"Our Midsomer Lodges review: We stayed at this charming lodge and absolutely loved the stunning views of Glastonbury Tor. The place was spotless and the hot tub was always ready for us. "We really enjoyed our stay. The place was spotless, comfy and well-organised. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and the facilities suited us perfectly. Definitely recommend!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We loved the beautiful views of Glastonbury Tor from the lodge, it really is a stunning spot. The place felt very spacious and had high-quality fittings, which made our stay comfortable. There were just a few tiny things that could be improved, like adding more hooks for hanging clothes and more crockery and cutlery so we didnt have to run the dishwasher so often. The surrounding area is packed with things to see and do, so we definitely want to come back. No complaints about the go active stuff, as it wasnt offered."
Emma Collins - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge! Its super stylish, comfy and spotlessly clean. The design is clever and its got everything we needed. The hot tub was fantastic after a long day and the views are simply stunning. Plus, its close to great spots like Cheddar Gorge and Stourhead gardens, which made the trip even better."
Sam - Oct 2023
"We really enjoyed our trip overall, but it wouldve been perfect with a nearby pub or takeaway delivery options. Having to drive everywhere was a bit of a pain, especially since the lodges are quite tucked away."
Emma - Aug 2020
"Great, would recommend"
Emma - Aug 2020
"We had a fantastic stay! The views were truly breathtaking and the owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is perfect-easy to explore the coast, Bath, Wells and even the Fleet Air Museum just a short drive away. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Definitely recommend for a relaxing trip!"

Rachel - Jul 2020
"Weve stayed at quite a few lodges over the years, both with family and just the two of us and honestly, Midsomer Lodges st and out as some of the best. The views are stunning and the lodges themselves are super comfy and well-equipped - really nicely furnished too! What made it even better was the hosts, who were genuinely friendly and always up for a quick chat, especially when we were checking the hot-tubs. Shepton Mallets just a short drive away with everything you need, including shops, supermarkets and yep, a Greggs - perfect for a quick bite!"
Alex - Jul 2020
"Really looking forward to coming back"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We recently stayed at the Valley View 2-bedroom Lodge for four nights, from the 13th to the 17th of August and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The lodge felt just like a home away from home, beautifully decorated and super well equipped. The beds were really comfy and the en-suites with walk-in showers were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a wine fridge and a coffee machine, which made mornings so much better. Our boys loved having access to the smart TV in their room, as they could connect to Netflix and chill after a day out exploring. The hot tub was spotlessly clean, checked twice daily by the friendly owners who were always happy to help if we needed anything. The location was perfect - private, peaceful and with breathtaking views of Glastonbury countryside and Glastonbury Tor. We really couldnt have asked for a better stay and are already looking forward to coming back!"
Emily - Jul 2020
"We recently stayed at Midsomer Lodges in the Exmoor View lodge and honestly, it was such a lovely experience. The views of the countryside are absolutely breathtaking and it felt so peaceful and relaxing. From the moment we arrived, Rupert and Maria made us feel really welcome, leaving us with a thoughtful handwritten note, wine, cheese, crackers and chutney-such a nice touch! Our dog was spoiled with treats, a ball and his own food, which was great. The lodge itself was cosy and beautifully decorated, really homely. The hot tub was definitely our favourite spot, day and night. Were already planning our next visit!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We had an absolutely lovely stay! The hosts were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The lodge itself was so cosy and plush, with stunning views that made every morning special. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and we appreciated how well it was maintained. There are some charming spots nearby to explore, making it a perfect getaway. Can't wait to come back again, honestly, it was just perfect!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"Absolutely loved our stay! The lodges panoramic views, especially Glastonbury Tor in the distance, were stunning. Its the most well-equipped and solidly built place we've stayed at in the UK. Definitely recommend it!"
Mark - Jan 1970
"We had a fantastic stay! The views were truly breathtaking and the hosts made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. The place is well-equipped with everything you could need, which was a real bonus. Plus, the location is perfect - easy access to the coast, Bath, Wells and even the Fleet Air Museum, all within about 20 minutes."
