Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club Reviews

"Staff were incredibly rude and just dismissive overall."
Emma Carter - Apr 2025
"Absolutely loved it! Will definitely come back soon, highly recommend to everyone."
Emily Carter - Apr 2025
"When we arrived, we were pretty disappointed to find out the hot tub in our lodge wasnt working. There was an electrician there trying to fix it, but after about half an hour, they told us it couldnt be fixed and wed need to move to a different lodge. Not ideal, especially after a long journey. The staff also mentioned there was no fresh bedding in any of the bedrooms and it took nearly an hour for two staff members to come and make the beds - and honestly, they didnt seem too pleased to be there, which made us feel a bit awkward. The hot tub was completely cold, so we couldnt even use it that day and by the next morning, it was only warm - still too cold to enjoy properly. The water level was way below the fill line and there was a dirty, mucky ring around the inside. Not what you want after paying for a stay. We also didnt get a proper welcome back; I had to keep asking for one, which was a bit frustrating. Inside the lodge, it was quite dusty, which was disappointing given the nice decor that was quite modern and stylish. One strange thing was when we were asked if the neighbouring guests could park on the grass next to us so they could use our electric car charging point - turns out their lodge didnt have one. On a positive note, a member of staff was really helpful; she managed to get us a welcome pack sorted and even brought us some milk so we could have a drink while we waited. Its a shame, really, because the location is perfect - so close to Skegness town and all the sights. Sadly, we wont be coming back. The overall experience didnt match what we expected, especially with the hot tub and the cleanliness issues. Still, the staffs efforts were appreciated!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really impressed with the lodge, such high standards and spotless everywhere. Brilliant stay!"
Emma Harper - Mar 2025
"Our Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club review: We had a fantastic stay! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The sunken hot tub was a real treat and the secure decking gave us peace of mind with our baby. Gorgeous views of the golf course too. Definitely would stay again!"
James - Oct 2024
"Great service, easy to locate and fantastic value overall!"
Sam - Oct 2024
"We had a fantastic week away! The lodge was perfect and super cosy and the hot tub was a real treat after busy days. The location was spot on for exploring Leicestershire easily. Cant wait to book our next trip with Hoseasons - its just so relaxing!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The place was advertised as an 8 berth, but the seating in the lounge only comfortably fit about 4 or 5 people. The dining area and veranda were also quite small, maxing out at around 6 guests and the hot tub could only hold 4, which was a bit of a letdown. The plastic glasses provided werent very good quality either - they were scratched and really more suited for the hot tub than for inside the lodge. It wouldve been nice to have proper glassware. Also, the check-out process was frustrating; we had to strip bedding, empty bins and then ring housekeeping to check the lodge and hand over the keys. We tried calling them multiple times, but no answer. We were in a rush to leave, so it felt a bit unfair that we had to do their job. Its definitely something the staff should handle without us having to wait around."
James - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely stay at Addlethorpe - the lodges were spotless and well-equipped, which made everything so easy. Its a really tranquil spot, perfect for unwinding and if you're into golf, its ideal for watching a game or two. The welcome pack was a nice touch, with everything we needed for the dishwasher and washing machine, though I think that might depend on the lodge type. The only thing wed suggest is upgrading the mattresses - they werent the comfiest, which is why we didnt give five stars. The hot tub was a real highlight - clean, plenty of jets and just what we needed after a day out. Also, the car charger at each lodge was a handy bonus. Overall, wed definitely recommend Addlethorpe - keep up the good work on cleanliness and attention to detail!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"The lodge was spot-on for what we needed - really comfy and the hot tub was definitely a highlight! Were already thinking of coming back. Just a heads up, bring your own pillow since the ones there are a bit firm, but no biggie."
Emma - Sep 2024
"Great stay, would definitely recommend"
Oliver - Sep 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The lodge was spotless, super comfy and fully equipped. Its peaceful here, making it perfect for a relaxing break. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"The lodge was absolutely stunning, but the washer dryer was a bit of a letdown - it only washes, doesnt dry. Still lovely!"
Harper - Sep 2024
"Mattress was quite lumpy, sadly."
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Really happy with the overall service, just the mattress needs replacing soon."
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, definitely recommend this place!"
Sarah - Sep 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge set in peaceful surroundings. Its perfectly situated just outside town, so its nice and quiet but still convenient. We did run into a bit of a hiccup with the hot tub on our first night, but they sorted it out quickly, which was great. The only downside was the check-out process - we were told to call the departure team between 9 and 10, then wait for them to come and inspect the lodge and collect the keys. We called at 9.15 and again at 9.45, but no one showed up. Luckily, the staff at the country club told us we could just leave the keys there, which was a relief. Overall, lovely place with just a few minor issues!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"We really loved the place overall - its honestly one of the nicest lodges weve ever stayed in! The cleanliness was top-notch and the setting was just perfect for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a real highlight, so relaxing after a long day. That said, we did have a bit of a rough start; our accommodation wasnt ready until well after 4 pm and the girl on reception seemed unsure when it would be ready. It wasnt until a manager stepped in that we finally got the keys around 6 pm, which was a bit frustrating. We also tried to order takeaway from the bar one evening, but after calling multiple times, no one answered, so we just went to the local chippy instead. Hopefully, once they sort out the staffing issues, itll run even smoother - wed definitely come back then!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"A nice spot, though a few flies around. Being close to woodland, it's understandable, but it didnt bother us much."
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"We recently stayed at the lodge and honestly, it was lovely overall. The place looked stunning, though we did notice a few cleaning issues-some handprints on the windows and TV and the floors could have been a bit cleaner before check-in. There was also a strange smell when we arrived, but opening the windows and using some air fresheners sorted it out pretty quickly. The kitchen was well stocked, which was great for cooking our meals. The beds and sofa were super comfy, making relaxing easy. The hot tub was a perfect size for the four of us. Staff were really friendly and sorted out our wifi connection issue promptly. Booking golf was hassle-free and dress code was totally relaxed. Its about a 40-minute walk into Ingoldmells, but there are a couple of pubs closer by. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed the stay, the hot tub was fantastic!"
James - Aug 2024
"It was so peaceful and the hot tub really made it special!"
James - Jul 2024
"Great spot for a quick getaway, just a few tweaks needed on the lodge fittings though."
Emma - Jul 2024
"We stayed in a lovely big lodge that had everything we needed. Having two bathrooms was such a bonus with the grandkids! The only thing wed suggest is softer pillows for a better sleep. Also, some gates at the bottom of the stairs or side decking would help keep the kids and dogs safe when the doors open. Would definitely return!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Looking forward to return"
James - Jun 2024
"We had a lovely break, even with the weather being a bit rubbish at times."
Emma Clarke - Jun 2024
"Great stay, highly recommend!"
James Carter - Apr 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a pretty nice spot. The location is great and the place was spotless and well-kept. The driving range, though, could definitely do with an upgrade - it felt a bit outdated. The main downside was the manager - quite patronising and dismissive when we had issues. WiFi was a nightmare; it barely worked and the offered dongle only lasted about an hour each day. Also, only two toilet rolls for eight of us over five days and when we asked for more because a kid was unwell, we got a rude response. Electricity went out after an hour, but it was fixed quickly. EV charger was out of action too. The staff, however, were lovely. Wouldnt mind returning, but some things could be better."
Harriet - Apr 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The lodge looked just like the pictures and the hot tub was brilliant."
Emma - Apr 2024

Attractions Near Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 3 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 17 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 27 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 27 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 33 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 34 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
