Date of stay: 30th April 2018
Lovely stay! Lodge was very cosy and warm! Only problem we found was lots of spiders inside the lodge! (It wasnt dirty), think it was just because of the woodland environment. Unfortunately due to British weather, it rained whilst we stayed- would be good if the hot tubs had some overhead protection.
Staff very friendly and helpful, great utensils for self catering, table was set up on arrival, along with a scrabble board. TV had movies station so great for a movie night in. Facilities on site to hire bikes and take part in activities.
Date of stay: 30th April 2018

Date of stay: 24th November 2017
We had a last minute deal in the most basic lodge. So no fire or hot tub. The only thing that I didnt like was that you had to pay £40 if you wanted WiFi. The phone signal was almost non existent so it would have been useful to have had an internet connection. Thants the only reason I didnt give it 10/10
Date of stay: 10th November 2017

The Welcome written in scrabble squares was just one of the little touches that meant so much. Amazing accommodation, the friendliest staff We have ever meet, nothing was a problem. Supper dog friendly, bowls of water and treats in the forest retreat. The best holiday we have had in years
Peter, Rochester
Date of stay: 3rd July 2017
The lodge was well equipped for our short stay and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hot-tub was very clean and checked every day. The area around the cabin was very well looked after and the cabins are very large with plenty of space.

The cabin wasn't the cleanest when we arrived but it wasn't enough to put a mark on our holiday at all. I would also have liked a little storage in the bedroom for clothes, there were no drawers or cupboards so we had to holiday out of our bags which may bother other guests.
Dan, Felixstowe
Date of stay: 3rd July 2017
The accommodation is superb. Much bigger than I expected. There was 6 Adults and a baby and there was more than enough room. The hot tub and outdoor dining area was the icing on the cake. Perfect.
Adam, Sleaford
Date of stay: 16th June 2017
Dirty when we arrived unfortunately. Sofa a little bit tatty and tv was slow and unresponsive. Also wifi issue was a massive inconvenience as some functions of the tv didn't work.

Great size accommodation, hot tub was clean and warm. The heating was independently controlled for different rooms so we could get our swimming gear dry but keep the bedrooms cooler.
Vishnu, St. Albans
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Stayed with Forest holidays/lodges on numerous occasions and never fails to deliver. Kids, dog & us absolutely loved it.
Helen, Leicestershire
Date of stay: 10th April 2017
The lodge was lovely and clean on arrival and very well equipped. This was our first holiday with our mud/water loving Labrador puppy and I was nervous she would turn it into something that resembles our home, but it was perfect for us and the floors were easy to sweep at the end of each day.
The hot tub was sublime and there was nothing better than at the end of a long day sitting in it looking up at the stars.
Sam, Eydon
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
Had a great time. We will be back and intend to try the other locations on offer.
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
I'm not usually so gushy but from the moment you arrive, the check in chat is so welcoming. It was even more than we expected, so beautiful and relaxing. It's not a wild wood, but there are forests outside the "Forest holiday's area" to explore and it all worked so well. We especially liked the rubber ducky man coming to sort our hot tub out daily.
Money wise, it's not cheap and the only reason I say value for money wasn't a ten is because we were unable to get a lodge for just 2 so had to pay for more people than were there and everything is additional, bit surprised to pay extra for wifi in this day and age.

But dont let that stop you treating yourself to this lux!!
Christina, Dorset
Date of stay: 27th January 2017
Fantastic lodges, if this is the cheapest I can only imagine how good the top lodges are. You didn't feel like you'd missed out on the luxury as even the Copper Beech lodges were lovely. We didn't have a bread board which seemed a staple item to leave out, and a little pointer in how the oven works would have been useful.
Rory, Ipswich

Cabin was warm and cosy, loved it's woodland setting and also the hot tub
Matthew, Wickford
Date of stay: 10th June 2016
By far and away the highlight of the holiday for us was the lodge itself. It was just my 4 month old son, my girlfriend and myself. Between the 3 of us it felt like a mansion.

There were all the comforts of home, but room to breathe and some lovely forest walks just outside the door.

The purely TV-based room service is a great idea for lazy people such as myself after a long day's walkabout.

The kitchen came fully stocked for cooking our own meals, the one downside I would say was the slightly unintuitive oven choice... But that's a niggle.

The hot tub was a lovely relaxing finish to each day once our son had gone off to bed.

The location of the lodges is about 15 minutes away from Thetford, nestled away in a smaller slice of wood. The main highlight is the quiet, and the walks nearby.

Staff were helpful and polite, with no qualms about having a little chat with you about your day when popping into the lodge for a top up on beer/food.

