Goosedale Lodges Reviews

"Absolutely loved our stay! The owners really went above and beyond. Very relaxing, well be telling all our friends about it!"
Michael - Apr 2025
"The cottage was absolutely lovely, with a cosy log burner and hot tub that we really enjoyed. The hosts were so friendly too! Wed love to come back soon for a longer stay. It was just the peaceful getaway we needed."
Charlotte - Mar 2025
"We had a lovely stay! The owners were really friendly and went out of their way when the storm knocked out the power. The place was spotless, warm and well-equipped. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the hot tub too!"
Laura - Mar 2025
"We stayed at a charming cottage on a working farm, which felt surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people, making us feel really welcomed. The place itself is spacious and well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathroom, which was great. The bed was super comfy after long walks in the area. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely private and nicely furnished. We also enjoyed exploring Thaxted, especially The Star and The Maypole restaurants. Highly recommend!"
Simon - Feb 2025
"Our Goosedale Lodges review: We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, the owners couldnt have been kinder or more thoughtful. They were super helpful from start to finish, making us feel really welcomed. The place itself is adorable-such a charming half-timbered build with a really powerful shower and a cosy kitchen and living space. The bed was incredibly comfy and parking right next to the cottage was a real plus. Its well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the nearby fields and Thaxteds beautiful half-timbered houses and windmill. Wed definitely recommend it!"
Oliver - Jan 2025
"We had such a lovely weekend here, it really ticked all the boxes for us. The garden was perfect for the pups and they were totally spoiled with the underfloor heating-Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, our fur babies had a blast and so did we. Well definitely be coming back soon!"
Chris - Dec 2024
"The cottage was really charming and perfect for a peaceful getaway. The only thing to note is the occasional night-time plane noise from Stansted, but the hot tub definitely made up for it!"
Sarah - Dec 2024
"We loved the cosy feel of the cottage, especially the log burner and hot tub. The hosts were really friendly, making everything even better. Hope to come back soon!"
Lucy - May 2024
"We loved this cosy little cottage! Its tucked away enough for peace but still close to shops and local spots. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating in the bathroom made everything super comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie are lovely hosts. Cant wait to return!"
James - May 2024
"We had a wonderful stay, with every detail carefully considered. The hosts were super friendly and really helpful, making us feel at home. The location was just stunning. Definitely planning to come back sometime soon!"
Emily - Apr 2024
"We were after a relaxing dog walk getaway and found it spot on. Lovely comfy place, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for off-road adventures. The dog had a blast and didnt want to leave!"
Alex - Apr 2024
"Very comfy space, perfect for relaxing weekends away."
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We stayed at a lovely, well-equipped house that was super cosy, especially on a rainy December day! The bath was fantastic and the shower was a good size. The location is perfect, especially if your dogs dislike fireworks - its in the middle of nowhere, so peace all around. The property is beautifully converted and didnt bother us with the nearby flight path at all. Thanks a lot!"
Harriet - Dec 2023
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a great experience. The place felt spacious, especially the big living room, breakfast bar and dining area. The rear deck was perfect, with a hot tub for four and a garden with enough seats for six - ideal for relaxing outside. The master bedroom with the king bed and en suite was massive and the other bedrooms, including the twin, were comfortable. If theres one thing, the beds were a bit noisy since they were metal frames, but overall, we really enjoyed our stay!"
Jamie - Oct 2023
"We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away in a peaceful spot. The hosts were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, but they also respected our privacy perfectly. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day cycling around the area. One thing to bear in mind, though, is that the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us in the end, but its worth knowing if youre sensitive to sounds. Overall, a great little getaway!"
Raj Patel - Sep 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was so calming and perfect for our dog to run around."
Harper - Aug 2023
"Despite the heating issues during our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and made sure we had heaters in every room."
Lisa - Jun 2023
"Great service"
Sam - May 2023
"Had a fabulous long weekend, the views alone were worth the cost! Supermarkets are only a short drive away and the staff were lovely and helpful, even going as far as texting to let us know about potential roadworks on route! I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing."
