"Our Riverside Holiday Park review: Really enjoyed our stay! The park was charming, the caravan spotless and facilities spot-on."
Lisa - Oct 2024

Sarah - Sep 2024
"Really cosy and comfy, felt just like being at home."
Harriet - May 2024
"We stayed at the park recently and honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The caravan had quite a few issues that werent all sorted out during our stay. For starters, there was no welcome pack or clear instructions for the central heating, which was turned off and a bit confusing. The kitchen supplies were pretty limited at first, though they did bring more utensils later. The bathroom basin had a big crack in it, which wasnt fixed and the towel rail kept falling off, even after we reported it. The smoke alarm cover was hanging off and on our last day, we noticed it had no batteries - I also mentioned this along with the remote control batteries, but nothing was done about either. Getting onto the park was a pain because our car registration wasnt recognised, so we had to use a code. We did have a couple of meals at the restaurant; the chicken was alright but the sticky toffee puddings, which cost nearly £7 with custard, tasted terrible, so we got a full refund. Definitely wouldnt come back here."
Emily - Nov 2023
"Great service, staff made us feel welcome."
Alex - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely stay at Riverside Holiday Park, especially with our little one. Its really child-friendly and the splash park was a hit. The free kids' meal with every adult meal was such a great deal and the food was good value. Only downside was the beds-pretty thin and not the most comfy. Otherwise, everything was spot on!"
Laura - Nov 2023
"We chose the hive on 7/10 because the steps looked a bit unsafe, especially with that loose handrail. Also, no gate on the veranda meant we had to keep our dogs on leads with doors open, which was a bit of a pain."
Helen - Jun 2023
"Absolutely loved it! The caravan was spotless, looked brand new and we couldnt find a fault."
Jamie - May 2023
"Great experience, would recommend it!"

Oliver - Sep 2016
"We were pleasantly surprised by our stay! The caravan was well equipped and clean, which really made a difference. The heating worked well and having extra heating in the bedrooms was super welcome in October. It was also lovely to bring our small terrier along with us. Plus, there was a great area for dog walking too!"
Clara - Oct 2014
"We had a lovely time in the caravan! It was really nice and we would definitely choose to stay in this type of caravan again. Perfect for a getaway!"
Miss J. - Oct 2014
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is just fantastic and the service was excellent. The staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Our room was clean and cozy, with everything we needed for a comfortable night. We loved the little touches that made it special. Overall, a great experience and we cant wait to come back!"
Ben - Sep 2014
"We really enjoyed our stay at Riverside with such peaceful surroundings! We would definitely love to stay there again."
Charlotte - Sep 2014
"Very quiet site with easy access to Southport. Also very clean. Staff were great. We used the site as a base mostly and made trips out. The caravan was super, and very clean. Contained everything but a hair dryer. The onsite pool was nice, and you could book in for 1 hour slots, so it was never over crowded. The shop was cheap and had a good supply of everything with quite a few offers on. There is also a small play area by the camping site end of the camp. Didnt use the bar but it looked pretty big and there is also a takeaway/restaurant. A small launderette is also available. About £3.50 per wash and £1.70 drying. There is a but into town and various other things going on locally so you have no need to be bored on camp. remember to take some cash as there is no cashpoint or cashback facility. There is also a £20 deposit required for your caravan key. You also need a pound for the swimming lockers. We loved our 4 night break and have booked again for next year."
Martyn - Aug 2014
"Our holiday was really good! We were very pleased with everything."
Ravi - Aug 2014
"We stayed from 18-25 of July Reception staff are lovely and so helpful both at gym and the bar and restaurant. Wee shop is handy for boys you have forgotten to take. Our caravan was lovely and clean and had all the essential utensils we needed. So much to do in area we went to hesketh park and enjoyed folks in the park. Ainsde beach is 13 mins away. Went to Vue to cinema and it’s 4.99 for a movie which is cheap if your having to buy for a big family. We definitely go back ??"
Daphne - Aug 2022
"loved the 3 bedroom van, it was very new, well equipped and clean. Our grandchildren liked the pool and football area. The food in the pub was excellent. It was a good base for visiting southport. I would use it again and recommend it to friends."
Jacqui - Aug 2022
"Lovely little break , great place to visit with little ones and dog friendly ! Will be visiting again ?"

St Winefride's Well in Flintshire is described at one of the 7 wonders of Wales and is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Legend has it that the well first erupted at the spot where Caradog cut off the nuns head with his sword. The shrine was then erected in her memory in the first decade of the sixteenth century and remains one of the holiest places in Wales. The stunning temple and well attract visitors from all over the world. Water can be drawn from the spring basin within the crypt and is thought to be lucky.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
