Leonards Cove Reviews

"Very happy with what was provided, made our stay easy."
Alex - Mar 2025
"Overall pretty good, just a few minor issues didnt ruin the stay at all."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Honestly, we were a bit let down during our stay. The main room heater just didnt cut it with how cold it was, so we were pretty chilly at night. Parking was a nightmare, especially with lots of bags, since the van was parked on a hill and we had to shuffle back and forth. Climbing up and down that hill was a pain! The double bed was a real shocker - way too springy, so we ended up switching to the single beds and the settee instead. Also, the site itself wasnt very well lit in the evenings, which made it tricky to see where we were going or even find the caravan. On departure day, we had until 10am, but two cleaners kept knocking and coming around before then, which was quite frustrating. We felt rushed just trying to finish our breakfast before leaving. All in all, we wouldnt recommend it or stay again ourselves, unfortunately. Not quite what we expected, really."
Emma Roberts - Feb 2025
"Weve just come back from another lovely stay at Leonards Cove. Last October, we had a fantastic time with a big family gathering at the farmhouse, so we knew it was a place we loved. This trip was just me and my partner and we stayed in the Pound Cove Spa Loft. Its a perfect spot for two - loads of space and really comfy. Despite the cold weekend, the loft kept us warm with central heating and a log fire, which was lovely. That said, it wouldve been even cosier if theyd had a fire already set up with some logs waiting for us - most places weve stayed usually do that, so it felt a bit of a shame we had to buy extra logs (£20!) just to get it going. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and we enjoyed some great walks nearby. We also tried the new Italian restaurant and the food was really nice, definitely worth a visit. The only small gripe was the towels - we booked a place set up for five people, with three bedrooms, but only got two small bath towels and two hand towels for the three nights. I mean, I wouldnt dream of using the same towel for three days at home, let alone on holiday! Wouldve been better with proper bath sheets. Apart from that, the loft was well equipped and we really loved it. Well probably come back - just maybe bring our own towels next time! Its a lovely spot for a cosy getaway."
Emily - Feb 2025
"Our Leonards Cove review: We enjoyed a calm, relaxing stay perfect for adults. Kids might find it a bit limited unless the weathers sunny and they can hit the beach."
Oliver - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our time here, the place is peaceful and even nicer than the photos suggest! Highly recommend."
Daniela - Dec 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend it!"
Emma Clarke - Nov 2024
"We recently booked the farmstay for a birthday getaway with friends and family - 6 adults, 3 kids, a baby and our two dogs. Honestly, the place ticked all the boxes. Its spacious and really cosy, with a lovely view of the sea that everyone enjoyed. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, everyone loved unwinding in it. The house itself is well-equipped, quite homely and had nearly everything we needed - the only things missing were a proper chopping board and a fish slice, which was a bit odd. We did notice quite a few light switches, some of which didnt seem to do anything and the fairy lights batteries didnt work - not a big deal, but it wouldve been nice if theyd been functional. The staff were really friendly and Im sure if wed mentioned it, theyd have sorted it out. Stoke Fleming village is charming, with a lovely local pub and Kendricks bar/restaurant, plus a super cute shop we loved visiting. We spent our days walking to the beach, geocaching in Little Dartmouth and just relaxing, eating and having fun in the hot tub. Wed definitely love to return - we didnt get a chance to explore Dartmouth properly, so thats next time!"
Emily - Oct 2024
"Great place, modern, super clean, everything you need was there!"
Oliver - Sep 2024
"The place was really roomy and well kitted out, though we missed a hairdryer. Beds were comfy and the size of the bedrooms was spot on. Loved having a hot tub too! Definitely would come back."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Cooking could be better with sharper knives, honestly."
Emma Clarke - Jul 2024
"Really glad we found this simple solution for the bathroom!"
Emma - Jul 2024
"The place was a bit tight for four of us, honestly."
Emma Roberts - May 2024
"Our stay was really enjoyable! We booked the farmhouse and it was spotlessly clean with all the essentials. The warm welcome from the host made a big difference, showing us around and making us feel at home. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for relaxing after a day out and the outdoor gas fire was lovely during the cool evenings. We visited Blackpool Sands and Dartmouth, both beautiful spots. Definitely planning to come back with the family soon!"
Alexandra - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the views were absolutely stunning!"
