Golden Coast Holiday Park Reviews

"We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and a great shower thats perfect after a day out. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like home. Plus, parking right next to the cottage was super convenient. Its well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring Thaxteds beautiful walks and windmill. Wed definitely return!"
Oliver - May 2025
"We had to switch places after just one night because of this relentless noise that went off every hour-kept us awake all night, which was a nightmare. Luckily, the staff were really helpful and quickly sorted us out, moving us to a much quieter spot. The new villa was fantastic and definitely made up for the rough start. Overall, pretty good experience!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"This place was just what we needed-super peaceful and well kitted out. The hot tub was a real treat and everyone was so friendly. Perfect spot for a quiet getaway, honestly. Highly recommend it! Well done indeed."
Alexandra - Mar 2025
"We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and really cosy, perfect for a rainy December day. The bath was great and the shower was quite spacious. The location is in the middle of nowhere, which was perfect for our dogs who hate fireworks-no bother at all. The house is beautifully converted and really charming. Thanks a lot for a lovely break!"
Elsie - Feb 2025
"Our Golden Coast Holiday Park review: The lodge was just what we needed. Beds were a bit small and the shower dripped, but overall, it was a lovely stay. Would come back!"
Jessie - Feb 2025
"We loved our stay at this lodge! The hot tub was a real treat and the place was super comfy. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We'd definitely come back!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2025
"We had such a lovely stay at this cosy place tucked away in a really peaceful spot. The owners were super friendly and always happy to help if needed, but it still felt private and quiet. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around the area! One thing to note, the cottage is right under the flight path of Stansted, so aircraft noise is quite noticeable. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt spoil our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!"
Rajiv - Dec 2024
"We loved this place for a peaceful escape. Sharon and Robert really go above and beyond to make sure everythings perfect. Its our second time here and definitely not the last - cant wait to return!"
Alice - Nov 2024
"Great lodge. Was a bonus there was a dvd player. Heating was effective. Shower good strength. Nice to have some essentials in a welcome pack like washing up soap, kitchen towel, milk sachets."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"It all went smoothly, no issues at all, felt just like being at home."
Claire - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here, staff were friendly and there's plenty to do on site."
Sam - Oct 2024
"We absolutely loved this charming cottage - the log burner and hot tub were fantastic. Hosts were welcoming, peaceful vibe, cant wait to come back!"
Chloe - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was cosy and had everything needed."
Ella - Sep 2024
"Lovely stay, the villa had everything we needed."
Charlotte Bennett - Sep 2024
"The villa was lovely and tidy, with a nice layout and great view. Bedrooms were spacious, though an extra baking tray for oven chips wouldve been handy!"
Sarah - Sep 2024
"We've stayed at this park quite a few times over the years, so we know it pretty well. Its a lovely spot and we usually enjoy our visits. However, this time, things didnt start off great. Our room door was wide open when we arrived, which was a bit of a shock and definitely poor form. The real issue was the missing cot bed - we called reception and they said itd be there in 15 minutes. An hour later, still nothing. When we tried to follow up, we found reception closed, so we had to hunt down a staff member ourselves to sort it out. We paid for that cot, so it was pretty frustrating to have to chase after it. Aside from that, the site itself remains as lovely as ever, but honestly, the false promises from reception left a sour taste. Not what we expected this time around."
James - Aug 2024
"This place is just lovely-quiet, cosy, with a great hot tub and log burner. Hosts are friendly and we can't wait to come back for longer!"
Isla - Aug 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay! The villa had all the essentials, like a washer dryer and dishwasher, which made things so much easier. The welcome pack with tea, coffee and washing tablets was such a thoughtful touch. Beds were super comfy and it felt cosy despite the holiday vibe. Loved it!"
Rachel - Aug 2024
"The place offers loads of activities for everyone, which we loved. The apartment was spotless, though the flooring looked a bit tired. Definitely good value overall!"
Jamie Collins - Jun 2024
"We loved the cosy feel of the cottage, especially the log burner and hot tub. Hosts were lovely and super accommodating. Can't wait to come back!"
Laura - Jun 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The cottage was super cosy and private, yet close enough to town for convenience. The hot tub and underfloor heating made everything extra comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie were lovely hosts. Cant wait to return for a longer break soon!"
Michael - May 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this cosy little spot tucked away in a peaceful area. The owners were super friendly and made us feel really welcome, always happy to help if we needed anything. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - absolute bliss! One thing to note, though, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of plane noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but its worth mentioning if you're sensitive to sound. Overall, a great find!"
Raj - May 2024
"The place was perfect for us and the dogs-peaceful, quiet and the garden was a big plus!"
Olivia - May 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place had everything needed."
Clara - Apr 2024
"The place was pretty comfy and warm, which we appreciated. Its a bit of a trek from the car park to unload, but overall not too bad. Wouldve loved some bedside lamps though, the overhead lighting felt odd."
Alex - Feb 2024
"We stayed at Golden Coast during February half term and honestly, it was a mixed bag. When we arrived, we were told that nothing was open - no facilities, no entertainment, no arcade, which was pretty disappointing since that wasnt clear when we booked. Its only recently been updated on the website, so maybe theyre working on that. The villa itself was lovely - spacious, clean and perfect for our family of two adults and four kids. The only hiccup was the hot water in the shower - it kept running cold, though we managed by using the second one. All in all, it was okay, but we wish wed known about the closures beforehand."
Ellie - Feb 2024
"We really enjoyed our visit; the fields were perfect for walking the dogs and relaxing."
Harper - Jan 2024
"If were honest, everything here was just perfect - super thoughtful touches and a really cosy place. The hosts made us feel so welcome and were really helpful. Honestly, we had such a lovely break and will definitely return!"
Jodie - Dec 2023
"We loved the cottage! The location was spot on-super peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The views of the farm, especially the horses, were lovely. The owners were really welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a place wed come back to for a quiet getaway!"
Sophie - Dec 2023
"Really pleased with the service, would recommend!"
Simon - Nov 2023
"Had a lovely time friendly staff and beautiful location"
Chris - Aug 2022
"We’ve just had a fabulous week in the Golden Coast holiday village, the activities for the kids are amazing, the high ropes/climbing wall, outdoor heated pool were fantastic, we will be returning. The only thing I would mention is that there is 1 queue for food and drink, which can take 20 minutes to get from the back to the front..and the connection for contactless payment needs speeding up.. apart from that, the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful, just need more of them, or a different system at the bar."
Shirley - Aug 2022
"This is a wonderful place where everything is perfect, lovely feel to the place , very well organised and there is nothing missing the staff are so professional nothing is too much trouble , from the first step onto the park it is super welcome , the caravan was great and so clean we would like to say thank you for such a wonderful time, keep the good work up . Thank you ."
Penelope - Aug 2022
"A great holiday, perfect for families"
Christine - Aug 2022
"Loads to do...needed another holiday to have a rest."
Owen - Aug 2022
"Lovely park friendly staff great location"
Mark - Aug 2022
"Holiday with grandchildren 2 teenagers and an 8 year old , plenty to do for both ages easy access for different beaches feel we didn't make the most of the holiday camp would have been better if the 2nd indoor pool had been open as we were quite away from the main hub however beautiful setting"
Jeane - Aug 2022
"Caravan was spotless, good in site was good…no problems with staff…very good holiday park for families"
