Talacre Beach Resort Reviews

When I made the booking I called through and asked if we could be in a quiet location, we were therefore VERY surprised to find ourselves located by the main gate in the car park which is the least quiet spot on the whole caravan park (caravan 8)! We have 2 young children with us so after a night of listening to everyone and their cars pass we couldn't be bothered to move so we bought some ear plugs. We were incredibly disappointed though :-(The beach is lovely and the caravan was quite clean, just a build up of dirt in the corners...The only thing stopping us from giving a lower rating is that when we had an issue in the caravan maintenance man came to fix it within a few minutes which was excellent and he was really lovely. The staff in the pool and cafe were friendly and welcoming too.

Presence of mould on some walls in lounge behind the sofa and on the bathroom blinds bedroom curtains. An internal door was missing and blinds broken. Caravan was dirty upon arrival. Cleaned this myself before I unpacked Reported the broken and mouldy blind to reception and maintenance were excellent at responding. Blinds were replaced with new. Site is great, lovely pool with sauna hot tub and steam room , bar and entertainment area are fab theres a little supermarket and chip shop. The Service was excellent in the bar/resturant areas 10 min walk to lovely beach. Couple of pubs on way to beach for food and drinks theses are dog friendly. lovely bakery and chip shop too and a small convenience store which sells everything. Despite the above issues we had a great little break and I definitely would return to this site but not to the Samphire caravan!
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Nice van, clean and plenty room for one person. No hooks in bathroom to hang towel. Shower extremely noisy as water hits the fittings. Microwave to high for average height person, could be dangerous.Facilities minimum for number of people holidaying. Club and bars were very busy. However was a pleasant stay overall.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Lovely warm and comfortable lodge, great lounge and dining area perfect for family holiday. Private Hot tub warm even in the cold rainy winter weather. Nice garden area. Lovely large warm swimming pool very safe for young children. Sauna in pool area.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Great park clubs a bit small and not sure why they were so busy on new years at bang on 10 and didnt open at all on the 2nd
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Good enough for 4 nights but not very comfy seating area etc as we had to stay indoors a lot as weather so dreadful - lots bits n bobs missing but we managed - but nice touch all lights on and heating when we arrived ,- lady minute booking so best we could get but will come again for new year with more organisation and better accomodation
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Caravan wasnt ready when we arrived shortly after 4pm. Waited over an hour to be given the keys as our caravan was still be cleaned but we were allowed to use site facilities while we waited. Our caravan was disgustingly filthy and smelled of gas, bathroom door handle was broken and we got locked in. Staff were fantastic when we explained however and we were given a different spec of caravan which was beautifully clean.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Booked for NYE for 4 nights. There was absolutely nothing to do for the kids. The only thing open was the swimming pool. On the Saturday they had a drawing competition and half an hour dance class but that was literally it for the 4 days we were there. The entertainment club is far too small so you have to be in early for a seat. Got in at half 4 on Nye got one of the last tables and then they announced after us being sat there waiting for 2 hours that it was adults only after 9pm! Not surprisingly there were lots of angry families! It seems they like owners and only really cater for them rather than holiday makers. The caravan itself was big and heating was great but it was dirty. No mattress protectors dog hairs on the plates and windows without exaggeration you couldn't see through them they were filthy. Talacre is still in 1983. I wouldn't return.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Awful from the minute we got there. Dog poo left outside the caravan in bags and not in bags. Crockery and cutlery dirty, bathroom dirty and an overwhelming smell of bleach (my youngest commented on how it smelt of swimming pools)We did not stay and drove home, could not offer us other accommodation as it was full. No e-mail or phone call as promised from Talacre site. Do not stay here
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Modern caravan but like other reviews have mentioned the floors were absolutely disgusting.
Vicky - Jan 2024
Rooms are not clean, mould on bed sheets. Car park is not located next to caravan which is difficult to manage in adverse weather.
Sid - Jan 2024
We were put in a pet friendly caravan which we didn't book, there were dog hairs all over the settee, under the beds, the beds and suite had never been moved in a long time and where filthy underneath, and mold patches all around the bedrooms, the shower was uncontrollable was always red hot, and unable to turn down, the front and side entrance to the caravan was completely flooded, so you had to step out of the caravan in Wellington's, as you stepped into deep water at the bottom of the exit steps, no other caravans were like this!!There was a extremely low provision of untensils, we had booked till 3rd January, but found out that the restaurant and club house were not open till then, would have liked to have been told the opening days and times before we booked, as we had 2 young grandchildren, the club is by far to small for the amount of people who are on site, we wanted to take the grandchildren to the childrens entertainment, but could not get in due to all the adults getting in early and taking the seats, would suggest that adults without children are only allowed in after the children's entertainment has finished to allow the kids to enjoy themselves prior, as it was children's entertainment time after all.Over all we feel ripped off for the price we paid, and the accommodation we were given.
