Midsomer Lodges Reviews

"The place was lovely, especially the views even though there were other lodges close by it was very quiet and peaceful, very well equipped. We would definitely recommend this lodge."

"Daughter, son and their partners stayed in Valley View and had an amazing week away with us. Loved their lodge"
Jan - Mar 2024
"Settee not comfortable to sit on as its very low and main cushion kept slipping off the front part of settee and one of the gas rings didnt work even tried lighting with a lighter but still wouldnt work and was a bit disappointed in not having a cigarette on the decking with my morning cuppa as your not allowed to smoke on the decking which should be stated at booking time really so you know before booking"
Shelley - Mar 2024
"Have visited Midsomer lodges 3 times now, enjoyed every time and will be coming back again!"

"A lovely lodge in a lovely location. The views were incredible looking across the valley towards Glastonbury Tor. The lodge was very clean and the hot tub was well maintained. We had one issue with a broken door handle and it was sorted very quickly. Really friendly and helpful owners. Will definitely consider staying again ????"

FAYE - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely time. It was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were more than helpful and facilities were just perfect for what we needed."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"A wonderful location with expansive views to Glastonbury Tor and surrounding countryside. A few very minor downs, like a few more hooks to hang clothing on, a few more pieces of crockery and cutlery to avoid running a dishwasher too often, but these very slight drawbacks were more than compensated by the high quality fittings in the lodge and the very spacious feel of the place. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Go active programmes were not a feature so no ratings for those aspects."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely stay in this stylish, comfortable, modern and clean lodge. It was well designed and thoughtfully equipped. The hot tub was excellent, and the views from the lodge were superb. It is situated near a number of interesting places to visit including Cheddar Gorge and Stourhead house and gardens, which both made good places to visit."
David - Oct 2023
"A very enjoyable holiday ,just would have been nice to have a local pub and takeaways who deliver as had to drive everywhere as lodges tucked away a few miles away from anything ."
Sarah - Aug 2020
"Would highly recommend."
Lucy - Aug 2020
"An absolutely outstanding accommodation with exceptional views, made to feel so welcome by the owners who have kitted the accommodation out with everything that you could need. Brilliant location with accessibility to all areas from the coast to the little bit of history around Bath & Wells and also the Fleet Air Museum which is about 20 minutes away."

Cathryn - Jul 2020
"I've visited lots of lodges with both my partner, and our children; together and separately. I can safely say that Midsomer lodges are some of the best we've every stayed at. The scenery is beautiful, the lodges are very well equipped and beautifully furnished. Most of all, the hosts were great. Happy to have a quick chat when checking our hot-tubs, and very friendly. Would 100% recommend, and would definitely visit again. Shepton Mallet is a close drive, and has all of the amenities you need for a short-stay, shops, supermarkets and most importantly - a Greggs."
Ryan - Jul 2020
"Superb. Cant wait to return."
Jayne - Jul 2020
"We stayed in The Valley View 2 bedroom Lodge for 4 nights from the 13-8-2020 until the 17-8-2020, the lodge was an extremely well equiped and beautifully decorated home from home with comfortable beds, great on suites with lovely walk in showers and an very well equiped kitchen with a wine fridge and coffee machine. My sons particularly enjoyed the smart tv in their room as they could connect their netflix account and relax after a day of exploring, the hot tub was very clean and checked twice a day by the very friendly owners who were always on hand if we needed anything, the lodge was spotless, private and in a great location, the crowning glory of this fantastic accomodation was the view of the Glastonbury counrtyside and Glastonbury tor, we couldn't have wished for anything more of our fabulous staycation and we cant wait to visit again."
Rachael - Jul 2020
"Our family stayed in Exmoor View lodge at Midsomer Lodges. Our stay was absolutely fantastic, the surrounding views of the country side are stunning. Our family was welcomed with bottle of wine, cheese crackers and chutney and a hand written note. Our dog had his own treats, ball and food left for him. The accomadtion was very homely and the interior design gorgeous. The owners Rupert and Maria took very good care of us throughout our stay. The hot tub was our favourite day and night. We cant wait to come back soon for a relaxing weekend break ! Thank you !"
Hayley - Jul 2020
"Excellent everything top notch from the hosts to the luxurious accommodation. Enjoyed every minute so relaxing and such beautiful views. The hot tub was a hit and is checked twice a day to ensure all ok. Its a new venture for the hosts and Im sure will be a great success which they deserve Will look forward to a return trip. Lovely places to visit not too far from the lodge a thoroughly enjoyable stay."
Karen - Jul 2020

