With an enviable location in the midst of the Waveney Valley these stylish lodges will appeal to both families and couples searching for a peaceful holiday base in the Norfolk area.  You will have the best of both worlds with a rural location and yet within easy reach of the city of Norwich with an array of shops, cafes and restaurants. The Norfolk Broads are also ideal for days out and exploring.

The Kingfisher Lodge is brand new for 2011 and we think makes a stylish holiday choice.  The decor is of a very high standard and there are plenty of mod cons to make your stay a real home from home.  From a top of the range flatscreen tv with freeview to a well equipped kitchen everything has been designed with your comfort and convenience in mind.

Sleeping up to 6 adults the Kingfisher Lodge is spacious and well laid out with one double and one twin bedroom.  Both rooms enjoy a private ensuite bathroom.  There is additional sleeping for two in the lounge area.  Outside the lodge the luxury continues with decking, garden furniture and a private outdoor hot tub.  We think this lodge makes a perfect holiday choice all year round thanks to the central heating and double glazing.

Close by there are some great days out including Banham Zoo less than 6 miles from the lodges and Melsop Farm Park just 15 miles away.  Both of these attractions are ideal for families with children but will also appeal to couples.

Can't find a fault with it
Date of stay: 15th June 2018
If your somebody who is disabled this is the ideal holiday residence, the wet room provided is extremely good and you can get your wheelchair through all the doors throughout the lodge.

This was my husbands first holiday since having a stroke which has left him with mobility issues, he was very apprehensive beforehand however on reaching our destination it was relief all round. My advise is go for it!

Date of stay: 12th February 2018
Very relaxing break in this lovely lodge. Beautiful countryside and plenty of walks either on the farm land or out and about. We walked into Diss which didnt take very long, lots to see there and plenty of places to eat.
The lodge itself was equipped with all that you would need apart from a hairdryer so remember to take your own. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and tidy. We did cook and the kitchen was well equipped, the cooker dial was a little difficult to see as the numbers had worn off but it did the job.
The hot tub was excellent, the owner checked it each day and we made good use of it in the day and at night, lovely sitting under the stars and it didnt matter that it was freezing outside, the hot tub was lovely and warm. Would definitely recommend

Date of stay: 28th August 2017
Such a wonderful relaxing place. A friendly welcome and a quick tour of the lodge and hot tub and we were settled in for the week! It was so peaceful. Facilities were great all that we could need for our break. A jammed packed information folder was available to read with menus/pub reviews/days out/local information etc. Not far to walk to Diss 15/20 minutes or a couple of minutes drive where you can find restaurants/pubs/supermarkets/takeaways. The hub tub was amazing and we did not want to leave such a peaceful place. The kids loved the addition on the WiFi because they just can not do with out! Really want to return soon :-)

As there were 6 Adults (3 couples) staying, it would have been really nice to have had 3 bedrooms, but then we were aware of that before we booked, so aren't compailing particularly as everything else was perfect for our needs.
Overall we had a fantastic weekend break and would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic place, the fact it didn't have any WIFI made this holiday all the better, as it made us spend time as a family and reconnect! We played football, flew kites, visited some lovely places nearby. The owners were lovely and we bought some of their produce. On arrive there was milk in the fridge for us, coffee, tea & sugar - the little things that make a huge difference. We will be back, we all fell in love with the place and the area.
Date of stay: 4th July 2016
Wonderful lodge, lovely location and lovely people. The option to purchase meat and hire bbq's was a great idea too!

Date of stay: 30th December 2015
Beautiful lodge with everything you need. We had the hot tub which everyone loved. The lodge was much better than we expected
We went in December after Xmas and it was just the break we needed. It would be even nicer in the summer with the wide open space in front of the 3 lodges
Claire, Fareham, Hampshire
Date of stay: 27th December 2015
Very nice surroundings & staff were lovely and very helpful. There was only 3 of us so lodge was very spacious and furnishings were comfy and clean. Some obvious signs that needs a bit of decor touch up but was minor and only noticed this after a couple of days staying here.
We stayed over Xmas & New Year so only negative I would say is the lack of wifi as signal wasn't good. I understand some people want a break from mobiles but with a teenager in tow & being over the festive period , it's still nice to contact people without travelling to the nearest costs in the village half a mile away.
Asides from this, no negatives and hot tub was checked everyday by staff & lodge has all the equipment you need to basically live here.
We would look at visiting again.
Sue, Sittingbourne

Skylark lodge was fantastic. It was beautiful, spacious, clean and well equipped. The owners are friendly and very helpful. It is located in a beautiful setting. The large village of Diss is just 1 mile away and it has plenty of pubs, restaurants, fish and chips and a large choice of take away that deliver! There's also supermarkets and a good play ground.