Robert - Jan 2024
Enjoyable stay over the festive period. Only downside was that everything was closed Christmas day and boxing day, and wasn't advertised as such, so we lost two days of a four night stay.
Rita - Jan 2024
Awful from start to finish Soon as we arrived could smell an awful stench of sewers coming from bathroom filled sink toilet with bleach over night n disinfectant all over van. Then realised fire was not working, luckily staff came to fix. First morning tried to get showered to see it was broken had to use one hand to hold up shower head. Also stains on couch and chairs. I phoned to complain no answers from reception after leaving complaints. Therefore had disgusting smell all weekend so bought air and blanket for couch. freshener and plug ins to disguise. Could not wait to get home away from smell and filthy couch.
Michelle - Jan 2024
I booked a last minute Christmas holiday, caravan 75, on Wednesday 20th Dec. We arrived Saturday 23rd Dec. We were able to check in early because it was ready. Slight issue with the lock but resolved quickly. Staff very friendly and efficient. Caravan very clean, a short walk to gate that leads to the entertainment/reception area. You can walk to the beach. The Lighthouse pub is very welcoming.
Maria - Jan 2024
Disappointed in the holiday as a whole but our caravan was filthy. Did not look like it had been cleaned. Floors were grubby. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. TV aerial had melted - to be fair the security sent someone out within 5 mins and sorted this.Dog hairs everywhere. We'd booked a pet free due to son and husband having bad allergies. Bed did not feel like the sheets had been cleaned. The path to the caravan had flooded so had to wade through what smelled like sewage every time which wasn't pleasant anyway but my husband has recently had sepsis and is in the process of losing his toes and wearing dressing shoes. What was meant to be a lovely, relaxing rest turned into stressful and miserable time. We left early. When we complained when leaving the lady on reception did not seem surprised - feel like she'd dealt with a lot of the same comments.
Lucy - Jan 2024
The place is amazing! Amazing Spa! Walk in swimming pool. Amazing you dont need to book. Did not like the caravan carpet in the sitting area! Big no!! I recommend the place we loved our stay on ver Christmas. The entertainment for little children (mine is 4 ) was very poor and very short time. I think was more for little bit bigger kids. The choice of the songs. Bit boring compared to other entertainments we have seen before. But still kids had fun.
Lenka - Jan 2024
Well I left on the 1st as New Years Eve was a joke. Got told we couldnt have kids in the main room to watch the main show as was for adults only so was kicked out of there and told to wait in the sports pub part which was cold and by the time we had been kicked out there was no where to sit so we all had to stand to watch entertainment which was by 2 of the workers there Then we find out that people kept there kids in there and refused to move so they got to stay in there. What a joke ruined the New Years Eve and was back in the caravan for 10.30 very disappointed with it all Want my money back!
Lee - Jan 2024
caravan was not cleaned properly grill was filthy, cleaning utensels left outside the caravan, kitchen bench was broken, settee was sunk due to a broken spring and the boiler in one of the caravans was making a really loud noise which kept us up all night, caravans are clearly not being checked after the cleaners have been in, also caravan was too far away from all the amenities, good point we asked for 3 caravans to be next to each other which we got, bad point the club house is far too small for the amount of caravans on the site so it was impossible to get a table. We went for New Years Eve and ended up going to a pub off site because even if we had been able to get a table children were not allowed in until 11.45pm
Jean - Jan 2024
Claire, the maintenance person, was brilliant. She responded promptly and professionally to a query about the hot tub. Thank you.
Jan - Jan 2024
We came back last year and will be back again !! Do you offer an early book discount for repeat business?
Emma - Jan 2024
The lodge is huge, and the hot tub is great we used it plenty even in late December. Everything seemed pretty clean some of it looks a tiny bit tired but I'm being picky. Would definitely stay again.
David - Jan 2024
Poor drainage from caravans causing floods and mud . Caravan drain pipes just ending on grass . No drains . Parking was awful parking very far away from caravans. Even for disabled persons . Site did not allow for familys to be close together even with 3 caravans on one booking . No mop in caravans even in bad weather x
Catherine - Jan 2024
Arrived for new year drainage around the caravans does not exist causing flooding and mud swamp . Site facilitys very small and over booked so never got to use any facilitys ie pool/ club /bars . Staff very unhelpful from reception and through out the site . Would never use this site again
Catherine - Jan 2024
Lovely and clean caravan, everything you need , better than we expected, Not far from the beach , too pubs near by they serve nice food, The on site pub was very busy, didn't go in the swimming pool ,The site has a shop handy for thing you run out off,all so has a fish shop,
Angela - Jan 2024
Booked for new year with my family and I must say, I will not be returning. The caravan was clean but most of my family couldnt park outside their caravans as you are not allowed to park on the grass and had to leave car and carry you belongings. Mattress was blown and started to dip on the last few nights. Facilities were a joke. Pool only open for a few hours a day and entertainment closed the day before we were leaving. Arcades didnt work. And for New Years Eve, we couldnt even get in and the staff did nothing and were very rude. Some of my family left early due to the lack of facilities and poor weather which didnt help as we have 4 dogs between 5 caravans and we were spread across the park
Amy - Jan 2024

Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.
