Where's Upton Lakes Lodges?
The Nickson Family, Kent
Our week at Upton flew by and we wished we had booked longer. the site was so peaceful it was just what the doctor ordered. We had a really nice lodge with a hot tub which the children loved. We spend a few days out in Devon and found some lovely beaches. The village of Cullompton is within walking distance and has a very nice pub - try the pie of the day!
Carol, Keighley

Date of stay: 9th March 2018
The lodges are immaculately clean and have a homely feel. Hot tub fabulous, especially on a cold night gazing up at the clear night sky and stars.
Date of stay: 26th February 2018
Excellent accommodation and location (very close to town). Friendly lady met us on arrival and we were left to our own devices all weekend. The only down side was the sewerage smell from the 2nd Bathroom. Luckily it was just the 2 of us so we kept the door to that bedroom closed off. The remote control's for the TV were poor and didn't work unless you got close to the TV, We bought new batteries but that didn't make a difference. The bed was also very squeaky so we put pillows behind the bedstead. Overall though I would definitely recommend as it was clean and the hot tub was amazing! It's great for a quiet weekend away or fishing trip but the owners just need to pay a little bit more attention to the finer details which cleaners may miss.

Lovely weekend in comfortable and clean lodge. I've only given it a 9 because the hot tub lid blew off in strong wind and I had to move my car in the middle of the night just in case!

Upton Lakes has always been a favourite with us, been many times. The fishing is good and the walk through the community centre which takes you to the back of Tesco is lovely and if you fancy a pint and something to eat your not far from the Weary Traveller pub.

Date of stay: 28th April 2017
The Lodge was very nice, however the boiler did break on the second day meaning we had to be moved. This wasn't a massive problem though as the staff made us feel very at ease and allowed us to stay longer on our last day to make up for the loss of time. Both the lodges were brilliant and felt very homely.

Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
Lovely lodge with hot tub over looking lake some of the other lodges had hot tub on the side near the drive so not so private
Stuart, Lichfield
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
The lodge was warm, spacious, well equipped and clean and just what was needed. It was nice to relax out on the deck with a glass of wine in the evenings and watching the geece land on the lake in the morning (the lodge was so well insulated that you couldn't hear the birds on the lake normally) while eating breakfast. The beds were comfortable and warm.

The highlight was sitting out on a cold, drizzly, October evening in the 40'C hot tub watching the stars with a plastic glass of wine. Luxury. We made as much use of the Hot Tub as possible it was wonderful.
Laurie, Weymouth
Date of stay: 19th October 2015

Date of stay: 1st August 2015
I had the most lovey time here with my children. The lodge was clean and modern and we had so much space. The kids enjoyed the decking and of course the hot tub!! We all slept really well and the showers always had lots of hot water. The kitchen had everything we needed to make every dinner we had brought. The location was great. We went to lots of main beach towns, as well as other places. Most we spent in the car was an hour but that didn't bother us. The evenings were so peaceful and I certainly enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings with the stars out and the peace and quiet, was just what I needed. Will definitely be coming back. Loved every moment. Thank you!!
Lisa, Gravesend, Kent

Wow wow ,!!!!it was my husbands 50th,we came with friends who had lodge further along,we took our border collie jess, the decking was secure it had by folding gates ,so we had no worries of her getting out.both men had gr8 fishing days pulling out 10.5lb carp.the hot tub was ace the cabin was beautiful ,the only negative we have is the geese poo,it was everywhere so we couldn't sit with the men while they fished ,on the positive side it allowed us women to take the opportunity to take advantage of the wonderful decking loungers to sunbath .fantastic restful holiday it was our 1st holiday at upton and it won't be the last ,thank you to all of your team at upton making my husbands birthday so special .Di+Andy, jess our border collie x

Date of stay: 8th May 2015
Beautiful surroundings, stunning lodges and great people. We were in a lakeside escape which with it's open plan living area, spacious bedrooms and en-suites is far superior to the normal static type caravans. Lovely log burner and to top it off the sunken hot tub overlooking the lakes. Very well equipped kitchen and facilities in general. Extremely clean well kept to the extent that we thought it was brand new to find out it was several years old!
Theresa, Burnham On Sea

