The clever design made it feel much bigger than it looked from the outside and theres plenty of storage which was handy. The hot tub was such a nice touch of luxury! "The lodge was lovely and super peaceful, perfect for a quiet getaway. It was very clean and well looked after, which we appreciated. However, only one toilet roll was provided for two toilets in a 6-bed lodge, so it wouldve been good to know beforehand to bring some extra. Hot tub access was a bit hit or miss, but overall, we enjoyed our stay!"

"We stayed at a fantastic, well-equipped house that was so cosy, especially on that rainy December day! The bath was just perfect and the big shower was a bonus. The locations great too - totally quiet, so perfect for dogs scared of fireworks. The house is beautifully converted and really feels special. The only thing to note is the flight path noise, but it didnt bother us at all. Thanks a lot!"

The way they've sympathetically restored this historic building is impressive and its clear theyve put a lot of care into it. Goddards Mead offers everything for a relaxing break and the location in Essex is perfect. We loved exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages - so much history and charm! Definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway."

"We had a lovely stay at this cosy spot, tucked away in a really peaceful and private setting. The owners were genuinely friendly and always willing to help if needed, but it still felt secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling! One thing to mention - the cottage is directly under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Definitely worth considering if noise bothers you, though."
