Just a few miles from lively bustling Exeter and the unspoilt beauty of Dartmoor, Kingsford Farm Lodges is a true rural retreat. Set in 65 acres of woodland with a private fishing lake, it's a great base from which to explore Devon and its many attractions - fabulous beaches, pretty villages and glorious countryside.

There are numerous nature reserves in South Devon, all with impressive varieties of wildlife - spot the dark-bellied brent geese at Exmouth and the red deer at Chapel Wood. You could visit the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, head to Canonteign Falls, England's highest waterfall, in Exeter, and enjoy on-site fishing all year round.

Kingsford Lodge is a stylish luxury lodge for four people with one king size double bedroom and one twin room. There's a large walk-in shower and French windows lead to a good sized decking area with garden furniture, an outdoor hot tub and beautiful views across the lake. It is also centrally heated.

The Weary Traveller in Cullompton offers hearty country cooking prepared with fresh local ingredients. They also have a Sunday carvery and often host live music at the weekends as well as holding summer barbecues and music parties. Powderham Castle in Exeter is set in an ancient deer park and it's been home to the Earls of Devon for over 600 years.

We had a warm welcome from the owners and the accommodation was lovely, the location was perfect, quiet and peaceful. You weren't over looked by the other lodges.

I would recommend to my family and friends.

Super location and accommodation. Not sure why people would say overstocked pond, it was superb. Fantastic hot tub.

My wife and I went to Kingsford Farm Lodge in early March and celebrated her birthday while we were there. We had a lovely time and the accommodation was excellent. Very warm clean and tidy. Although it is not the warmest time of the year we still used the hot tub every day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Debbie was very friendly and very helpful and we will definitely go there again in the future.

Fantastic accommodation. It’s in the middle of nowhere down a 2 mile country road. Great fishing pond stacked full of fish and run by a lovely family. We will definitely be going back again.

Absolutely fantastic lodges, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The hot tub was amazing and most welcome after a long day of exploring. The site has just 4 lodges and they are built to maximise privacy,. I would have given the location 10/10 as the actual site is stunning but unfortunately the road leading to the site is in extremely bad condition at the moment. The owner did apologise for this but with recent weather the pot holes were unavoidable and i did actually damage my car. If youve got a 4x4 you will be fine though.

I have stayed here several times and never had the slightest problem. Debbie and Mark are always on hand if needed for anything.
