Middle Thorne at Great Field Lodges Reviews

Sharon - May 2025
We had the best week here with our dog, beautiful Saunton Sands on the doorstep and perfect location near to Braunton for food. The owners had thought of everything in the lodge and had the best sleep there. We will definitely be back.
Yvonne - Apr 2025
We had a fantastic short break at Broadpath and will definitely be back; The chalet was spotless and had everything you could want or need for a luxurious relaxing break. Easy access to miles of country lines with the opportunity for our dog to run for miles. We ate at the Duke Dive in Braunton which is a must. We had relaxed breakfasts on the decking in the sun and spent the evenings relaxing in the hot tub, especially after cycling the Tarka trail for miles. A lovely escape, fab hospitality and are already planning our next visit.
gordon - Dec 2024
What a great stay at Great Field Lodges Perfectly run and presented by Sarah All our thanks for a 5 star break for our wedding anniversary By far the best lodge and hot tub we have stayed in, we shall be looking to book again in the new year.
Louise - Nov 2024
This was our 2nd stay at Broadpath, and again it won't be our last. Ourselves and our little Whippet love it here. Very secure garden, all the cooking facilities and utensils you need. Most comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Fab beaches just short drives away, great roads to travel around too. Braunton Burrows also a must and great for dogs. Undercover hot tub so can still be enjoyed in the rain. We'll definitely be back.
Jess - Oct 2024
Booked as a get away for a few days and can say it fully fulfilled our expectations. The lodge had heating which you could adjust to your liking and had complimentary shortbreads as you come in. The bed was a good size and very comfy. The whole lodge was very clean and smelled lovely too. The jacuzzi was just outside and was the icing on the cake! We came without a car so would absolutely come again with one as there are some really nice beaches to visit whilst there. Very impressed!
Guest - Sep 2024
Lodge was ideally located and a discreet pitch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and just a couple of suggestions. The WiFi is very poor and dropped out consistently each evening when trying to watch tv - this needs improvement. Lots of nice touches including the welcome package which was a pleasant surprise. A text or quick visit from the on-site managers would have been nice to check everything was ok. Other than that we had a great stay and were blessed with the weather allowing us to take full advantage of the surrounding beaches.
Michael - Jul 2024
Just spent a week at Great Field Lodges, Broadpath. The Lodge was absolutely perfect, best bathroom I've ever seen and absolutely loved the covered front porch. Location was great for us with quiet lanes to walk with the dog and easy short drive to the beach. Enjoyed it so much we have already booked again for next year.
Ashley - Mar 2024
Lovely place, helpful people, all in all highly recommend a stay to anyone. We have stayed in here bay resort many times and thought we would try some where new. It didnt disappoint and we cant wait to come back for another stay.
Christina - Dec 2023

Lewis - Nov 2023
Fantastic lodge, very clean, comfortable bed with a massive bathroom. Great location. Nice hot tub Lovely host.
Alanah - Nov 2023
This was such a lovely place to stay. It was a perfect location, we wanted something away from busy areas but activities close by. We had just that! We were away from everything but it was a 5-10 minute drive to the town, a 20 minute drive to a beach which had a small arcade, a mini golf course where the staff were lovely and a good selection of little shops and places to eat. The lodge that we stayed in was a perfect size, had everything you could want and your not too close to other lodges. The owners was very friendly and helped us out more then we could have asked for. With the location, the lodge itself and the friendly owners we had an amazing and relaxing experience! And a little tip, stay at the lodge near fire works night. There was a beautiful area down the road where they had one of the best fire works display we have seen! 10/10! Xx
John - Oct 2023

We had a wonderful time and that was because everything was perfect Sarah was amazing every question I ask she responded immediately and answered all my questions and the lodge was the best I have stayed in for a long time and our surroundings were very nice and private and peaceful and also plenty of lovely places to visit close by I will definitely be returning very soon thank you to Sarah and the team for making it do perfect.
Patricia - Jul 2023
We had a lovely week at Broadpath, the lodge was lovely and clean and had everything we required for a relaxing week, the garden was very secure for our dog to run around in, Sarah was close by if we needed anything, there were some nice treats like wine, biscuits and also biscuits for our dog Benji to welcome us, very thoughtful !!, Thankyou Sarah !!
Wendy - Jul 2023
Broadpath is very clean and comfortable with everything you need. The small drying room is useful for drying off cosies after using the hot tub or waterproofs/ boots when it rains. Its ideally situated to explore north Devon and its proximity to Braunton is good for restaurants and for getting about by bus. We have stayed there several times and Im sure this wont have been the last.
Sarah - Jun 2023
The lodge was lovely if a little close to the road. The only windows in the bedroom that opened in the bedroom were small and on the road side so traffic noise can be a bit of an issue in bed if you're a light sleeper. The drawers in the bedroom were tiny and even folded eg shirts ended up being a bit squashed. It would benefit from an ice tray in the freezer compartment. Fridge door doesn't shut properly so ice builds up at back of fridge and water drips from freezer compartment. Besides that we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The patio area was large enough to move table/chairs around to be in/out of the sun. Beautiful bathroom. Comfortable bed. Pretty much everything we needed in the kitchen. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Jeffrey - Jun 2023
We had an amazing 4 night stay in the broadpath chalet. The place was immaculate, modern and a great location to both saunton sands, woolacombe and ilfracombe beaches. A 10 min walk to the town centre too. The chalet itself was beautiful, the hot tub was perfect after a day out and is furnished to a high standard. Have already been recommending it to friends and family and would definitely return.
Rachel - Jun 2023
Stayed here before was excellent very comfortable accommodation very clean and had everything you needed. Hot tub nice extra Weather was amazing drove to Saunton sands dog loved the sea and sand. Had fish and chips from Braunton which was lovely.
Justin - May 2023
Beautiful cabin, excellent host who was very helpful, really clean and a generally great place. We will definitely return.
