Hornbeam Country Park Reviews

"We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was spotless and modern, plenty of space, though the beds could use some new mattresses. Still, lovely place!"
Emma - Aug 2020
"Lovely, peaceful break"
Emma - Aug 2020
"Weve stayed in loads of lodges before, but this one honestly tops them all. Its super cosy and perfect for the family, especially with the hot tub-it was such a treat! We didnt feel like going out at all because everything was just so lovely. The place was spotless and all the little extras like towels made things so much easier. Plus, its really quiet, so we got proper rest. Definitely a great find, well be back soon!"
Emily - Mar 2020
"Absolutely loved staying here with our senior collie. The place was perfect for him and well definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!"
Alex - Jan 2020
"Our Hornbeam Country Park review: Wow, what a stunning place! The lodge had such a luxurious vibe, we couldnt believe how amazing it was in person. We stayed in signature 8and honestly, the photos dont do it justice - its even better! Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, from books and games in the chest by the dining area to super comfy sofas. The bed? Absolutely unreal, so cosy! They even had a hairdryer hidden in the bathroom drawer, plus a cute complimentary cosmetics bag with some goodies inside. We got a lovely welcome pack with cookies, teas, coffees and more - such a nice touch. The hot tub was spotlessly clean, heated and ready when we arrived and it quickly became my favourite part of the trip. The only hiccup was finding the place late at night - the sign was a little small, so we got a bit lost, but thats understandable. Overall, we had a fantastic relaxing break and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Wed definitely come back and highly recommend it - just book it already!"
Amelia - Nov 2019
"We had a lovely short escape for half term, but honestly, it felt way too short! Next time, were definitely booking the full week instead of just Monday to Friday. The lodge itself was one of the nicest places weve stayed in; super comfy and well-appointed. The only downside was the lack of facilities on-site, which was a bit of a letdown, but since we were out exploring every day, it didnt matter much. Theres so much to see nearby, rain or shine-Knightsayers in Tiverton is a must if the weather stays nice. Also loved the woodl and walks and the military museums like The Keep in Dorchester and Fleet Air Museum are perfect for plane and history buffs like us. Definitely a great trip!"
Alex - Nov 2019
"This place was fantastic! We didnt want to leave and are already looking forward to next years visit. Absolutely loved it!"
Alex - Nov 2019
"We had such a relaxing break, just what we needed. The lodge was spotless, beautifully presented and had all the essentials. Definitely a peaceful getaway wed recommend to anyone!"
Emma - Jul 2019
"Really enjoyed our stay, the weather was lovely and the site was super peaceful. Shops nearby too!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We really enjoyed our stay! The weather was absolutely perfect, which meant most of our time was spent chilling on the lodges balcony, soaking up the sun. The hot tub was a nice touch too - perfect for unwinding after a day out. The area around the lodge is stunning and since we took our dog along, we did a lot of exploring on foot. Theres a local shop nearby and an Indian restaurant, but if youre after more options, Honiton is only about 15 minutes away and has a decent variety of shops and eateries. We brought some of our own food because the kitchen is well-equipped, but there are plenty of places around to dine out. Overall, wed definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing break with beautiful surroundings. Wed happily come back!"
Emily - Jan 1970
"The place has a lovely vibe, especially during these times, but it's a bit remote for families wanting easy access to local attractions. Still worth a visit though!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was spotless and modern, plenty of space. Only thing is, the beds could use new mattresses, but otherwise great!"
Emily Harper - Jan 1970
"Absolutely loved our stay! The place was perfect for our elderly collie and were already planning to come back. Highly recommend to anyone needing a break."
Sam - Jan 1970
"Absolutely loved the experience! Honestly, we didnt want to leave. Hoping to return and see everyone again next year!"
James - Jan 1970
"We stayed in one of the Signature Spa Lodges and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was spotless and felt really modern, giving off such a good vibe the moment you walk in. The kitchen was well-equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, wine chiller and a big fridge freezer-really handy! The hot tub was perfect after a day out and the beds were so comfy, we didnt want to get up. The staff, especially Sarah and the cleaning team, were super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely walk to the nearby lake to feed the ducks and geese. The beach is about 25 minutes away, so we made the most of the coast before relaxing back at the lodge. Theres a little shop in Dunkeswell for basics, or we just drove to Tesco in Honiton. Luckily, the weather was great, but I bet its cosy in winter with all the radiators. Definitely worth splurging on the Signature lodges with hot tubs!"
Harriet - Jan 1970
"Overall, the place was decent, but a couple of basics were missing-no tea towel or dishcloth, which was a bit of a hassle. Also, no frying pan, so we ended up buying one ourselves. The dishwasher worked fine, but some items needed a good scrub beforeh and. Not perfect, but manageable!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Lovely, peaceful break"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, lovely place indeed!"
