About Haywood Oaks Golf and Country Club

Haywood Oaks Golf and Country Club is located on the edge of Sherwood Forest and is surrounded by beautiful hills and forest creating the perfect weekend break location. With close proximity to nearby towns, guests can easily explore the surrounding area. Or they can stay on site and take part in the activities available including golf and rifle shooting.

The golf and country club has a variety of activities for guests to take part in. This includes golf, air rifle shooting where guests can take part in the challenge, archery, clay pigeon shooting and fishing. Whether you’re an experienced shooter or golfer, or you’re wanting to learn a new skill, this would be a great opportunity to do so. Enjoy the outdoors and take in the beautiful surroundings whilst taking part in these fun activities.

The accommodation on site is luxurious lakeside pods. They vary in size and luxury with the plus and VIP having private hot tubs. They all have outdoor seating areas so guests can eat, drink and relax outdoors. The pods don’t have separate rooms but are set out like a studio where the bed, living area and kitchen are in the same room. Because of the size, the pods are only suitable for 2 people and ideally a couple as there is only 1 double bed. The pods have fitted kitchens, ensuite shower and overlook the fishing lake.

The location of the pods allows visitors to explore the local area with ease. With close proximity to Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and Rufford Abbey, there is plenty of scenic trails to complete. Southwell, Neward and Edwinstone are all near towns that are waiting to be explored.

Haywood Oaks Golf and Country Club Reviews

"booked a lakeside View Pod Plus for 2 nights as a weekend away for my girlfriends birthday. I rang the country club to ask if I could arrive in the morning of to decorate the pod as a surprise for when we arrived later in the day. Everyone at the site was very welcoming and allowed me to arrive early to do what I needed to do in the morning and even acted as though they had never met me when we arrived later in the day. They were very accommodating throughout. Will defiantly go back!"
Macauley - Aug 2020
"This was our second time here, the first time we stayed in the wooden pods and this time we stayed in the pod plus. We loved it. So peaceful and the privacy of the hot tub is fab. We went for complete relaxation and got it! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Grill wasnt working but we were given a George foreman so we could cook our bacon! We would probably book the wooden pod again next time, simply because it overlooks the lake. A wonderful two nights. Thank you"
Hayley - Jul 2020
"Amazing would highly recommend"
Emma - Feb 2020
"Had a lovely weekend break shame about the weather (storm Dennis) but have definitely said we will return in summer/autumn when weather better so that we can maximise the facilities. Friendly and welcoming staff. All you need within 5-10 minutes drive ie shops, pubs and restaurants."
Amy - Feb 2020
"It's been excellent I cannot fault it."
Emily - Feb 2020
"Good last minute get away very modern had everything we needed hot tub fab lovely peaceful break gowns and prosecco included would return"
Charlene - Nov 2019
"Lovely get away retreat we had the most perfect time, the pod and site was beautiful, staff we couldnt fault the guide book provided was just what we needed as we hadnt been in the area before overall just beautiful, cosy, relaxing, clean, happy little get away place to go."
Natalie - Oct 2019
"Lovely relaxing holiday and will be back again this year for an activities holiday. The pods are luxury throughout and highly maintained. Yes they are small they are pods but I'm not doing a salsa class in them so me and my partner there was plenty of space. Was happy the pull down bed was already made I did think we would have to put quilt and pillows on and off every night but no and you don't do anything with settee either so this was a real bonus no fath just pull down and jump on, brill.
Really liked the no expense spared approach to this site been on hot tub trips before and UK breaks before and always an £100 extra is to have champagne robes and that on arrival, not here included!! Couldn't believe arrived bottle of prosecco chilling in fridge and robes in wardrobe.
Hosts were amazing and plenty to do on site from a nice walk to seeing horses sheep to clay shooting and archery. Then plenty nearby like Go ape.
Restaurants nearby are amazing we had great food if you go got to try fox and hounds but make sure you book as they were rammed from 5pm when we went. Plenty of places within 5 minute drive.
If I had to complain about anything tetley tea is no no for me but I'm a tea snob. Luckily there is a shop nearby to get some teabags lol.

