"Weve just come back from our second visit and already booked for next February! The place is perfect for winter family get-togethers. The big living area, pool table and hot tub mean we get plenty of fun indoors, especially when its chilly outside. The bedrooms and en-suites are spacious and give everyone a bit of privacy, which is really nice. The only tiny issues we noticed were a bit of a lack of storage in the bedrooms, no hooks in the bathroom and a limited selection of glasses. Honestly, these are small things that would make a big difference-like unpacking our bags and hanging towels instead of draping them over doors. Its such a minor thing, but it really would improve the stay. Thanks for another lovely break! Fingers crossed we can finally unpack properly next time!"

"We had a fantastic stay at The Meal House! The place was spotless and surprisingly roomy for just the two of us. Its decorated beautifully, with every little detail carefully considered - from dishwasher tablets to coffee pods and milk, which was a lovely touch since we usually bring our own. The hot tub was pristine and private, with stunning views and clear night skies that really made the trip special. Definitely somewhere wed return to!"

"We stayed at The Farm House recently and honestly, its lovely and really well kept. The setting is perfect-so peaceful, with views over the fields that make it feel super rural. The kids adored the hot tub; it was definitely a highlight for them! Only thing is, it wouldve been great if we could adjust the temperature higher than 37.5 degrees. Adults found it a bit too lukewarm. Also, a couple more bowls and plates wouldve made things easier, but plenty of mugs, glasses and pans were provided. Overall, a lovely break!"

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The setting is quite stunning and very private, which was just what we needed. The owners are super friendly and always ready to help, but they dont intrude on your space. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long cycle day. Only thing to note is that the cottage is directly under Stansteds flight path, so aircraft noise is pretty noticeable at times. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be a concern for noise-sensitive folks. Overall, a lovely place!"

"We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put their heart into converting this historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, of course. The place offers everything you need for a comfy, relaxing break. The location is perfect-nice and central in Essex. We definitely recommend taking some time to explore Thaxted and the surrounding villages; there's so much interesting history and charming architecture around. Definitely a great find!"

"We stayed at Parsley Cottage recently and honestly, its a lovely spot tucked away on a quiet site, which was just what we needed. The place looks stunning from the outside and inside, its beautifully decorated and thoughtfully set up. A few extras really made a difference - having access to the sauna, which you can book at reception, was a lovely surprise and the wood store meant we could easily top up the fire without any extra charge, unlike other places weve been. The hot tub was just right for unwinding and the cottage stayed nice and warm throughout our stay, plenty of space for everyone. That said, there were a few small niggles. We noticed some broken bits that hadnt been fixed, like broken hooks in the bathrooms and the downstairs bedroom was listed as a king but turned out to be a double - a bit misleading. No dishcloths for washing up and the TV remote was dead, which was a bit frustrating. The lighting in the bedrooms was quite dim, so getting ready was a bit tricky, especially for doing hair or makeup. Storage was limited to just hangers, so living out of a suitcase with a little one wasnt ideal. Parking was a bit of a trek from the cottage, which can be a pain when you're loaded with bags. Also, there werent enough wine glasses for everyone, which was a minor thing but still noticeable.Overall, wed definitely come back - just good to be aware of these small issues. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even nicer."

"We stayed in this lovely place and really enjoyed it. The bedrooms are huge with walk-in showers, which was a nice touch. Everything was spotless and well-equipped for a comfy stay. A couple of small things could be improved, like adding a shelf in the shower for toiletries and a towel hook nearby. The outdoor furniture also needs some attention-cushions left outside get soaked easily. Despite these minor issues, wed definitely come back. Its a great spot for a relaxing break!"

"We stayed here for a week in July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, they loved every minute. The village of Thaxted is so charming and the cottage itself is really lovely - the hot tub was such a treat, especially during those scorching days when it was cool enough to be refreshing. The hosts are genuinely welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs taken out to the fields each day. Being close to Stansteds flight path was actually quite fun-watching the planes land was pretty cool. Wed definitely come back!"

"We booked this place for a dog walking trip and honestly, it was spot on. Lovely accommodation, close to pubs and eateries and endless fields for walks. The dog didnt want to leave, which says it all!"

"Absolutely stunning place only down full was didn't like the staff coming in the garden with out knocking or asking knowing my children were in there half clothed as just got out of hit tub and the mattresses could do with being replaced as they dip in the middle apart from that fabulous place and location"

"Home Farm Park is far enough away from the noise but close enough if you want to be in the crowds. Ingoldmells and Skegness only short drives away. We had a fantastic stay! Sage Cottage was more equipped than we had imagined, having everything we could possibly have needed for a week away. Entry to the park and cottage was straight forward and all details given in enough time. The cottage was spotless on arrival. The hot tub was perfect and checked on every day, even if we weren't in. Having the pool table was a real treat, keeping us entertained for hours! The staff were quick to deal with any issues, and always polite and friendly, even providing additional towels we requested towards the end of the week. They advised additional facilities including a small shop and reception type area are currently being built, and more lodges are to be added, which we look forward to.
We have already booked Sage Cottage for next year!"

"The barns were perfect for a family holiday. The pool table and hot tub kept our teenagers entertained. The bedrooms were lovely and everyone having their own en suite made life easier for getting out and about in the mornings. The hot tub being on a private first floor balcony was also perfect and the view was great. Would highly recommend"

"The most stunning accommodation in a great location. Really clean, tidy and homely and the hot tub was the best we’d ever used! Love the fact it was checked every day. I’d highly recommend staying here and in the other accommodations on the farm."

"Fantastic stay here and hope to return soon. 8 of us staying and plenty of space for all. One thing that let's it down only mirrors are located in the bathrooms. A mirror in the bedrooms would make getting ready and drying hair so much easier."

"On arrival the check in process was easy, plenty of parking and easily found. The park was quiet and fishing was good. The barn itself was spacious and the pool table was a good addition. The downsides you could hear alot of noise from next door and due to this one of the party slept downstairs on the sofa. Although the barn was clean the extractor fan above the hob was covered in bugs in fact was black with bugs and needed to be cleaned and the hot tub was absolutely filthy and we felt that it had not been emptied and there wasn't chlorine in it on the first night but clean on the second day. With reference to the hot tub yes it was checked most days however due to its position ie only could be checked by access through the property it felt that you were being imposed on. The property does need a bit of tlc and would benefit from some drawers to put your clothes in and clothes hooks in bathroom. I would recommend the park however I would choose one of the other properties for example the farm house without close neighbours."

"We had a fabulous time, when we arrived the place was beautifully laid out and cleaned. The hot tub was hot and ready to use. The addition of tea, coffee, milk and the plum bread with butter was a lovely touch. The only things we would recommend would be additional hangers in the bedroom as there was not enough for both of us so we ended up living out of suitcases for the week. And more fire wood as we had to purchase some after the first night and were advised there was no where on site we could grab anymore. The sofa was comfy but you couldn’t put your feet up anywhere and cuddle in, in front of the fire. Netflix was a great touch, as was the automatic windows and blinds. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking to book again later in the year :) thank you!!"