Rachel - Jan 1970
"We had a lovely short break over half term, though it went by way too fast! Definitely wishing wed booked a full week instead of just Monday to Friday. The lodge itself was one of the nicest places weve stayed in; really comfy and well-kept. The only downside was the lack of facilities on the site, but with so much to do outside, it didnt really matter. We spent our days exploring and theres plenty to see rain or shine. Knightsayers in Tiverton is worth a visit if the weathers good and the woodl and walks are simply beautiful. The Keep in Dorchester and Fleet Air Museum are perfect for history buffs or plane enthusiasts. Wed love to go back!"
Alex - Jan 1970
"We've stayed in quite a few lodges over the years, but this one really stood out. Its honestly the best we've experienced and were already planning to come back soon. We barely wanted to leave because its so cosy and perfect for the whole family, especially with the hot tub. Everything was spotless and we appreciated all the little touches like towels being provided - made things so much easier. It was so peaceful too, never got disturbed. Such a great place!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Wow, we had such a lovely stay at this lodge! Honestly, the photos don't do it justice - its so much more luxurious and cosy than we expected. We stayed in Signature 8and everything was just perfect. The sofas were super comfy and the bed was honestly the best sleep Ive had in ages! They had thought of everything, like books and games in the chest by the dining table and even a hairdryer tucked away in the bathroom drawer, plus a complimentary cosmetics bag with some lovely goodies. The welcome pack with cookies, teas, coffee etc was a lovely touch and the hot tub was spotlessly clean and heated, ready to unwind in. My favourite part, for sure! The only hiccup was finding the place - we got a bit lost because it was late and the sign was quite small, but thats a minor thing. The staff we spoke to was really friendly and helpful. Honestly, we had such a relaxing time and would definitely come back. Would highly recommend - book now!"
Amelia - Jan 1970
"We noticed the coconut cover around the hot tub could use a refresh and some extra length for better privacy, which would make relaxing much easier. Also, the decking rails need a good treat with mould remover, as once the green mould takes hold, its tricky to get rid of. Just some small tweaks that could save hassle later. Its a bit frustrating trying to unwind when youre doing handyman stuff all the time!"
Sam - Jan 1970
"Perfect for unwinding after work"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spot-on, super comfy and clean. The location was perfect-peaceful but close enough to the coast and local sights."
James - Jan 1970
"We stayed in a really nice, spacious lodge that was spotlessly clean and well kitted out. The place was perfect for exploring the area and its a great base if youre bringing your dog - loads of lovely spots within half an hours drive. Finding the entrance was a bit of a faff; no signs anywhere, so it took us about ten minutes to figure out where to go, even when we were on the right road. The hot tub wasnt hot on arrival, so we missed out on one evening, which was a shame, but overall, we had a lovely stay!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed the stay, the hot tub was definitely a highlight! Great space."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Lovely stay, definitely coming back soon"
Emily Johnson - Jan 1970
"We had a really nice stay at the Signature Spa Five. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and surprisingly quiet, making it a great spot to unwind. Its perfect for exploring the area - with local shops and takeaways just a short walk away and Honiton only about 10 minutes drive. Just a heads up, WiFi was a bit patchy, so bring your own if you need it. Definitely recommend!"
James - Jan 1970
"Overall, we had a lovely stay! The place was spotless and we were really impressed with the cleanliness. Only minor hiccup was finding an acrylic nail in one bathroom, but it didnt ruin the trip. In fact, two friends booked after seeing our pics and hearing about it!"
Emma Clarke - Jan 1970
"Our first trip to Devon and were already planning to return! The drive from Yorkshire was quite long, but honestly, so worth it. We spent most of our last day just chilling in the lodge - super cosy and peaceful. Felt just like being at home, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommended!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We had a fabulous break here as a family of 4. Kids ages 8 and 5 and the dog. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful and the hot tub was the highlight. The staff are so friendly and welcoming . I arrived super early as my plan was to explore before checking in however my daughter wasn’t feeling well at all and we took the chance to ask if early checking was an option . I couldn’t believe how easy it was I explained the situation and I had my keys in minutes and the little one tucked up in bed . Thank you very much for that . The hot tub was checked everyday by a lovely man who gave us so much information about the best beaches and things to visit . He had a dog named Myrtle that my kids adored. The site itself however in the middle of nowhere is situated in the middle of a housing estate but there is a local shop,Indian restaurant and chippy. Supermarkets are a 15 min drive away . This is an ideal base to stay to visit places . You are 30-40 mins away from nearly every beach. A car is a must if you are staying here and planing to go places as nothing around within walking distance that we found other an a short woodland walk that was full of flies. We booked looking for a quiet chilled experience as we wanted to completely unwind and that is exactly what we got and enjoyed."
Emma - Jul 2022
"Staff very good, always helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure that everything is okay."
Malcolm - Jun 2022
"I really enjoyed my staff at hornbeam. We stayed for a long weekend. The lodge was very nice, clean and had all amenities. The site was quiet so if you want a piece full break Hornbeam is an ideal location."
James - Jun 2022
"Excellent place for a holiday break, there are many places in the area worthwhile visiting, I highly recommend the donkey sanctuary. My wife and I will definitely be returning in the future."
