The accommodation on site is luxurious lakeside pods. They vary in size and luxury with the plus and VIP having private hot tubs. They all have outdoor seating areas so guests can eat, drink and relax outdoors. The pods don’t have separate rooms but are set out like a studio where the bed, living area and kitchen are in the same room. Because of the size, the pods are only suitable for 2 people and ideally a couple as there is only 1 double bed. The pods have fitted kitchens, ensuite shower and overlook the fishing lake.

The location of the pods allows visitors to explore the local area with ease. With close proximity to Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and Rufford Abbey, there is plenty of scenic trails to complete. Southwell, Neward and Edwinstone are all near towns that are waiting to be explored.

Haywood Oaks Golf and Country Club Reviews

"We booked a lakeside View Pod Plus for a quick weekend getaway, mainly to surprise my partner for her birthday. I called the country club beforeh and to see if I could arrive early to decorate the pod and they were so friendly about it. When we got there later, it was like we'd never even spoken - super smooth! Everyone was really welcoming and flexible, which made all the difference. Honestly, well be returning for sure! Its the little touches that count and they really got it right. Cant wait to go back!"
Alex Harper - Aug 2020
"Weve now stayed here twice and honestly, its such a lovely spot! Last time we went for the wooden pods, which are perfect if you want views of the lake and this time we tried the pod plus. The peace and privacy, especially with the hot tub, are just brilliant. The staff are always super friendly and helpful - shout out for the George Foreman when the grill was out of action! Were already planning to come back and probably stick with the wooden pod next time. Two great nights, truly relaxing!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"Great experience overall, definitely!"
Lucy - Feb 2020
"We had a lovely weekend away, though the weather was a bit rubbish thanks to Storm Dennis. Still, were definitely planning to come back in summer or autumn to enjoy the full facilities. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Shops, pubs and restaurants are all nearby within 10 minutes drive, so everythings pretty convenient."
Emma - Feb 2020
"Our Haywood Oaks Golf and Country Club review: Really pleased with it, no complaints at all."
Sarah - Feb 2020
"We had a lovely short break, the place was so modern and well-equipped. The hot tub was a real highlight, super relaxing. Gowns and prosecco were a nice touch. Would definitely come back!"
Emma - Nov 2019
"We had such a lovely escape! The site was stunning and the pod was super cosy and clean. The guidebook was really handy, especially since wed never been around there before. Overall, its a peaceful, relaxing spot thats just perfect for a happy little break. Cant wait to go back!"
Emma - Oct 2019
"We had such a lovely, relaxing getaway that were already planning to return this year for an activities holiday. The pods were absolutely top-notch-luxurious all the way and impeccably maintained. Sure, they are small, but honestly, we werent expecting a ballroom! My partner and I found plenty of space; its not like were doing salsa in there. The pull-down bed was a real bonus-already made up when we arrived, so no faffing about with quilts or pillows every night. No settee to mess with either, so just pull down, climb in and relax. The attention to detail on the site is clear-no expense spared. Weve done hot tub breaks before, where extra costs for robes and champagne are the norm, but here its all included! We arrived to a chilled bottle of prosecco in the fridge and robes waiting in the wardrobe-such a nice touch. The hosts are fantastic and theres loads to do on-site-walks, horse and sheep spotting, even clay shooting and archery. Plus, nearby attractions like Go Ape are just a short drive away. Food options around are brilliant too; we loved the Fox and Hounds, though you need to book early as it gets busy from 5pm. Plenty of other places within five minutes drive. Only tiny gripe is the Tetley tea - not my cup of tea (literally) but luckily, there's a shop nearby where you can grab your favourite teabags. All in all, we cant wait to come back!"
Jessie - Oct 2019
"The pods are really well maintained and in a beautiful spot. Theres loads to do, but its also perfect just to relax and unwind. We loved it!"
Emma - Sep 2019
"Great experience, highly recommend"
Jamie Carter - Sep 2019
"Really enjoyed the stay, the place was lovely and peaceful and the hot tub was just what we needed!"
James - Aug 2019
"We had such a lovely weekend here! The pod was surprisingly spacious and super comfy, not at all cramped like some reviews suggest. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially with the chilled Prosecco and cosy dressing gowns - honestly, it felt like a little luxury. The weather was scorching, hitting the 30s, so the heat inside the pod was quite intense even with the fan, but overall, it was a fantastic break. Well definitely recommend it and hope to come back soon!"
Emily - Aug 2019
"We had a lovely stay overall! The pod was charming and we'd definitely visit again. The only downsides were some ants in the kitchen and the blind that couldnt be secured, letting in early morning light. Still, these minor issues didnt spoil our trip-highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!"
Emma - May 2019
"Looking forward to our next visit already!"
Emma - Apr 2019
"We spent two nights in the pod plus and honestly, it was lovely. The staff were super friendly and the little touches like the prosecco really made it special. Waking up to that view of the lake while having breakfast was just perfect. The kitchens quite small, so wed suggest bringing pre-cooked meals or dining out-cooking properly isnt really doable. But that didnt spoil anything! Oh and the hot tub was definitely a highlight. All in all, wed recommend it for a peaceful getaway!"
Emma - Feb 2019
"A truly peaceful spot, loved it."
Emma - Jan 2019

