Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat Reviews

"We loved this cottage! Its really spacious for four, super peaceful and perfect for unwinding. We had such a relaxing, stress-free break."
Emma - Mar 2025
"We had a lovely time at this lodge. The rooms were spacious, especially the four-bedroom layout, making it perfect for us. Definitely coming back!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely stay at Plas Isaf! After our usual retreat shut down, wed been on the hunt for somewhere special and honestly, this place ticked all the boxes. The lodges are stunning, really top quality and kept spotless. Its so peaceful here, perfect for unwinding, but still close enough to explore North Wales. Lisa and the team made us feel really welcome too. Already planning our next trip!"
Jamie - Mar 2025
"Weve just got back from a week-long stay at a lovely lodge in Caerwys and honestly, it was a pretty great experience. The lodge itself was super modern and in fantastic condition - definitely feels brand new, with a really spacious open-plan living and kitchen area. Each bedroom has its own en suite, which was handy, especially for a group like ours. What really made our trip special was the staff. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. Lisa on reception was so friendly and helpful, answering all our pre-arrival questions and taking note of our requests. It was such a relief to meet someone so welcoming after a long journey. Then theres Greg - what a legend! He seems to do every job around the place, from maintenance to grass cutting. Honestly, nothing was too much trouble for him. You could tell he genuinely cares about the site and the guests. Every staff member we encountered was chatty, approachable and made us feel right at home. The lodges are quite new, so everything looked fresh and well-maintained. We honestly cant understand why this site is only ranked second in Caerwys because its miles ahead of the other one we visited - Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat. That place felt a bit tired compared to this one. Now, on to a minor issue, just to be fair. Every morning, we woke up to the smell of sewage, which was a bit unpleasant. We found out its because of the eco-friendly system they use - the shower traps hold very little water, so when the toilet is flushed, the smell gets sucked away. The fix is simple - just running water into the shower tray helps, but its a bit of a pain to remember every time. Wed recommend taking some air freshener along, just in case. Were not sure if this problem is limited to our lodge or if its across the site, but its worth noting. Overall, we had a lovely stay and despite that small hiccup, wed definitely come back. The staff, the lodges and the relaxed vibe make it a place worth visiting!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"Our Plas Isaf Lodge Retreat review: We had a fantastic stay at this lodge! Its super clean and comfy, with TVs in every room and loads of plug sockets. The kitchen was well equipped and the washer/dryer was a lifesaver. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Exactly what we needed!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Great deal, highly recommend"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"Great site, very clean and well looked after! Definitely recommend."
Emma - Mar 2025
"We recently stayed at Plas Isaf for a three-night family getaway with our three-month-old and honestly, it was a mixed bag. The lodge was generally clean, but some of the finer details couldve done with a bit more attention. We spotted cobwebs behind the TVs and on the ceilings, some fluff on the bedding and a bit of peeling paint on the bathroom wall. Nothing too major, but definitely room for improvement. The site itself is a bit limited in facilities, which wed expected, but its worth mentioning that theres no shop or way to buy essentials on site. Theres a beer fridge in reception, which is a strange choice, but no basic groceries or supplies. Caerwys is just a couple of minutes drive away, so its not a big deal, but if youre relying on public transport or taxi, its a bit tricky since walking isnt really an option despite what Google Maps suggests. Maybe some basic provisions sold on-site would be a good addition.Inside the lodge, theres no welcome pack or guide to help you find things and no cleaning products provided either. So if youre planning to do a quick tidy-up or freshen things up, youre out of luck. It wouldve been nice to have at least some soap or dishwasher tablets. The biggest issue for us was the noise. The site markets itself as a peaceful retreat, but that wasnt quite the case during our stay, especially on the Friday and Saturday nights. On the Friday, we were surrounded by hen parties and groups of adults partying until around 2am. I get that they accept these bookings, but it would be better if they separated the groups more clearly. Hen parties and adult groups should be on one side, families on the other - thatd make a huge difference. Some of the noise was so loud we could hear it from lodges four or five away! We did complain about our immediate neighbours, who were in the hot tub blasting music until late and the security staff were very friendly. However, its unclear if anything was actually done, as the noise continued until 2am despite our complaint at midnight. Overall, we had a good time, but these issues really do need addressing. Especially the noise levels - better separation or stricter noise controls would make a big difference. We might consider returning, but only if these problems are sorted out!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Our weekend away kicked off with a lovely greeting from Lisa, who kindly showed us to our lodge. We stayed in lodge 44 and honestly, it was stunning! Very sleek, spotless and so peaceful inside. The best part was the private decking - no one overlooking us, just gorgeous views of the trees, with birds chirping and water flowing nearby. It was just perfect for unwinding and escaping the hustle. The natural surroundings were breathtaking, both during the day and under the stars at night. We loved how close it was to the town, just a quick drive, or about 20 minutes to Mold if we wanted a bit more action. Were already planning to come back because this place really stole our hearts - not just for the scenery but also because we got engaged there! Absolutely unforgettable!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"We absolutely love this place! We've been coming back for two years now and this time we stayed in Lodge 10. The mornings are perfect with the sun shining on the hot tub until early afternoon, making it super peaceful and private. The lodge is modern, spotless and really well-kept. The only minor thing was that the Smart TV didnt have apps like Netflix or Disney Plus, which wouldve been nice for relaxing evenings. The staff are genuinely friendly and always happy to recommend local spots. Plus, the North Wales coast is fantastic for long dog walks on those lovely sandy beaches. Can't wait to come back!"