Would definitely recommend for a relaxing undemanding holiday experience, with plenty of outdoorsy activaties nearby if desired.
Date of stay: 25th March 2016
There was plenty to do; never got bored
Carol, Loughborough
Date of stay: 25th March 2016
The accommodation and location were great.
My only complaint is that, given the cost of the holiday, it is unreasonable that one should have to pay for Wi-Fi. I book many cottage holidays (over the past year at least seven) and never before have I had to pay extra for Wi-Fi.
Leann, Letchworth Garden City
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
All i can say is completely amazing! it was more than we could have hoped for down to the welcome scrabble board & dog biscuit to the cleanliness of the lodge.

Alison, Woodbridge
Date of stay: 10th August 2015
Good choice of cabin plenty big enough for two. The floors weren't as clean as they should have been on arrival but elsewhere was good. Lacked items in kitchen ( we cooked and prepared food most days) but overall we really liked it but think hot tub should come as standard.

The lodge is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. It was very spacious and get for 10 people. The hot tub was checked and cleaned every day and all the towels and bedding was of high standard.
Date of stay: 29th September 2014
Perfect lodge which was a good size throughout with the extra outside decked area off the kitchen.
Hot tub could have been a tad warmer but when enquired about this it was for health and safety reasons.
Claire, London
Date of stay: 29th September 2014
It was very disappointing to find that we had to pay to hire towels, as it was costly enough and I think this charge should have already been factored into the price.

Fantastic lodge in a fantastic location. It was great for all the family and meant we were all together to celebrate.
Beautiful location and the lodge was perfection.
Perfect thanks, so relaxing apart from noisy neighbours which were dealt with promptly. Would definitely go back 😀
When we booked we asked for the same lodge we had last time, but when we arrived we got a different lodge. I liked this lodge better as it was surrounded by trees more and not so many people walking past close to the lodge, saw a deer by the decking in the morning and saw lots of lovely birds in the trees! The kids next door had a hot tub and the sound sure does carry at night! They calmed down at around 10pm. (We have a child so realise how loud they can be so wasn't an issue to us!) We were extremely lucky that it snowed heavy while we were on holiday so we got to play in it! The dog and our son loved it! Just made our holiday more magical! I love the fact that we can just step out of the lodge and go for a walk in the forest. Also that all the staff are dog friendly so we were allowed to take our dog in the cafe! The staff are friendly and very helpful. We thought our oven wasnt working on the first night as it took 1.5 hours to cook a pizza, staff were straight over to check the oven. The next night the oven worked fine. We had a lunch in the cafe, which was average price, but it was ok. We went to Bury for a few hours one day and found a nice garden centre next to tesco who also accept dogs in their cafe. Its handy tesco being a short 10min drive away. The only fault this time was that under the sofas and beds looked they hadnt been cleaned for a long time as my son found out when he reached underneath to retrieve a toy car! This was on the first night, he came out covered in dust and dirt! You only get a broom and dust pan and brush, no hoover or mop so I couldnt clean under the sofas. The floors in general didnt look as clean as the time before and there were signs of wear and tear on the wooden kitchen work tops. By the time we left despite sweeping the floors were a lot worse as all the grit, wet and mud being brought in! We paid for a later check out so we could walk the dog and pack up, not having to rush so much. Overall we had such a lovely time, we are very sad that we wont be returning next year as our son goes to school and the prices in half term are way out of our price range! Unfortunately the price is way over double of what we paid this time. But we have photos and memories of our lovely holiday!
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Fantastic Lodge ,Perfect location,We both enjoyed the hot tub so much,a fantastic stay .
Lovely lodge with hot tub. Check in 40 mins late as they had 8 cleaners not turn up, lodge not cleaned very well bit under circumstances did not complain. Underfloor heating not working properly had to call engineer out on the first night, dealt with very quickly. Lodges very well equipped, only problem toilets very hard to flush. Hot tub cleaned everyday. Lovely surrounding, excellent if you have a dog. Would definitely go back. Tesco 10 mins down the road, shop on site expensive. You can purchase sky £60
Lovely cosy lodge set on the edge of the forest perfect get away.
It was an amazing relaxing holiday with beautiful autumn colours on our forest walks with the dogs.
Most amazing place to go. Couldn't fault it. More of a adult park. It's like centre Parcs but hasn't got all the facilities but it's amazing
The venue was amazing extremely clean and very quiet! The walks were easy to find and well signposted and the cafe was a lovely bolt hole to get away from other members of family if I wanted to escape or was a nice place to sit and get warm after a walk with others around you! Stunning place and location!!
A lovely lodge to stay in for the weekend.

We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
about 22 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.

if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 35 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.

This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
about 38 Miles
Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family.  Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats.  Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys.  Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout.   Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.  If you book tickets online you can obtain a discount of 10% and are also fast tracked on entry to the zoo - a great idea in the school holidays.