"We had such a lovely stay! The place is really cosy and surprisingly spacious for how compact it is. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the hot tub was a real highlight. The little touches, like the prosecco, made it extra special. Well be back for sure!"
Holly - Aug 2018
"We had a really lovely stay here! The hot tub definitely helped us unwind and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Trying out the archery was a fun bonus. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're nearby."
James - Aug 2018
"We had an amazing stay! The place had everything we needed for a few days of relaxation. The chilled prosecco in the fridge was such a thoughtful touch and the robes, towels and slippers made the hot tub even better-my mum didnt want to leave it! The small fridge supplies and tea/coffee were a bonus. Linda was lovely-really friendly and so helpful. Well definitely be booking again soon, cant wait to come back!"
Emma - Aug 2018
"We had an amazing weekend celebrating my friend's birthday. Upon arrival, a chilled bottle of prosecco in the fridge was such a nice touch! The location was just what we needed-peaceful, quiet and super relaxing. The hot tub was brilliant and totally private, which made it even better. The pod had everything we could ask for and the owner was really friendly and helpful. Wed love to come back sometime!"

"We had such a lovely weekend here! The site was stunning and the pod was super cosy and spotless. The staff were friendly and the guidebook really helped us explore the area, especially since wed never been before. Overall, a perfect, relaxing little escape wed definitely recommend."
Emily Carter - Jan 1970
"We recently stayed in the Lakeside Pod Plus with hot tub for two nights and it was truly lovely. The views are stunning and the area is peaceful, yet its still close enough to shops, eateries and activities. The hot tub offers enough privacy to really unwind. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome and friendly smiles made us feel at home. The place was spotless, with nice touches like robes, coffee, tea and biscuits. Safety measures seemed thorough. Only slight issue was the shower-my partner, whos 61, found it a bit cramped. Otherwise, it was spot on! Would definitely return."
Emma - Jan 1970
"We booked a lakeside View Pod Plus for a weekend break to celebrate my partner's birthday. I called ahead to see if we could arrive early so I could decorate the pod as a surprise. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they let us come in early without any fuss. When we got there later, they acted as if theyd never seen us before, which was a nice touch. Michael - Jan 1970
"We absolutely loved our stay here! The place is so cosy and perfect for a romantic getaway. The private hot tub was definitely the highlight and fishing on-site was a lovely bonus. Definitely recommend for couples looking for something special!"
Claire - Jan 1970
"Very helpful staff and clean facilities."
Benjamin - Aug 2022
"We wanted a couple get-away, free from traffic and over crowding, and that’s what we got with a hot-tub! A perfect setting, with all the amenities you need. Would recommend to anyone wanting to escape for a while in the countryside. Close to local pubs and attractions if you wanted it. There is no WiFi and limited 4G signal, but the idea was to escape from the tech!"
Paul - Aug 2022
"Lovely place!!, you get everything you need and more for a small price. Facilities were amazing ?. We had full access to a lovely secluded clean hot tub. It remained warm the whole time !! The kitchen comes with a very useful and easy to use gas cooker and oven. Only downside was our grill did not work. The pod itself was surprisingly spacious and clean. The bed was very comfy however we did have difficulty pulling the bed down and ensuring it stayed up once we converted it back to the sofa. ( I would probably provide instructions for guests using the sofa bed) The bathroom Was very modern and clean. The vanity mirror with the lights was a nice touch. The only issue was the shower never remained at a nice temperature and would go hot and cold. The base of the shower floor would get flooded quickly too. The location was very scenic and we weren’t too far from shops such as Tesco and and Nottingham city centre. All very do able in a car. We did enjoy a nice walk in the local Forest and enjoyed looking at the local wildlife and horses. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and other guests were polite and quiet. Overall I would definitely recommend and I would come back again ??."
Saskia - Jul 2022
"Great staff, very welcoming and polite, lovely location in the middle of nowhere. felt the pods were a little too close to each other, could hear neighbours music and arguement, somebody was also parked in our parking space when we got there, not blaming Haywood Oakes it wasnt there fault, the weekend was lovely and relaxing overall."
Sharon - Jul 2022
"Staff very happy and helpful, lovely place"
James - Jul 2022
"Lovely staff, beautiful location and just a 30 minute journey from Nottingham City Centre if you wanted to go out aswell as enjoying the beautiful Haywood Oaks! Absolutely loved our stay !"