Emily - Mar 2025
"We stayed at Llwelyn Lodge and found it quite cosy and spotless overall, though the floors did need a sweep when we arrived. Wooden floors definitely benefit from a quick hoover now and then! Also, itd be handy to have some oven gloves and a few more plates, as we kept washing up. Sadly, no bath, which was a bit of a letdown, but still a comfortable stay overall."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Very comfortable stay, would definitely return!"
Sarah - Mar 2025
"Beautiful place with friendly staff, loved it!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the location was spot on!"
James - Mar 2025
"Great spot! The lodge was super spacious and spotless, perfect for hanging out with friends. Lots of nearby activities too. Definitely recommend and wed happily return. Lovely peaceful surroundings!"
Sarah Collins - Feb 2025
"Our stay at Plas Isaf was really enjoyable! The lodge was beautifully decorated, creating a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The hot tub was perfect, especially in the chilly weather-it made our weekend even more relaxing. We did encounter a minor hiccup with the electric tripping a few times, but the staff responded quickly every time, sending the handyman over within minutes-top service! Towards the end of our trip, the receptionist was kind enough to let us stay until 3pm on departure day, which was much appreciated and gave us more time to enjoy the facilities. Theres not much to do right near the park, but if youre up for a bit of a drive, there are some attractions nearby. Honestly, we loved just unwinding and doing absolutely nothing all weekend. Were already planning to come back! Thanks so much, Plas Isaf!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and modern."
Emma Carter - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was just right. The location was spot on, close to everything we wanted to see. The hot tub was definitely a highlight-so relaxing! Overall, a fantastic place, would definitely come back. We found the lodge to be perfect for our needs. Everything was clean and comfortable, no complaints there. The only thing was, it couldve been a bit quieter. But honestly, we had an awesome time, loved it!"
Alex - Feb 2025
"We had a lovely four-night stay. The lodge was super comfy and well equipped, with plenty of space. The hot tub was a real treat after exploring nearby beaches. Nice dog walk too!"
Claire - Feb 2025
"Absolutely loved the stay! The lodge was perfect for unwinding and the scenery was simply stunning. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend it!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was superbly comfortable."
Emma - Jan 2025
"Very comfortable and well looked after"
Emma - Apr 2024
"The lodge was lovely, just a few small tweaks could make it perfect. The hot tub really made our stay special!"
Emma Brooks - Apr 2024
"We recently stayed at this lodge and honestly, its one of the best places weve been to. Everything feels so fresh and modern inside - really nice design. We loved how pet friendly it was; our dog loved it too! The site is super relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a day out. The staff were so friendly and quick to help when we had a small issue with the door (our mistake, really). Sadly, we didnt get a welcome pack when booking through Hoseasons, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, well definitely be coming back!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"The lodge is stunning, really! We loved the bathrooms and showers - theyre lovely. Maybe adding a rug in the lounge could make it even cosier and warmer underfoot, but overall, fantastic stay."
Emily Carter - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The park itself is beautifully maintained and the location is perfect for exploring North Wales. The lodge was spotless, though a bit worn in some spots, like the tape on the floors. The staff were super friendly and sorted out a cooker issue quickly. The beds were comfy and the hot tub was a real treat after a day out. Wed definately come back, its a lovely spot!"
Jamie - Apr 2024
"We stayed from Monday to Friday and check-in on Friday was strict at 4pm, with checkout by 10am on Monday. The lodge was really lovely and modern and the hot tub was fantastic-such a nice touch! The view from the lodge was super relaxing too. On the downside, there was no welcome pack with basics like bread or milk, which was a bit disappointing. The site is still a work in progress, so some areas arent very pretty yet and we noticed a bit of wear and tear in the new lodge - paintwork and taped floors. Also, only two dishwasher tablets were provided and no washing machine tablets. Beds werent the most comfy and the lounge sofa could do with some cushions. Oh and no mirrors in any of the bedrooms in our 3-bed premier lodge - that was a bit of a pain for us ladies wanting to dry our hair!"
Charlotte - Mar 2024
"Honestly, the lodge was pretty comfy and the beds were lovely and made up when we arrived, which was a nice touch. We did get there about 20 minutes early, but were told to wait until 4 pm, so dont expect to get your keys early unless youve sorted it beforeh and. The on-site facilities are pretty much non-existent, just a few bits in the reception area. Theres a convenience store about a mile away and a pub, but both are quite a walk. We took a trip to some seaside towns nearby, which was really lovely and the lodges make a great spot for exploring North Wales. Overall, a decent stay if youre not fussed about on-site amenities."
Emma - Mar 2024
"Great spot, lovely lodge, stunning surroundings, highly recommend!"
