Lochgoilhead Lodges

Argyllshire & Islands » Lochgoilhead, On The Drimsynie Estate, Argyll

Lochgoilhead Lodges are set in the midst of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and attached to the impressive Drimsynie House Hotel with its stunning nine hole golf course. This is a really beautiful setting, backed by mountains and overlooking Loch Goil. The hotel has two superb restaurants and bars that stage family entertainment in the evenings.

Lochgoilhead is the perfect base for exploring the stunning scenery of the Western Highlands. Back at Lochgoilhead Lodges, there is ice skating, bowls and snooker, badminton, table tennis and even indoor bowling! The Jacuzzi, steam room, large indoor pool and gym are perfect for unwinding – and there is golf, free fishing in Loch Goil and plenty of activities for the children.

The Eagle Premier VIP Lodge is a spacious A-frame contemporary lodge that sleeps up to six people and has a private outdoor hot tub on the verandah. The Osprey Premier VIP Lodge also has its own  private hot tub and there is a shop and a launderette close by.

Visitors to Argyllshire can explore Scottish history at the turreted Inverary Castle or enjoy a trip to Oban, a picturesque harbour town with its very own chocolate factory! Oban is also the gateway to the Isles – Islay and Jura are famous for their distinctive malt whiskies. A visit to Ardkinglas Woodland Garden at Cairndow or Benmore Botanic Gardens in Argyll would be the perfect way to spend a relaxing day.

Date of stay: 21st October 2019
We all had an excellent holiday. Great value for the money. Staff very helpful.
Claire, Bathgate
Date of stay: 21st October 2019
We booked the most basic of the lodges available. It was comfortable, spacious and adequate for our stay, my husband even said he'd had the best night's sleep in ages!
However a couple of the wooden slats around the balcony were broken, which is potentially dangerous. We blocked the area off to stop our dog making any escape attempts. I had to clean the dish drainer which I found under the sink as it had mould on it.

only downside was the wait for our meals, even when restaurant was quiet with only 10 people in attendance we still had to wait an hour for our meal

Beautiful caravan and first time in Jura model. The large comfortable bed was brilliant first for us and will book this again. Not always such comfort in other sites we visit.

Whilst we booked the Dura premier 6 we were allocated a Dura Comfort plus
The website photos indicated the Dura premier 6 as being slightly larger than the caravan allocated
Price difference
Other than this we all enjoyed our holiday at Hunters Quay

The caravan was very comfy and exceptionally clean. The mattress of the double bed wasnt particularly comfortable but the sofa was and the water pressure of the shower was great. We had to use the heating a couple of times and it was easy to use and very efficient.

Date of stay: 16th August 2019
Had a great few days at Hunters Quay. Lodge with hot tub was ideal for 4 people. We ate at the grill place on site. £70 for a starter, main, wine and a couple of beers for 3 people. It was nice. Never really used any facilities but everything was there. Surrounding area was stunning. Pucks Glen...wow!
Lynn, Alexandria
Date of stay: 12th August 2019
Overall had a great relaxing weekend despite the weather
Fiona, Hamilton
Date of stay: 12th August 2019
Our caravan was good, kitchen had everything we needed, lounge area seating could have been comfier but was good size for us. Plenty of room for toys to lay about! Lots of storage in the double room which compensated for not much in the twin. En suite in the double was handy.
The caravan was spotless except that the carpet cleaner needed cleaned!
Would have been good to have coat hooks in the hallway. We had nowhere to hang jackets except over the doors (the dining was a bench/booth type seating).

Hunters Quay is a prefect local and holiday park for us as a family we have had some great times and memory's, we have been three times now and still intent to come again ,then the time is right, we have even looked at buying a caravan, again then the time is right. the only thing I can say constructively is the saunas where not working , and only one of the Jacuzzi's working.
Claire, Stoke-on-trent

A really great holiday. Loved the park and the area. On our arrival we visited the site shop. A lovely lady there called sandy was really welcoming and told us about some local walks. In fact all staff were very polite and friendly including the pool staff who signed us in and the Austallian lady in the restaurant who served our meal.

I enjoyed my holiday so much that one of the solicitors I work with is going on to have a look with a view to taking her niece and nephew over.

we had a great time and would definitely recommend a friend. We cant wait to go back we loved de journey on de fairies.
Kirsty, Gb
Date of stay: 5th July 2019
Had such a great time and will return. Think towels should be changed every couple of days instead of once a trip. Also 4pm check in and 10am check out seems like a bit of a con as we paid for 5 days but only got three full days.
Janice, Coatbridge

Peter, Shropshire
Date of stay: 17th June 2019
Not the cheapest holiday available in Scotland, but the overall standards are reflected in the price.
I have enjoyed many previous holidays at Hunters Quay and will continue to stay there when taking a holiday in that area of the country.
Amanda
Very clean and cosy lodge, great views, lots to do
Gail
Plenty to keep the kids occupied. The soft play is excellent and so reasonably priced. Pool was a good size, great that kids can take in balls, diving weights etc. Evening entertainment was great for both kids and adults alike. Lodge was clean & well equiped. Go Active desk and staff were really good, however at £10 per activity this can work out very expensive if you have more than one child
Fiona
Fabulous break for myself and two friends. Beautiful location. Excellent facilities although we didn’t use them!! B
Claire
Lovely place! Fantastic staff who are extremely helpful, great facilities including large swimming pool which was perfect for our toddler to enjoy. Great value for money in amazing surroundings. Would definitely recommend.
Chris
Great for a short break and highly recommend for a short break. Not enough around Dunoon unfortunately to keep a young family occupied for a full week or more. We have been several times to HQ and noticed the WIFI was working for first time this year and it was very good. Makes a big difference with young family. Another gripe feel you need another place for people to go eat. Even a Burger King or Subway or KFC on site. Saw them at other holiday sites and makes a difference. Thanks
Marian
I took my three foster children to Hunters Quay. The boys who were 16 and 17 years old enjoyed swimming, playing pool and clay pigeon shooting nearby. The 7year old girl loved the soft play, outdoor climbing area, swimming on site and in Dunoon. The entertainment at night was excellent both for the kids and myself, a very relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings!
Ainsley
We spent a fantastic long weekend at hunters quay - the accommodation was perfect for us, the facilities were lovely and extremely clean and well maintained and the staff could not have been more friendly. We can’t wait to go back again.
Louise
