"We stayed at Holmans Wood over the May day BH weekend. Having never stayed there before, we were a bit skeptical about what to expect. We were more than happy with what we walked in to. We booked a superior holiday home and when they say superior, they mean it! It is one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed, the location was fantastic and views were lovely. It wasn't stated on the information, but dishwasher and washer/dryer were also in the accommodation (perfect!). The park is very quiet with Finlake only 10 minutes away for the activities for the children. Also a bonus, local Chinese takeaway (Mei Wah) deliver straight to the park and the food was delicious. Will definitely be returning in the future and have recommended to family and friends. We had a lovely stay."

"We stayed at this charming cottage tucked away on a working farm and it was surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon are lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave! The garden is ideal for dogs, fully enclosed and beautifully furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed exploring Thaxteds great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Highly recommend!"

"We had a lovely stay at this lodge, its in a really convenient spot just off the main road, making it super easy to get to Exeter. Inside, the place is well kitted out - everything youd need for a comfy stay. The hot tub was a real highlight, really relaxing after a day out. Wed definitely come back! That said, we did notice the cleanliness couldve been better - the bin had a weird smell and when we changed it, there was waste at the bottom. The dishwasher had some food bits and the lamp shades were a bit dusty. Considering check-in is 5pm and check-out is 9am, Id expect it to be a bit cleaner with those extra hours for cleaning. Still, overall a good stay!"

"We had such a lovely stay at this place! The setting is really beautiful and private, perfect for a relaxing break. The owners were super friendly and always there if we needed anything, but they didn't intrude on our peace. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling-absolutely perfect. The only thing to note is that the cottage is directly under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didnt ruin our holiday at all. Would definitely recommend!"

"We recently stayed at the 12 Orchid lodge and honestly, it was a pretty great experience. The two-bedroom setup was perfect for us; Bedroom 1 had twin beds and ample storage, while Bedroom 2 featured a comfy queen bed with bedside tables and wall lights-really nice touch. The en-suite shower was a bit tricky with the on-off knob, but nothing too bothersome. The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub, which was handy. The kitchen was fully stocked-everything from a cooker and microwave to utensils, pans and even salt and pepper mills-made cooking easy. The living area was cosy, with a sofa, dining table for four and a smart TV that had apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime (remember to log out before leaving!). We loved the large sliding doors leading to the decking, which had rattan furniture and a hot tub-such a treat! Parking was straightforward for one car, but theres extra nearby if needed. The lodges setting is lovely, backing onto a pond and countryside, so its peaceful. The only downside is the tricky route through Chudleigh if you're heading south on the A38; a printed map helps avoid the single-lane roads. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay-definitely recommend it!"

If more activities for children's available within the park I would recommend this 100%. Otherwise park situated in the lovely country side and good walking trail for dogs. No shop on site but a well stocked garage approx 1/4 a mile away so no problem there."
"I had a brilliant week, relaxing and almost everything provided, towels, hot-tub, large TV, brilliant Wi-Fi and internet provision, heating and comfortable beds and seating. Plenty of space, lovely views. I really appreciate the member of staff responding to my phone all, when I knew I would be arriving a bit late, and he remained on site to hand over my keys.

Powderham Castle is a fortified manor house six miles south of Exeter, on flat ground beside the Exe estuary. The medieval core dates from after 1390, and the house was extended and altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. It has been home to the Courtenay family, Earls of Devon, for centuries.
Tip: The main public entrance gates are in the village of Kenton, so head there rather than to the castle's other side.

The National Marine Aquarium sits in Sutton Harbour, near the Barbican in Plymouth. It is run by the Ocean Conservation Trust, a charity, and is split into four zones: Plymouth Sound, Eddystone Reef, Atlantic Ocean and Blue Planet. You'll see local sharks, rays and octopus, a jellyfish exhibit, and a huge Atlantic tank holding around 1,000 Caribbean fish, with lemon and sand tiger sharks.

Devon's largest theme park mixes water rides, a zoo farm and big indoor play areas, whatever the weather.
Woodlands is a family-owned, all-weather theme park on the A3122, about 5 miles from Dartmouth in South Devon. It covers over 90 acres, with 16 rides, around 500 animals and several play zones, each with its own rides and attractions. There are water rides, a zoo farm and a falconry display with over 50 birds of prey.
Tip: Not every ride runs every day, so check the park's website for opening times and which rides are open before you set off.

Lutyens designed England's last castle, a granite home above the Teign Gorge with gardens and walks.
Castle Drogo is a country house and mixed-revivalist castle near Drewsteignton, built between 1911 and 1930 and known as the last castle built in England. Edwin Lutyens designed it for Julius Drewe, the founder of the Home and Colonial Stores. It is built of granite and overlooks the Teign Gorge. The castle is Grade I listed and the gardens are Grade II* listed.
Tip: The car park has limited spaces, so if it is full, come back another time rather than parking along the drive, which blocks farm vehicles.