Date of stay: 28th November 2014
Lodge was very well equipped, welcome was very friendly. Just a couple of points for consideration, the ornaments at the bedsides were full of dust, as were the lamps, this is easily fixed. While surfaces and general areas were very clean, there were a lot of residual cobwebs noticeable, more than I would expect to see. There was also a very obvious electrical socket in the bedroom not attached to the wall which was a tad dangerous but I left information regarding this upon leaving. The single outside light doesn't really light the steps in the dark. For a luxury lodge the decor seemed a little tired but the hot tob was big and very enjoyable, the airing cupboard was lovely to warm our coats before venturing out into the cold and we definitely enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Sharon, Milton Keynes

Jo, Kings Clipstone
Date of stay: 30th August 2014
I was a little disappointed with the bi-fold doors. The left door had an external clip missing which meant if you tried to open that door alone it kept banging in the wind. The right door internal clip had been broken and couldn't open atall. Such a lovely feature but in need of repair!!

Also, there were outside decking lighting and we're not shown where these switched on from. We arrived on the Saturday and it was Thursday before we saw a member of staff to ask where these were switched from so missed these for most of the holiday.

Slight problem with the HotTub on Saturday and Sunday still able to use it and assured it would be fixed on Monday, which it was.
Lodge well equipped with very nearly everything you need on holiday.
Some pet hairs under cushions on sofas, might be me being a little picky because the rest of the lodge and furnishings were superb.

The only downfall was it wasn't actually on the lake so we had to drive down to the lake with our fishing gear, but if you aren't fussed about fishing this lodge is perfect :)

They had just had some new blinds fitted and the new design was causing the blinds not to go back into place correctly after being drawn down.
However the manger Claire is in the process of getting it sorted with the manufacture.

We had a great time. Such a beautiful, peaceful place and the lodges are excellent. This was our second year visiting Upton Lakes and it won't be the last. The only problem I've had is that I never want to go home!

Best lodge we have stayed in so far but too many cobwebs for my liking! Sofas were too low for us but otherwise very well equipped and comfortable. Hot tub was excellent!

Freedom Lodge is a lovely clean and comfortable lodge. The decking area is very spacious and of course the hot tub is a must for relaxing in after a busy day of exploring the area. If I had to make a point of criticism perhaps there could be an overhead shower in the bathroom, with five women wanting showers after a morning dip in the hot tub it can be a bit hectic, but it certainly wouldn't deter a repeat booking for this lodge. Excellent accommodation.

Could benefit from mirrors in two of the bedrooms, plenty of sockets for hairdryers etc. but no mirrors for the girls to do their hair after showering, a bit of a problem if every one wants to get ready to go out at once.

Sofa's are a little to low for me I have to sit on the dining room chairs all weekend. I have arthritis so that little bit lower makes a lot of difference.

Absolutely fantastic lodge, everything you would want.
Excellent...we spent a long weekend here, a mini-honeymoon...actually had the same cabin we had the year before. Lovely friendly greeting, we could`ve arrived early too, but we`d already gone further into Devon. I fished the lakes, quite successfully...was very peaceful...which is what we wanted. Cabin was clean and tidy, and has everything we would want...bonus being the hot tub which was used every evening. Thanks for having us, we`ll be back...and I hope anyone reading this, will enjoy their stay too!
fantastic lodge with everything you need.hot tub great, also very good fishing.
Great long weekend with friends, just wanted to relax and the lodge was perfect for that. Walked into the town to go to a few pubs which were friendly and only a 15 minute walk from the lodges. Thinking about going back again
Lovely clean lodge lovely and quiet surrounding
This was our 8th visit to Upton Lakes and our break was as lovely as ever. Beautiful setting and surroundings, very peaceful. Would highly recommend this place. All the staff can't do enough for you and are very friendly. We've booked again for later in the year!
Lovely place to stay. So peaceful. And lovely places to visit
This was an amazingly tranquil place and an easy drive for some lovely places to eat.
Wonderfully peaceful lodge. Very clean and tidy!
This is our second visit to Upton Lakes but our first with our dog. We didn't know what to expect when staying in a pet friendly cabin but we were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and clean it was. The location was perfect for our dog Zeus (fields and walks) but there isn't alot in the surrounding areas (perfect get away to avoid the world). All in all a beautiful retreat and a lovely break from reality!
Lovely weekend in comfortable and clean lodge. I've only given it a 9 because the hot tub lid blew off in strong wind and I had to move my car in the middle of the night just in case!
Stayed in the uphill sanctuary with hot tub and sauna, lovely views and nice places to walk, and not far from columpton Town. We stayed in February so it was a bit cold but sunny, but we soon warmed up inside with the wood burner going.
Fantastic place to relax and unwind from the stresses of life. 😊
