Blue Jay Retreat Reviews

Sam - Sep 2024
We really enjoyed our stay! The place has a lovely, cosy vibe perfect for unwinding after a busy summer. The beds were super comfy and the house stayed warm throughout. We loved the modern look of the rooms and the hot tub was a hit with our foster child. Even though we only had 5 of us plus a baby, it never felt cramped. Sadly, the weather wasn't great for the BBQ, but overall, it was a great experience!
Harriet - May 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at this spacious cottage, perfect for our family. The kids loved the play area and tennis courtsand the hot tub was a lovely bonus! A quick tip-bring your own cutlery since the ones there are quite large. It wasn't as spotless as expected for a place at this price, but overall, we had a great time exploring the area and relaxing.
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
We really enjoyed the lodge, perfect for kids with the play areas and hot tub. Tennis was a bit uneven, but we still had fun! Definitely recommend!
Oliver - Feb 2024
We've been coming here a few times a year and it's always a good shout for a weekend away. The kids love the play areaand the views are lovely. Modern rooms and a tennis court make it even better. We're definitely planning to return within the next six months. Definitely recommend!
James - Dec 2023
The cottage's location is perfectand it's really well kitted out. Inside, it feels roomyand that hot tub is huge too!
Raj - Aug 2023
We had a lovely stay and it was a really nice holiday! The grounds were well maintained and we enjoyed some really nice food at the local Cross Keys pub. Also, we highly recommend a visit to the Iorn Works.
Emma - Feb 2023
We cannot recommend this cottage enough! We had the best weekend celebrating my boyfriend's 30th here, it is such an amazing lodge in such a beautiful locationand there is so much to do nearby! Perfect for all ages! We will definitely book again! It has everything you could want and the hot tube is massive! We really appreciated all the little personal touches too, the owners truly went the extra mile! Honestly one of the best weekends we've ever had! We cannot thank Mr & Mrs Sheppard enough!
Rachel - Jun 2022
Wow! What an absolutely fantastic place to stay in. We were a family of eight, four adults and four kidsand we had the best time ever. The location was so safe and we loved being right opposite the park! The kids were happy, which meant we were too! The owners couldn't do enough for usand we are really grateful. The hot tub was lovely and relaxing, thank you for the memories we have made, love from the Chand/Mall family x
Louise - Jun 2022

Sophie - Dec 2021
We had a wonderful stay at this place! The accommodation was really lovely and the location was perfect for exploring the area. Definitely worth a visit, we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable getaway.
John - Dec 2021
We had a fantastic 5 night stay over the Christmas period! Honestly, we can't fault anything about the lodge or the beautiful setting. Three generations enjoyed a brilliant time, making the most of the facilities like the hot tub and the tennis/football court. All you really need to bring is yourself because everything else is provided. We'll definitely be rebooking at some point!
Sarah - Oct 2021
What a stunning place to stay! It had everything we needed for a fantastic time. Super clean and spacious too. The hot tub was a lovely bonus with amazing views over a quiet location. We would totally recommend it to everyone and we will for sure be coming back. Thanks for having us!
