Ploony Hill Lodge Reviews

Scott - Oct 2025
What a wonderful mini moon we had! We brought our two dogs with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the very large enclosed garden and lovely walks around the area. We wanted peace and quiet after our wedding and that is what we got! The lodge is located in a beautiful setting with lots of wildlife. The lodge was incredibly clean and well equipped. The hosts had kindly supplied us with necessities such a toilet paper and hand soap etc so we didnt need to worry when we had first arrived. The hot tub was an awesome addition and we used it everyday! We will be coming back for another holiday in the future. Would highly recommend, thank you!
Hannah - Sep 2025
We had a short break away for 3 nights at the Lodge. Its secluded in a lovely piece of countryside, exactly what we wanted for a quiet get away. The hot tube was fantastic especially after a long walk to relax in. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs. The lodge was clean and well equipped with a cosy feel to it. We would definitely stay here again.
Arnas - Aug 2025
We stayed at Plooney Lodge for three nights as a family of 4 two kids, aged 7 and 10. We loved absolutely everything about it. It was very clean with fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was so lovely and we enjoyed using it every day. The area was so peaceful. The surroundings are stunning. We would definitely recommend this to everyone. Thank you, Indre and Arnas
Sarah - Aug 2025
Such a beautiful charming lodge with everything you need for a cute cosy break away in nature we stayed for my daughters 3rd birthday, the kids loved it so much outdoor space for them to run around. Will definitely be recommending & re booking ploony hill is a hidden gem
Rowland - Jul 2025
Sky TV had no signal during the stay and WiFi was very slow and not working as per instructions in booking, this should be made clear to guests. Being near a farm there were horrendous amounts of flies during the day and evening if the doors were left open for short periods of time, this made the visit much less enjoyable but again needs highlighting to guests.
Danielle - Jul 2025
Lovely stay at plooney lodge. Lindsey was really helpful with anything we needed help with in the lodge and with information about the area. The lodge is in a great secluded spot with access to walks on the local farm land where all you'll meet is the odd sheep. The garden is completely secure for the dogs and young children to run about in. The hottub is perfect to relax in especially on the odd rainy day. Clean and well maintained. Would be happy to come back in the future.
Adam - Jun 2025
Perfect chill out holiday. Everything was bang on, listing described perfectly & would highly recommend. Only one downside, party of 3 & we were left about 18th of a loo roll, not good in the middle of nowhere.
Karen - May 2025
Lovely lodge with everything we needed. Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. The wood burner and hot tub with blue tooth was an added bonus. Would definitely book again.
Susan - May 2025
We had a lovely holiday at Ploony Hill Lodge. The Lodge is comfortable and well equipped. Darren and Lindsay were lovely and extremely helpful. The surrounding area was beautiful and full of wildlife. We even saw a deer. Only negative comment would be about the lanetrack to the Lodge, which was full of pot holes and very bumpy, which wasn't good for my chronic pain condition. However we plan to return frequently. One of the best places we've stayed x
Beth - Apr 2025
Loved our stay at Ploony Lodge! Very cozy and private. Enclosed garden was great for our dog and we had everything and more that we needed wine, milk, tea coffee, washing machine, iron, hairdryer, towels, games, the list goes on. Hot tub was hot on arrival and ready to use. We enjoyed the fire pit and log burner in lounge. Beds were VERY comfortable. Will definitely recommend Ploony! Thank you
Nigel - Nov 2024
Lovely quiet location and met owner when she came to collect recycling, really friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay as did our dog with the enclosed area at the lodge, bottle of wine a nice touch, thanks, Screen at side of hot tub if needed but not overlooked so never used it. Two very minor points would recommend some more gravel at front parking area to minimise muddy area, and pull down blind on door would stop dog waking up as soon as sun comes in and make for a cosier feel at night. But I must stess in no way did these affect our stay Local walks in fields for dogs straight from the lodge, walking boots needed, recomend fishpools 2mls away, water breaks it's neck waterfall 6mls and the lake at Llandridod Wells for good walks with paking available at them all.
Carl - Oct 2024
What an amazing property in an amazing location. It truly is a gem. The remoteness and tranquility is perfect for a chilled out break and the countryside walks with the dogs are outstanding. The lodge itself is so cosy and finished to a high spec. The hot tub, pizza oven and utility room are all great additions. I would highly recommend this property.
Lauryn - Oct 2024
A beautiful lodge, thats really well equipped and feels like the perfect home away from home. The lodge is in a really remote location which allows you to feel totally shut off from the world. The hot tub was an amazing way to wind down after a long day of walking. Couldnt recommend this property more.
Paul - Sep 2024
The location of the Lodge was just perfect . It was so peaceful and tranquil. There was plenty of walks for the dogs just outside your door . The added bonus was the hot tub to relax in and take in the ambience and unwind. Big American fridge freezer was a bonus,if wed have known it was a big unit would have brought more food etc with us, need to state that in advert for the lodge. Huge safe, secure garden was ideal so no need to worry about our dogs escaping ,great peace of mind. Will definitely book again,
Keiran - Aug 2024
Wow just wow
Belinda - Jul 2024
Fantastic stay at this beautiful Lodge Lindsey and Darren communicated well and made sure everything was perfect! The garden was amazing for the dog he absolutely loved it. Highly recommend will definitely be booking again. Thankyou
Nicola - Jul 2024
If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect location. Exceptionally clean, lovely surroundings and Ill definitely be going back everything was so perfect I cannot fault this lovely lodge and surroundings and my doggies feel exactly the same
Ian - Jun 2024
Really enjoyed our stay at Ploony Hill Lodge, such a beautiful place to switch off, the enclosed garden was such a benefit to let to dog out and not be worried about him. Lindsey messaged prior to us arriving with details for arrival and was very quick to respond with any queries we had during the week too.Would 100 recommend to anyone browsing on Sykes.
Fiona - May 2024
A lovely well equipped property in a peaceful countryside setting. We had a great stay at Ploony Hill Lodge, particularly enjoyed the BBQ, pizza oven and hot tub. Extra charcoal was needed for the BBQ as the coals sit on a flat base rather than a grate. There was everything needed for a very comfortable stay, from v effective underfloor heating to rolling pins for pizza making. The property has a good layout and plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 dogs. The beds were very comfortable. The walk in shower is fantastic. The utility room, washing machine and drier were very useful for drying wet clothes and boots. The enclosed garden allowed the dogs to relax inside or outdoors. Would certainly stay here again.