James - Jan 1970
"Great stay, would recommend!"
Emma Carter - Jan 1970
"We had such a lovely time at Valley View last week! Rupert really made us feel at home and were already planning to come back next year with our dog. The scenery is breathtaking, super peaceful and we felt completely safe with the Covid measures in place. Definitely a top UK break!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, looking forward to next years visit! Thanks!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We absolutely loved it! It was super clean and well stocked. The views were stunning. I loved how our toddler was safe as the outside area was secure with a gate. The stars at night also are amazing, if you go make sure you sit out with a blanket and star gaze. Honestly couldn’t fault it."
Abbie - Aug 2022
"Beautiful lodge with an amazing view. The extra touches with the welcome package for both us and our doggie were so thoughtful. We loved our stay and it is certainly on our 'need to go back' list ?"
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Excellent location and property, finished to a high standard, views all around wete stunning"
David - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodges, clearly a lot of thought, effort and expense has gone into them. The views are wonderful too and located really well for getting to cheddar, Wookey hole, Glastonbury, the coast etc. Everything is very professional but also a friendly touch too."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge in very peaceful surroundings. Everything you need is provided and the hot tub is great. We have already booked to come back!"
Clare - Jun 2022
"Stunning views and spotless lodge and hot tub. Perfect for wildlife and bird spotting too. Cannot recommend highly enough for a peaceful, luxurious break."
Julie - Jun 2022
"A really lovely lodge with stunning wide angle views across to Glastonbury Tor and beyond. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, and the owners were friendly and clearly took pride in paying attention to the little details. We found the location a great base for visiting Wells, Bath, Bristol, Cheddar/Wookey, the nearby coast, Stourhead and Longleat. At the end of our exploring each day, it was so lovely to come back to base and chill in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the farmhouse. We will certainly return to these lodges when we are back in the area and will be raving about it to friends and family in the meantime, no doubt. Many thanks to everyone who works hard to maintain the site and lodge so well."
Vanessa - Jun 2022
"We (four in the party) had a wonderful week In Tor View lodge. The lodge is very well equipped to a high standard and very modern to make a holiday in the lodges very comfortable. The view from the lodge is gorgeous and you can relax in the hot tub and take it all in. The lodges on the farm at East Compton make them ideal for visiting Bath, Wells and Frome and there are numerous National Trust properties to visit within a few miles. I would recommend Midsomer Lodges for high standard accommodation and a relaxing holiday."
Keith - May 2022
"Despite heavy rain it was mostly only late in the day so didn't spoil the holiday. Lots to see & do within easy reach. Great location."
Allan - May 2022
"The lodge is absolutely excellent the amount of detail and thought gone in to making you feel welcome and relaxed was second to none. We took our 2 dogs but I think if we decide to go again we wouldn’t take them, this is because there are no paths from the lodge to anywhere local and the public foot path we tried was dangerous, over grown and looked like it hasn’t been used in years. We ended up using the bridle path which was much better but options were very limited. The facilities for the dogs was brilliant I cannot fault that. We tried to walk to a nearby pub but was being refurbished oh dear”. All in all a very relaxing lodge with excellent views, and sunsets."
Barry - May 2022
"Absolutely stunning lodge with views to die for!! They really have thought of everything. We had a lovely weekend. So peaceful waking up to the sound of baby lambs in the field next to us and birds singing. We have booked to come back in January, definitely one of our favourite places we have stayed. 5 star all the way..?"
Sally - May 2022
"What an amazing stay! The lodge and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The lodge has everything you need and the host even left a little complimentary gift which was a lovely touch! My partner and I were both so sad to leave, we will be back!"
Danielle - May 2022
"Beautiful lodge in a stunning setting, the perfect place for a quiet get away"
Victoria - May 2022
"Lovely lodge beautiful views , nothing was to much trouble"
Joanne - May 2022
"We went for a long weekend to celebrate my friends birthday. The lodge is fantastic. I can’t think of anything that wasn’t just perfect for us. The host was welcoming and helpful. The views are amazing and it was superb to be able to sit in the hot tub and look at the fantastic views. We can’t recommend enough."
