking to book again with my little family xx"
Subhadra - May 2022
"We stayed in one of the Leisure lodges with a hot tub (the Beech). The park itself is lovely and well presented, with great walks around the choice of lakes with lots of wildlife (I’ve never seen so many baby geese). The sunset was stunning from the main lake."
Katie - May 2022
"We had a great time."

Attractions Near Hanworth Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Hanworth Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 24 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 30 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 30 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 32 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Normanby Hall Country Park - DN15 9HU
about 32 Miles
Normanby Hall Country Park has a fantastically tranquil location Set in the 300 acres of Normanby Hall estate offering a relaxing choice for a family day out. The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. The Deer park is sure to be a big hit with the children with herds of fallow deer to spot.
The Deep - HU1 4DP
about 38 Miles
Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 39 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
