Lochgoilhead Lodges

Argyllshire & Islands » Lochgoilhead, On The Drimsynie Estate, Argyll

Lochgoilhead Lodges are set in the midst of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and attached to the impressive Drimsynie House Hotel with its stunning nine hole golf course. This is a really beautiful setting, backed by mountains and overlooking Loch Goil. The hotel has two superb restaurants and bars that stage family entertainment in the evenings.

Lochgoilhead is the perfect base for exploring the stunning scenery of the Western Highlands. Back at Lochgoilhead Lodges, there is ice skating, bowls and snooker, badminton, table tennis and even indoor bowling! The Jacuzzi, steam room, large indoor pool and gym are perfect for unwinding – and there is golf, free fishing in Loch Goil and plenty of activities for the children.

The Eagle Premier VIP Lodge is a spacious A-frame contemporary lodge that sleeps up to six people and has a private outdoor hot tub on the verandah. The Osprey Premier VIP Lodge also has its own  private hot tub and there is a shop and a launderette close by.

Visitors to Argyllshire can explore Scottish history at the turreted Inverary Castle or enjoy a trip to Oban, a picturesque harbour town with its very own chocolate factory! Oban is also the gateway to the Isles – Islay and Jura are famous for their distinctive malt whiskies. A visit to Ardkinglas Woodland Garden at Cairndow or Benmore Botanic Gardens in Argyll would be the perfect way to spend a relaxing day.

Visitor Reviews of Loch Shuna Lodges

Mr and Mrs Handford, Northumberland
We have just come back from Loch Shuna and felt we had to tell everyone how good it was. This was our 1st time to Scotland and out 1st lodge holiday and we were very impressed with everyting from the views to the hot tub. We went on some great walks (wrap up warm!) and spotted some rabbits and even a woodpecker. Hoping to go back next year.
Julia Piper
Just heaven. peace and quiet at all times, only the birds for background noise. it was just what we needed.
Ali, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 27th July 2019
Wonderful time had by all, adults and kids too, aged 3 and 6.
Valerie, Fife, Scotland
Date of stay: 6th July 2019
I couldnt recommend Loch shuna lodges enough, considering that the weather wasnt the best (to be expected and wed prepared for it) we took full advantage of the hot tub, sauna and log burner. Our children loved playing with Tillie and Luke (the owners dogs) and the sights were spectacular. It was exactly the kind of holiday we wanted, albeit with slightly less sun (,)

This was our 5th year at Terra Nova Lodge and we love it. So comfortable and cosy it's like coming home. The weather this year wasn't as good as in previous years, but still we love being at Loch Shuna lodges. The hot tub is a definite bonus too. What's not to love.
Alison
Date of stay: 28th July 2018
Excellent location, beautiful views from the hot tub. Only possible negatives were having to bring own towels and lack of wifi (although some would like this feature).
Sandra, Frodsham

Great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet and to relax. a very good first impression when we arrived and clean, tidy lodge with a basket of logs and a box of chocs to get us going! The rooms were exactly what we expected and clean, bedding was of good quality too. Most enjoyable relaxing in the hot tub at night or during the day, also the fact you don't need to go anywhere just enjoy the surrounding beauty and tranquillity of the setting. Would definitely go back again.

Ideal place to have a romantic break, accommodation was lovely, some nice walks in the area and a couple of places to get good food. All in all a great Christmas holiday.
Gary, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Date of stay: 28th October 2017
Lodge was lovely and reasonably well equipped. The promise of wifi was unfortunately not delivered (this had apparently 'broken down' a few weeks ago and not been repaired) and therefore with no mobile reception, there was no access to internet (or the outside world!) at all at the lodge. Had we known this, we'd have done our detailed research of the area and things to do before we went, but expected to be able to do this whilst we were there on ipad/tablets. The 'back to basics' lifestyle was quite nice I suppose (re lack of tech) but the wifi was one of the reasons we booked this place. We would have booked elsewhere had we known. So it was back to the old tourist brochures to find things to do. The Lodge was on a very remote but beautiful island on the West coast of Scotland. Travel by car each day really was a must and this did mean some hours on the road most days as there are no 'direct' routes to anywhere! Excellent scenery and beautiful landscapes close by with some interesting heritage artefacts and standing stones. No real beaches to speak of nearby (our dog loves the beaches but these were limited). Would have liked to have maybe got to Mull or Skye but it was really just a bit too far for a day trip there. Still enough nearby to fill a week. The jacuzzi was a lovely way to spend the twilight hours (even in the rain) relaxing after a days walking and with a clear sky, the inky black depths of space show up the Milky Way and any passing shooting stars fabulously. We counted about 8 in an hour one night.