Meg - Jan 1970
"We absolutely loved it! It was super clean and well stocked. The views were stunning. I loved how our toddler was safe as the outside area was secure with a gate. The stars at night also are amazing, if you go make sure you sit out with a blanket and star gaze. Honestly couldn’t fault it."
Abbie - Aug 2022
"Beautiful lodge with an amazing view. The extra touches with the welcome package for both us and our doggie were so thoughtful. We loved our stay and it is certainly on our 'need to go back' list ?"
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Excellent location and property, finished to a high standard, views all around wete stunning"
David - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodges, clearly a lot of thought, effort and expense has gone into them. The views are wonderful too and located really well for getting to cheddar, Wookey hole, Glastonbury, the coast etc. Everything is very professional but also a friendly touch too."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge in very peaceful surroundings. Everything you need is provided and the hot tub is great. We have already booked to come back!"
Clare - Jun 2022
"Stunning views and spotless lodge and hot tub. Perfect for wildlife and bird spotting too. Cannot recommend highly enough for a peaceful, luxurious break."
Julie - Jun 2022
"A really lovely lodge with stunning wide angle views across to Glastonbury Tor and beyond. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, and the owners were friendly and clearly took pride in paying attention to the little details. We found the location a great base for visiting Wells, Bath, Bristol, Cheddar/Wookey, the nearby coast, Stourhead and Longleat. At the end of our exploring each day, it was so lovely to come back to base and chill in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the farmhouse. We will certainly return to these lodges when we are back in the area and will be raving about it to friends and family in the meantime, no doubt. Many thanks to everyone who works hard to maintain the site and lodge so well."
Vanessa - Jun 2022
"We (four in the party) had a wonderful week In Tor View lodge. The lodge is very well equipped to a high standard and very modern to make a holiday in the lodges very comfortable. The view from the lodge is gorgeous and you can relax in the hot tub and take it all in. The lodges on the farm at East Compton make them ideal for visiting Bath, Wells and Frome and there are numerous National Trust properties to visit within a few miles. I would recommend Midsomer Lodges for high standard accommodation and a relaxing holiday."
Keith - May 2022
"Despite heavy rain it was mostly only late in the day so didn't spoil the holiday. Lots to see & do within easy reach. Great location."
Allan - May 2022
"The lodge is absolutely excellent the amount of detail and thought gone in to making you feel welcome and relaxed was second to none. We took our 2 dogs but I think if we decide to go again we wouldn’t take them, this is because there are no paths from the lodge to anywhere local and the public foot path we tried was dangerous, over grown and looked like it hasn’t been used in years. We ended up using the bridle path which was much better but options were very limited. The facilities for the dogs was brilliant I cannot fault that. We tried to walk to a nearby pub but was being refurbished oh dear”. All in all a very relaxing lodge with excellent views, and sunsets."
Barry - May 2022
"Absolutely stunning lodge with views to die for!! They really have thought of everything. We had a lovely weekend. So peaceful waking up to the sound of baby lambs in the field next to us and birds singing. We have booked to come back in January, definitely one of our favourite places we have stayed. 5 star all the way..?"
Sally - May 2022
"What an amazing stay! The lodge and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The lodge has everything you need and the host even left a little complimentary gift which was a lovely touch! My partner and I were both so sad to leave, we will be back!"
Danielle - May 2022
"Beautiful lodge in a stunning setting, the perfect place for a quiet get away"
Victoria - May 2022
"Lovely lodge beautiful views , nothing was to much trouble"
Joanne - May 2022
"We went for a long weekend to celebrate my friends birthday. The lodge is fantastic. I can’t think of anything that wasn’t just perfect for us. The host was welcoming and helpful. The views are amazing and it was superb to be able to sit in the hot tub and look at the fantastic views. We can’t recommend enough."