Jamie - Mar 2024
"We recently stayed at The Pound Loft and honestly, its a lovely spot. The place itself is really pretty and perfect for a quiet getaway. The main issue we faced was privacy - every time we were in the hot tub outside or just relaxing on the bed, we kept getting disturbed by people checking the jacuzzi or coming into the build to build a fire. It was a bit awkward, especially since we were hoping for a peaceful retreat. Having set times for activities mightve helped us plan better. On our last night, a huge gust of wind caused a tree to break and drop its top on my car! Luckily, no damage, but it was pretty scary. We called a guy to clear the branches and he chopped some off but didnt take the whole tree down, which was understandable. I had to move my car just in case more branches fell. When we mentioned it to a couple of staff members, they just laughed and said, at least you had some excitement, which was a bit odd, but hey, it made for an unforgettable story! Overall, a nice place with a few quirks."
Samira - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed it"
Harper - Feb 2024
"Great spot, very peaceful and tidy."
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We had an amazing stay over New Year at this lovely house. The place was spotlessly clean and felt really cosy, especially with the Christmas touches like the tree and decorations-made it feel extra special. The hosts were super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even leaving prosecco and mince pies in the fridge, which was a nice touch. Theres plenty of space for a big family like ours, including the dog and the kitchen was fully equipped-seriously, everything you could think of. We loved having two lounges and a snug for some quiet time. The bedrooms are gorgeous, but just a heads up-the stairs are quite steep, so if youve got mobility issues or little ones, its worth noting. The outdoor space was great, especially in the summer and the hot tub was a real treat. Plus, the local pub and restaurant on site made grabbing a bite super easy. Wed definitely come back and recommend it to others!"
Emily - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely 3-day escape between Christmas and New Year. Cliff Top 4 was spotless and cosy, with an amazing hot tub overlooking stunning views. The only downside was the bathroom setup; being a wet room meant the floor stayed wet all day, which made it slippery for kids-they did fall a couple of times. Still, we enjoyed it!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the farmhouse! Its super clean and really spacious, which made it perfect for our big family gathering. The staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The place is well stocked with crockery and cutlery, so no complaints there. However, the listing could do with a bit of a update - it mentioned a downstairs toilet and shower for less able guests, but theres actually a step between the kitchen and dining area, which isnt ideal. The stairs up to the bedrooms are quite steep, narrow and spiral, so folks with mobility issues might find it tricky. Once upstairs, the bedrooms are comfy and roomy. We ranged from 15 weeks to 79 years old, with dogs too and it worked perfectly for our pre-Christmas get together. Lovely walks nearby and were already hoping to come back next year!"
Emily Carter - Dec 2023
"We had a lovely weekend at the Pound Loft Spa. The place was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. Loved the small touches like the firewood, kindling and matches for the open fire - really made it special. The hot tub was a real highlight, so relaxing! The staff were friendly and efficient, which made everything smooth. Just a heads up, the location is quite hilly, so it might be tricky for older folk. Wed definitely come back!"
Emma Johnson - Nov 2023
"We loved the stunning views and the house had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and prompt in answering all our questions, really impressed!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was spotless and staff couldn't be nicer. Would come back!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay, but the outdoor areas could do with some sprucing up. The tables outside look a bit tired and the cottages in front could use a fresh coat of paint - they kinda spoil the view. Despite that, we'd definitely stay again because the location and views are fantastic!"
Samir - Nov 2023
"The site offers lovely sea views, though some paths are quite steep. The caravan was comfortable and well-equipped, but the bed could be softer. Nice stay!"
Oliver - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely stay overall, really cosy vibe. Just a couple of things-adding a hook in the bathroom would be handy and some more lighting on the pathway or a torch would make late nights easier. Still, great experience!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"Great Holiday at a fair Price"
Mark - Jul 2022
"Lovely views, great walks. The bungalow was lovely and clean, the site was well maintained. It was a lovely relaxing break and we would go back again."
Wendy - Jul 2022
"Very nice and relaxing I stayed in the pound loft wich was good but it needs, new sofa and the 2 single beds need new mattresses."
Roy - Jul 2022
"Great communication. Very clean site. Welcoming approachable staff."
Sam - Jul 2022
"Great place to stay, fabulous location, friendly staff."
Arthur - Jul 2022
"At first sight the chalet was underwhelmingand in need of some minor repairs to rendering but once through the door it was amazing with the most beautiful view to wake up to. The patio area was well equipped with hot tub, sun loungers and a table and chairs. Loads to do in the area . Staff were very accommodating and helpful . My family and I truly had a fabulous holiday."
Cath - Jul 2022
"Best holiday park I've been to so clean and quiet wonderful views."
