"We stayed here for a week in July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The cottage itself is charming and cosy and the hot tub was definitely a highlight-especially during those scorching days, it cooled down just right. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. Watching the planes land near Stansted was surprisingly fun, too. Its in a peaceful village, perfect for relaxing walks. Overall, wed definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway with pets. Well be back!"

"Our Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club review: We had such a lovely stay at this place! The setting is truly beautiful and very private, which we really appreciated. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, but they also respected our privacy completely. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling-it was just perfect. A small thing to keep in mind: the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much after a while, but it might be worth considering if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, wed definitely recommend it!"

"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a pretty nice spot. The location is great and the place was spotless and well-kept. The driving range, though, could definitely do with an upgrade - it felt a bit outdated. The main downside was the manager - quite patronising and dismissive when we had issues. WiFi was a nightmare; it barely worked and the offered dongle only lasted about an hour each day. Also, only two toilet rolls for eight of us over five days and when we asked for more because a kid was unwell, we got a rude response. Electricity went out after an hour, but it was fixed quickly. EV charger was out of action too. The staff, however, were lovely. Wouldnt mind returning, but some things could be better."

"We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage set on a working farm, but its surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such sweethearts, really friendly. The place is big and well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathroom, which we appreciated. The bed was super comfy too! The garden is private and dog-proof, with nice furniture for relaxing outside. Lots of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking restaurants like The Star and The Maypole.
