Goosedale Lodges Reviews

"Very comfy space, perfect for relaxing weekends away."
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We really enjoyed the lodges layout and the location is spot on, couldnt ask for better. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. That said, the lodges are starting to show their age - lots of marks on the walls and some fittings like the shower temp dials keep falling off. The bi-fold doors are broken and the sitting room chair is wobbly, needing the legs tightened. The hot tub arm is broken too, making it tricky for anyone with limited mobility to use, though we hear replacements are on the way. Its not a deal-breaker, but with a bit more TLC, it could easily be a 5-star place."
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We really enjoyed our visit, though a few things could be better. The lounge area was a bit cramped for eight of us and the dining table was too soft for comfort. Despite that, everything else was spot on! Were already booked for next year!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"Great service"
Sam - May 2023
"Our Goosedale Lodges review: We stayed at this lovely lodge recently. Its really spacious and super comfy, but unfortunately the dishwasher wasnt working. Staff were lovely though, gave us wine and washing up liquid. Overall, great stay!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We stayed at this lovely lodge recently. Its really spacious and super comfy, but sadly the dishwasher wasnt working. Staff were very apologetic and kindly offered us wine and washing up liquid. Overall, a great stay!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a great experience. The place felt spacious, especially the big living room, breakfast bar and dining area. The rear deck was perfect, with a hot tub for four and a garden with enough seats for six - ideal for relaxing outside. The master bedroom with the king bed and en suite was massive and the other bedrooms, including the twin, were comfortable. If theres one thing, the beds were a bit noisy since they were metal frames, but overall, we really enjoyed our stay!"
Jamie - Jan 1970
"Despite the heating issues during our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and made sure we had heaters in every room."
Lisa - Jan 1970
"Very comfy and elegant"
Jamie - Jan 1970
"The place was absolutely gorgeous, super modern and really well thought out. The staff, especially Niamh, went above and beyond to help us out. Would definitely recommend it!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, though we did notice it was missing scissors, which wouldve been handy for opening food bags. Space was a bit tight for eight people to all sit together, but we managed to make it work somehow."
Emma - Jan 1970
"We loved this cosy little cottage! Its tucked away enough for peace but still close to shops and local spots. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating in the bathroom made everything super comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie are lovely hosts. Cant wait to return!"
James - May 2025
"The cottage was absolutely lovely, with a cosy log burner and hot tub that we really enjoyed. The hosts were so friendly too! Wed love to come back soon for a longer stay. It was just the peaceful getaway we needed."
Charlotte - May 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spotless, comfy and the hot tub was a real highlight!"
Emma - May 2025
"We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, the owners couldnt have been kinder or more thoughtful. They were super helpful from start to finish, making us feel really welcomed. The place itself is adorable-such a charming half-timbered build with a really powerful shower and a cosy kitchen and living space. The bed was incredibly comfy and parking right next to the cottage was a real plus. Its well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the nearby fields and Thaxteds beautiful half-timbered houses and windmill. Wed definitely recommend it!"
Oliver - May 2025
"We truly enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead. The cottage was well-equipped and perfect for relaxing walks right from the doorstep. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Lovely experience!"
Emma - May 2025
"From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel super welcome. They've really put a lot of effort into preserving the charm of this old building and it shows. The place is perfect for a chilled-out break, with everything you might need. The location is spot on - in a lovely part of Essex. Wed definitely suggest taking a wander around Thaxted and the surrounding villages to soak up the history and stunning architecture. Its well worth it!"
Emma - May 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was so calming and perfect for our dog to run around."
Harper - May 2025
"We had a wonderful, peaceful stay. The cottage was spotless, well-stocked and had some lovely little touches. Definitely recommending it to friends!"

"We had such a lovely stay at the cottage! The location was perfect-peaceful and super relaxing, with stunning farm views. The horses were a nice surprise and the owners were genuinely friendly, making sure we felt at home. Definitely a spot wed recommend for anyone wanting a quiet getaway."
Emma - May 2025
"The cottage was really charming and perfect for a peaceful getaway. The only thing to note is the occasional night-time plane noise from Stansted, but the hot tub definitely made up for it!"
Sarah - May 2025
