Rudyard Lake Lodges Reviews

We took our kids here for a week while they were off school as it is quite close to Alton towers and we have been meaning to go there for ages. Alton Towers was a big hit with our children but was very busy and we had to wait ages for some of the big rides. The lodges were great and felt a million miles from the madness of the theme parks. Our two bedroom lodge was quite big and the kitchen was fab, it had everything i needed to cook us basic meals.

Really fantastic. Excellent facilities... although the floor in the bathrooms felt a little spongy/unsafe. Will definitely be back.

Great lodge - everything we needed, clean and very well equipped. Thoughtful touches on arrival such as wine, sweets and treats for the dog. Hot tub was sparkling clean and a fabulous place to chill out in the evenings.

Lovely lodge and stunning surroundings, however for the 5 days we were there there was building work being done on the other lodges. There was a lot of people and vans around doing work which was off putting and we were not forewarned about this! Also the Hottub did not maintain its temperature very well therefore would get cold after a while, the staff were very friendly and said we could contact them if this happened however by the time we got into the hottub at night it would be too late for this. The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable, it was just a shame about all the noise! When initially phoning the contact number provided from Hoseasons with a few queries the man I spoke to was very rude and essentially said "well what do you want me to do about it" and said that he didn't know why he's number was listed as he didn't really do much with it. The lady who greeted us when we got there was very friendly and approachable, and she text us the last of the directions to prevent us getting lost which was helpful. They also allowed us to check into the lodge a few hours earlier.

A nice relaxing stay apart from the cockeral waking me up at 5am but I shut the window and it helped to block him out! Rudyard lake definitely has the scenery but Henelle Hall is the best accommodation in our experience

Fantastic lovely little place.
It's so peaceful and lovely views. Best thing is getting up in the morning to a frosty view and watching the birds.

Fun Days Out near Rudyard Lake Lodges

Alton Towers - about 11 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Gullivers Kingdom - about 21 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
