Faringdon Grange Reviews

"Lodge was very clean, the grand children loved their rooms, we all enjoyed the hot tub. Great location for visiting the Cotswolds wildlife park only 40 minutes away, and Borton on the water home of Brum the little car. Robins farm carvery in Swindon was delicious and the portions were very generous. Overall a great time was had by all."

"The wren was a lovely lodge.Very spacious for myself and my family (4 adults). The beds were really comfortable. Hot tub was great and had complete privacy.Fully equipped kitchen, couldnt fault anything."
Yvonne - Jul 2025
"Our semi detached lodge was beautiful inside & felt luxurious. It had everything we could need for a short break apart from a fan but hey, we don't usually get such hot weather! The welcome gift basket was a lovely surprise ??Outside was nice too & the hot tub was fabulous. Without the hot tub, outside would be very basic! We had neighbours for our 1st 2 days and could hear the occasional noise but it didn't bother us. Perhaps though, they heard us?! Who knows! Now to our main issue ~ the lodge is very open plan. We've stayed in open plan accommodation many times and usually find it works well. Unfortunately there's one MAJOR thing missing from this one. A toilet door!!It's really not nice and should be addressed. Whoever designed it definitely needs to rethink. My husband is an engineer & builder. He could see it would be simple to put in a door, an opaque glass one or bifold!Without that being addressed we won't use it again or be recommending this lodge which is sad :("

"I honestly cannot recommend this lovely lodge enough! Stunning lodge well looked after. The host was very helpful when booking and us arriving! We had complimentary biscuits and Bucks Fizz on arrival, we cannot wait to book this lodge in the near future."

"The front door lock could do with looking at as it was difficult to open at times. Otherwise the lodge was great for just the 2 of us. Shops handy to pick up food etc. we enjoyed our meal at Mollies.Blenheim Palace was fantastic. We were so lucky with the weather."
Jane - May 2025
"Great location, excellent facilities, very spacious, will visit again."
Lara - May 2025
"Wonderful holiday lodge set in a beautiful and tranquil location. The facilities were excellent, kitchen was well equipped. The bathrooms are excellent, with the exception of low water pressure. Modern and fresh decor throughout. Bedrooms were excellent and beds were comfortable. Unfortunate that the dining room table didnt have enough seats around it but it does have a kitchen bar. All tvs were smart and had one in each bedroom as well as lounge. Hot tub was a fab addition!Helpful and friendly staff when needed help."

"Great and super comfortable lodge. Spacious and comfortable beds and couch."

"The lodge looks beautiful. That is the only positive I have to say about the property. We stayed here in the Easter holidays with no knowledge that this lodge was semi detached until a month after booking it. This is awfully advertised by Hoseasons - there is even a missing door in the pictures that links the two lodges together! The walls are not soundproof in this semi-detached lodge and I could hear everything that the couple in the attached lodge were doing, even quietly. This includes cooking tea, putting cutlery in the sink, opening the cupboards, walking on the laminated floor, getting out and into bed, flushing the toilet, using the shower, getting their shoes on, I can hear exactly what they were watching on TV and listening to on the radio. Unfortunately, on two separate occasions, I could hear them in bed, which is both unbelievably disgusting for myself and my partner to hear, and a complete invasion of privacy for the couple. The owner, Helen, upon explaining this issue, kept defending the lodge and said everyone else has had nothing but positive things to say and that she can only apologise. I do not feel as if she was empathetic to our situation, nor trying to resolve the issue. She made me feel like she thought I was lying about how much you could hear.I also contacted Hoseasons and they did nothing to resolve our holiday. Very disappointed."