I cannot thank Falcon enough for how welcoming he was with my partner and I, he showed us around and left us to it and we had the most amazing time. I cannot wait to get back
Maureen, Buckie
Date of stay: 16th September 2017
The lodge itself was perfect. In a great location, so relaxing. As pet owners the only fault for us was the garden was not enclosed, so we had to keep our two inquisitive Westies on a lead all the time, but that won't stop us going back.
Mark, West Lothian

Just what we wanted from our break away, perfect

Although not a large cabin it was perfectly adequate for both of us and two small dogs. Comfortably furnished and well equipped. Quiet and private too. The hot tub and sauna are a great addition.

Always enjoy coming back to Loch Shuna Lodges. This was our 3rd visit. We love it here. This is comfort, luxury and relaxation in the most wonderful surroundings. Never fails to hit the spot. Love the family dogs too.

The only improvement could be to have some sharper knifes. Everything else is great.
Janice

Lodges are well equipped with all you need with the exception of towels, this was not however an issue as we were aware before we went.
Yvonne, Perth

The lodge was just perfect. Very clean with everything you needed. Just remember to pack towels.
Hot tub secluded.
Kevin, Skegness

if you need a break from the riggers of every day life then this is the place to go wonderful walking and very helpful people
Mark, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 22nd December 2015
Very warm and pleasant lodge. Good facilities for cooking and cleaning. Great hot tub and sauna. Some very low level lighting on the footpath leading to the hot tub would be beneficial. Just requires a few finishing touches to truly make it a luxury lodge... things like providing soaps in the toilets, providing towels, most of all providing robes and slippers for going to and from the hot tub.
Tracy, Alloa
Date of stay: 14th November 2015
Had a great 4 days with our two dogs, pub on the mainland were very welcoming of the dogs. The cabin itself had everything we needed and was very warm and cosy. Lovely and quiet and the hot tub was great after a long wet walk. Luke and Tilly the owners dogs were hilarious and very freindly, visiting every day for their buscuits. Oban is only 20 miles away and well worth a visit. We would definately go for another break at Discovery Lodge.
Heather, Glasgow
Date of stay: 10th November 2015
Lodge & surroundings were lovely & was very peaceful even though we had awful weather , my only problem was I wasn't sure if the water in the hot tub had been changed before we arrived it was dirty round the sides of the hot tub & the smell of our skin when we came out of it(wasn't very pleasant ) that was my only issue, would still recommend!
Christine
Lovely clean cottage in beautiful surroundings. Second time at this cottage and will be back. Everyone was so friendly, the pub was great and the local riding stable was awesome.
Lilias
This was a lovely lodge in a spectacular location - everybody should go there once but if everybody did I would not be able to book this again. I had a wonderful time exploring the surroundings and even spotted a house from the TV programme "Grand Designs". If you want to explore Argyll I can think of no better choice.
Simon
Secluded area, lodge has everything you need, owners dogs are fantastic, even came with us for walks. Will definitely be returning
Howard
This place is just the spot to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, a stunning little Island with the chance of seeing an otter if that's your thing.

Fantastic lodge and facilities - great get away from everything
Rachael
Fabulous lodge!! Great hot tub and sauna, great surroundings. Everything you need is already in the lodge, firewood is provided and if you need more all you have to do is pop over and ask and you will be provided with more. Would 100% stay here again.