Overall we will be back!!!"
Melanie - Oct 2019
"Well kept pods and is based in a lovely area. Theres plenty to do but also a nice place to go just to chill out"
Lois - Sep 2019
"Will definitely go again"
Fallan - Sep 2019
"Excellent! Accommodation perfect, with a nice hot tub to relax in, in a very peaceful and scenic location."
Mark - Aug 2019
"Absolutely loved this stay.....
Nice and relaxing , plenty to do within a short drive or a few activities on the grounds.
Pod was brilliant and didnt feel too small at all.
Hot tub was fabulous and the chilled Prosecco and dressing gowns was a lovely touch,so thank you very much.
The weather for the weekend was very hot in the 30s so the pod was very hot even with fan on, but all in all a really lovely weekend.
Thank you and hope to return again.
Absolutely amazing
Will definitely recommend x"
Jenna - Aug 2019
"Lovely little break! I would visit again, the only reason for some lower ratings was having ants in our pod and the kitchen blind not being able to be secured down, letting in lots of light very early. These things didnt ruin our trip though. I would still recommend visiting!"
Catherine - May 2019
"Will be booking to go back again."
Stacey - Apr 2019
"My boyfriend and I stayed in the pod plus for 2 nights and it was such a wonderful stay. Very friendly staff and complimentary items provided such as prosecco :) was very peaceful and the view from the pod overlooking the lake was so nice, especially eating breakfast looking out. I would recommend taking pre cooked food and heating it in the microwave or eating out as the kitchen is very small so a little awkward to cook properly but this didn't affect our stay at all! The hot tub was amazing also!"
Nathalie - Feb 2019
"Lovely place nice and relaxing"
Lucy - Jan 2019
"Fabulous accommodation, spotlessly clean, perfect for a short break, staff brill, will be visiting again soon! Thank you Haywood oaks!!"

Abbey - Aug 2018
"The stay was very pleasant and would highly recommend a visit. The hot tub certainly added to the relaxing vibe. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We also had good fun trying out the archery onsite."
Andrew - Aug 2018
"Absolutely loved everything about this place! Everything you need for a few days and more... the prosecco already chilled in the fridge was a really nice touch along with the robes, towels and slippers for the hot tub (which my mum loved and didn't want to get out of!). The small supplies in the fridge and the tea and coffee were nice too, Linda was a lovely person to deal with, very friendly and helpful. I will most definitely be booking this place again"
Rebecca - Aug 2018
"A perfect weekend for my girlfriends birthday. A bottle of prosecco in the fridge on arrival was a lovely gesture. Lovely location and perfect for what we wanted which was peace and quiet and relaxing. The hot tub was fab and private. The pod had all we needed. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Couldnt have asked for a nicer weekend. Thank you. Would definitely come again"

Benjamin - Aug 2022
"We wanted a couple get-away, free from traffic and over crowding, and that’s what we got with a hot-tub! A perfect setting, with all the amenities you need. Would recommend to anyone wanting to escape for a while in the countryside. Close to local pubs and attractions if you wanted it. There is no WiFi and limited 4G signal, but the idea was to escape from the tech!"
Paul - Aug 2022
"Lovely place!!, you get everything you need and more for a small price. Facilities were amazing ?. We had full access to a lovely secluded clean hot tub. It remained warm the whole time !! The kitchen comes with a very useful and easy to use gas cooker and oven. Only downside was our grill did not work. The pod itself was surprisingly spacious and clean. The bed was very comfy however we did have difficulty pulling the bed down and ensuring it stayed up once we converted it back to the sofa. ( I would probably provide instructions for guests using the sofa bed) The bathroom Was very modern and clean. The vanity mirror with the lights was a nice touch. The only issue was the shower never remained at a nice temperature and would go hot and cold. The base of the shower floor would get flooded quickly too. The location was very scenic and we weren’t too far from shops such as Tesco and and Nottingham city centre. All very do able in a car. We did enjoy a nice walk in the local Forest and enjoyed looking at the local wildlife and horses. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and other guests were polite and quiet. Overall I would definitely recommend and I would come back again ??."
Saskia - Jul 2022
"Great staff, very welcoming and polite, lovely location in the middle of nowhere. felt the pods were a little too close to each other, could hear neighbours music and arguement, somebody was also parked in our parking space when we got there, not blaming Haywood Oakes it wasnt there fault, the weekend was lovely and relaxing overall."
Sharon - Jul 2022
"Staff very happy and helpful, lovely place"