Would love to see a king size bed :)
Date of stay: 6th June 2015
One of the biggest two bedroom lodges we have ever seen. The big veranda over most of the outside deck was a great feature.
Geoff, Heywood
Date of stay: 16th May 2015
This lodge is one of only three on site and is made for disabled access, with plenty of room round the beds for a wheelchair and also includes a wet room. The lodge was spotlessly clean, well maintained , well equipped, and with excellent central heating. If we had one gripe , my wife would have liked a small dressing table with stool in the bedroom. This lodge will also allow dogs. The other two lodges on site have hot tubs. If you like peace and quiet in a central location then I would highly recommend this site.
Simon, Cambridge
Date of stay: 20th April 2015
It was our mistake on booking Otter Lodge as this one doesn't have a hot tub (Disabled Facilities) but we can not blame Oak Farm for our mistake. We will return this winter to one of the other two lodges.

Date of stay: 24th October 2014
a dishwasher and the wi fi will be important
Date of stay: 17th October 2014
The lodge was great value for money, but the whole site really could do with WiFi as an option for guests who wish to use it. 3G in the local area is pretty non-existent therefore WiFi would've come in handy when trying to find out what's going on in the world, or local area. I am sure some people would welcome a break away from the Internet, but the option would be nice.
Ginny, Lincolnshire

Cooking pots and pans adequate but perhaps in need of replacement for next season. Could have done with some pyrex ware for microwave cooking. Missed the dishwasher but not a problem. The environment more than makes up for this.
Gillian, Wakefield
Date of stay: 30th May 2014
my son is wheelchair dependent and although this is not an adapted cabin we managed to access the cabin fine. we would have booked their adapted cabin but it did not have hot tub. we decided that the hot tub was more important than a wet room. my son loved being in the hot tub as it helps him to relax.

Date of stay: 31st January 2014
Fabulous lodges, lovely peaceful surroundings but also within easy reach of the town with shops and nice pubs and restaurants.
Lovely secluded lodges yet close to the town, with plenty to do nearby. Of course, there’s always the hot tub if you choose to stay put! Well equipped, helpful staff on hand, fantastic break.
Beautiful and very spacious lodge with great views and gorgeous sunsets. Everything you need including nice touches like tea coffee sugar and milk and buscuits. Love that the hot tub and table are under cover on the veranda. We were snowed in here for our whole visit so we're not able to visit any of the area except on the doorstep. Luckily Diss has pubs and supermarkets within 20 minute walk. The owner was extremely helpful, clearing snow and very friendly. The farm eggs are the best! Would like to return when the weather is better!!
Lovely peaceful break, the lodge was wonderful really comfortable & clean. Loved the hot tub! Just a short walk into Diss as well
A perfect location for a peaceful and relaxing break. The lodges are well equipped with everything you need, a lovely welcome pack including milk and biscuits, and is spotlessly clean. The hot tub is excellent, and is great for chilling out and star gazing in the evening. The hosts are very friendly and helpful....all in all a 5 star holiday!
We managed to get snowed into the cabin during the bad weather in February this forced us to relax and enjoy the cabin probably more than we would usually. Couldn’t fault it, nice and warm and a hot tub in the snow is something to recommend.
Lovely break, peaceful, quiet and private.
Great peaceful location with only 2 other lodges on the site. Only half mile walk to nice country pub then a further half mile into town. Plenty of nice country walks.
Had a lovely relaxing weekend away! Would highly recommend and hope to go back!
A great placecto get away from it all
A lovely lodge with fabulous surroundings.
Very relaxing break in this lovely lodge. Beautiful countryside and plenty of walks either on the farm land or out and about. We walked into Diss which didn’t take very long, lots to see there and plenty of places to eat. The hot tub was excellent, the owner checked it each day and we made good use of it in the day and at night, lovely sitting under the stars and it didn’t matter that it was freezing outside, the hot tub was lovely and warm. Would definitely recommend
Absolutely stunning location, so peaceful and the lodge itself very well equipt and comfortable, the hot tub is pure luxury- especially in the dark watching the stars, the owners are a really nice couple. Diss itself is a pretty little town, we came across some lovely eateries, and beautiful walks.
We had a brilliant family Christmas here. It was a perfect venue and the hot tub was a massive hit with all four of us. Can’t rate this place high enough.

Fun Days Out near All

about 5 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
about 12 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
about 15 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 20 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café

This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 26 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
about 27 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 28 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 30 Miles
This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing.  You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits.  New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children.  Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round.  One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October.  Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.

if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.

Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family.  Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats.  Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys.  Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout.   Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.  If you book tickets online you can obtain a discount of 10% and are also fast tracked on entry to the zoo - a great idea in the school holidays.

The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