"Stayed in The Willows for Easter weekend. The lodge was beautiful! It was spotlessly clean, the bed and sofa were very comfortable. The wifi was excellent and allowed us to stream netflix on our fire stick with no issues. TV could be moved to view from the bed or sofa. The bathroom was outstanding, it had a real luxurious feel and the mirrors and lighting was perfect. The whole place had everything you could ever need. The hot tub was very private and had the most beautiful fairy lights around. It was also nice and powerful!I do have 2 negatives which is the reason for reducing a star:1. The whole area is open plan, including the toilet. There is no door on the toilet so you could hear and smell when the other person was going which wasn't pleasant.2. The property is semi-detached. You could heard the TV and talking from next door. You could hear them scraping their plates and smell them cooking food. On the last night, I had a shower at around 11pm, I wanted to dry my hair but ended up going to sleep with wet hair because I thought it wasn't fair on next door hearing my hair dryer that late at night. Something which I wouldn't have to usually consider in a normal lodge. Neither of these points were disclosed at the time of booking. If I knew of both of these factors, I would have never booked this specific accommodation. Despite these negatives, we were able to make the most of our weekend and I would return to the park as it is lovely but to a full lodge with toilet doors."
Rachel - Apr 2025
"Lovely Plush Clean Lodge with a Fantastic Hot Tub. Very peaceful small park and each room has an on suite. The only thing it needed was to have some hangers for the big wordrobes and more Kitchen equipment, Cups, Pans and oven trays otherwise everything else was perfect. The wine and chocolate mint orange was a nice welcome."
Susannah - Apr 2025
"The lodge itself was extremely clean, very modern and the clean lines and decor appealed to me. Hot tub was amazing. The lodge was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (and more). The only potential issue (not for us but could be for some) was that our lodge was very 'open plan' - basically just one room with solid partial wall dividers separating the different spaces, therefore no door to the bathroom or toilet (although the toilet was separated from the main bathroom again with a solid wall with an opening where you would expect to find a door). All in all we had a lovely stay, with great communication with checking-in information, etc"
Karen - Apr 2025
"Perfect base to explore the surrounding area."
Brenda - Apr 2025
"An honest review:To start with the positives, there was good communication from the host and checking in was easy. The hot tub was perfect and private and the bed was so comfy! The bath is also very relaxing and large enough for two people. The location is lovely if you like countryside walks which we did but you have to drive at least half hour to any of the nice towns. There are some other things I think need addressing. Some may be preference of course. The ferns and the willows are connected by a thin wall and door so you can hear everything! This should be clearly stated when booking. The tv felt like it would come off the wall if we adjusted it and the shower is awkwardly placed too close to the wall. The kitchen equipment needed re washing and were covered in orange grease. There is no freezer and no freezer box in the fridge so we couldnt keep our ice. The whole lodge is far smaller than advertised so bear that in mind if you plan to cook a lot because there is virtually no space. There is no door on the toilet which we found incredibly strange and inconvenient when you want to have a poo in peace! I have paid similar prices for a lot more so wouldnt rush back but we still made the best out of our stay and the surroundings were just wonderful!"
Danielle - Apr 2025
"We had such a lovely two night break, wish we could have stayed for longer! The lodge was so cosy, cleanliness was perfect and the little touches like the fizz in the fridge and the blankets were lovely. We will definitely be booking again!"
Ellie - Mar 2025
"We really enjoyed our short stay and honestly, we wish we had more time! The lodge was super cosy, spotlessly clean and those little extras like the fizz in the fridge and cosy blankets made all the difference. Definitely planning to return soon!"

George - Mar 2025
"Superb Lodge, super size lodge , good size bedrooms, 3 beds 3 bathrooms. Spotless"
Bernard - Mar 2025
"The kitchen could definitely do with a bit more storage space for food. The pans and plates are quite small."

Mark - Jan 2025

Attractions Near Faringdon Grange

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Faringdon Grange. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 1 Mile
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 9 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park - SN4 9QT
about 12 Miles
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park is a fantastic attraction based in Swindon, Wiltshire.  For nature lovers and those who like to get out and explore this is the perfect day out.  It's also an all weather attraction with Butterfly World being part of the site.  Butterfly World is kept at around 85 degrees year round so this makes a perfect place to visit in all seasons. A visit to the Craft Village is also recommended where there are a wide range of handcrafted gifts.
Pendon Indoor Model Village and Railways - OX12 8EA
about 16 Miles
This is an all weather attraction in Abingdon, Oxfordshire which will appeal to all ages.  The model trains are fascinating to watch and we love the model village in the Vale Scene.  The exhibits have been well thought out and it's a pleasure to wander around this museum looking at everything on offer.  You can be assured of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive and for kids and adults alike this makes a fun and educational day out.
Avon Leisure Cruises - BS8 4EB
about 36 Miles
Avon Leisure Cruises offer a relaxing way to spend an afternoon exploring the beautiful river and the sites all around it. The trips have commentary to point out places of historical importance and interest and are educational as well as fun. During school holidays the area is very popular with tourists and with families and daily activities can be enjoyed.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 39 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
