"We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into converting this historic place and it shows. They were incredibly welcoming and Bonnie made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex - we enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages to soak up the history and beautiful buildings. Its a peaceful spot, ideal for relaxing. Wed definitely recommend it!"

"Our Mendip View at Wookey Hole review: We had such a lovely stay here! The setting is incredibly private and scenic, perfect for relaxing. The hosts were genuinely friendly and gave us all the tips we needed, without intruding on our space. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling. One thing to mention is that the cottage is quite close to Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a few hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn't ruin our holiday at all. Definitely recommend!"

"We had a lovely stay at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and welcoming. The place is spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The gardens perfect for dogs - private, dog-proof and furnished nicely. Lots of scenic walks nearby. Thaxteds got some good eateries too, like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!"

"We had a fantastic week at this lovely place from 15 to 22 July with our two mini dachshunds. They really loved their stay, making new friends in the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is gorgeous and the hot tub was a real treat, especially since the weather was scorching - cooling it down made it even more relaxing. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily. Being near the Stansted flight path was quite fun too - we enjoyed watching the planes come in. Definitely recommend!"

"We had an amazing weekend here and honestly, it was just what we needed. The place was perfect for us and our dogs, who absolutely adored the underfloor heating and playing outside in the garden. "Honestly, we wanted to give full marks but the parking situation really lets it down. The outside space is tight and those concrete lumps are a nightmare-hit them more than once, risking damage, especially at night. Such a shame because otherwise, everything else is pretty good. Hope they sort it out soon!"

"Perfect, if you are looking for a nice quiet getaway. The local pub is a good recommendation for reasonably priced and nice food. A good base to be able to go to Weston super mare, bath, Bristol, cheddar and Longleat. The hot tub went down a great success with all the family."
