Everything we needed was there perfect for couples and families and a short drive or walk to the village.

The lodge was very comfortable and ideal for a self catering weekend. The location is a little remote, but saying that it was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and on the bench in front of the lodge, watching boats on the Broads.

The staff were very helpful.

Wonderful break. My only mild criticism would be to turn heating on day before guests arrive or supply secondary heating for temporary use.

Woodpecker Lodge is the best on sight as it has double panoramic views from the lodge. Also has a small garden which would be useful in the summer for those with children. The lodge had practically everything you could think of you might need for a self-catering holiday. The few pieces that we thought were missing we added to the questionnaire left in the lodge, so may now be provided. The other lodges looked nice but the view isn't quite so good. A nice touch by the owners of a Christmas tree in the lodge :). Woodpecker is ideal if you like to people watch as they sail up/down the broads and moor along the jetty. It was a little expensive but then New Year is anywhere you go, especially with a hot tub! The only downside was the constant humming from the hot tub during the night from next door as we turned ours off, then back on in the morning. This did not seem to affect the temperature.

Beautiful, modern, well equipped cottage in a stunning location. Train station almost on the doorstep if you don't fancy driving everywhere. Whole area clean and tidy. Peaceful location with boats going up and down the river. A few visits from the ducks and swans too.

Would definitely recommend to friends and look at coming back again

This was a lovely break for me and my partner. We loved the location and the hot tub was an added bonus. Perfect for a relaxed weekend of chilling! The cottage had everything you needed and the local area had everything you needed to top up in the form of a co-op. It was in a lovely setting. Would recommend to others and would defiantly come again to stay!!

Date of stay: 18th November 2016
Lovely place to stay. The one possible drawback is that if 5 people stayed, no separate toilet could be an issue as there is only the one bathroom. We did not have an issue as there were only the two of us.
Sue, Norwich
Date of stay: 14th November 2016
Absolutely perfect weekend break especially with the use of the hot tub!!! The only thing missing was a mop!!! Weird I know but would have been good to mop up the water after using the hot tub, very small request!!!

I would love to give a 10, just a couple of little snags , you had to walk around back of cottage to hot tub, the heating was not very warm down stairs, however we will return .

Beautiful, quite location however near enough to Norwich if you need more of anything! The location is tranquil and you can sit and watch the boats going up and down the river all day. All the staff we met were helpful and polite. Our accommodation was a terraced cottage which had been tastefully modernised and very well equipped for the self- catering option. The kitchen was furnished with quality utensils and there was a small welcome pack with a half bottle of wine, a large packet of biscuits and some coffee sachets, tea bags and small cartons of milk enough to tide you over until the following morning. The cupboard was stocked with olive oil and salt n pepper. Under the sink there was washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs and other cleaning products. The two of us had a comfortable week however it is very stuffy when it is warm and there is no air con or fans. We both thought that the space would be tight for the maximum capacity of five adults and that there was limited storage for the two first floor bedrooms. There is only one bathroom/toilet which again was ok for us however for five adults?! The hot tub was lovely however again four adults would be sitting knee to knee and the fifth person would have to wait their turn. The area around the hot tub is private and again space is limited so chairs would need to be moved around the tub. Two slightly negatives for me would be that you are reliant on your neighbours being considerate of you as you can hear your neighbours moving around and you do get to share their music and their baby crying. Secondly, you are reliant on your neighbours not ignoring the signs to not run on the decking. In summary I believe the owners are being a little ambitious with advertising the cottage for five adults. For us it was a relaxing, enjoyable week.

Well appointed accommodation in a lovely peaceful setting with a beautiful view of the Norfolk Broads. Well situated for a trip into Norwich for some retail therapy or the traditional British seaside resort of Great Yarmouth.

We had a lovely time in Cuckoo Cottsge. It was beautifully decorated with beautiful surroundings and an ideal location. We had two small children with us who also really enjoyed it.

The staff were extremely helpful and on hand when we needed them. We had a leak after a storm in our first night and we were able to speak to them at 6am and someone was round by 8am and was all fixed while we were out for the day. Brilliant service.

The only downside was having to walk round the outside to the hot tub but we knew that before we got there and we still enjoyed it, but not as much as we would have done if it was outside the back door.

Would definitely return. Lovely holiday despite awful weather.

Loved the cottage we were there in may so the marina was quiet .

Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Had a great time, hot tub was lovely and very clean as was the apartment. As two grown up couples it would have been nice to have an extra toilet/bathroom but realise this is only a personal thing.

Owners couldn't do enough for us and we had a very relaxed time watching the boats. Would certainly recommend this to others

Loved it here, a home from home, with the added luxury of a lovely hot tub.
Was a little cold at times, but that was dew to the cold weather and the time of year we visited, but overall, a enjoyable break for me the wife and our little girl

The Kingfisher cottage is lovely bright, comfortable and airy. It was lovely to sit at the dining table with a view of the little marina and occasionally catching a glimpse of boats on the boards(we stayed end of Feb/beginning of March so still very quiet). The cottage is modern, warm and cosy and includes most things you could want. Wifi and Netflix are an added bonus. Even though the weather was not so great for our visit we managed to use the hot tub on the veranda on several occasions. The private veranda, which is nicely screened with bamboo screening also has a table and chairs, providing a great place to eat in warmer weather. All in all a lovely cottage that we would love to return to.

Stayed in the Nightingale cottage at the Yare view holiday cottages for 4 nights in October.
Had a really nice welcome at check in from Belen and Samuel. We were shown around the cottage and also shown how to operate the hot tub.
The accommodation was immaculate and had everything we needed for our stay.
The view from the balcony was beautiful, overlooking the river Yare and the marina.
The hot tub was checked every day and was so relaxing after a long day of walking around the area.I would recommend this accommodation. It was first class !!!.
We will be back :-)
Thanks Belen and Samuel.

Really lovely quiet place, very relaxing. Clean and well equipped and lovely welcoming people. Pros are the view, hot tub, location and comfy sofa and pillows, cons are the fridge is small, the bedrooms are a bit basic and could do with a bit more luxury and check in could do with being a bit earlier as it's 4 pm. These are just small picky things though, overall it's a lovely place and we'll definately stay again.
Suzanne, Birmingham

Great location , high standard cottage hot tub was a real bouns but the view from there was not great with digging work going on .

Date of stay: 11th September 2015
This property is one the best we've stayed in. Number 2 in a row of 5 adjoining chalet-type cottages with shared front decking, overlooking a small private marina and boatyard, it was impeccably clean throughout. The furniture and decor is stylishly 'modern minimalistic' but functional and comfortable. The location on a bend in the river Yare is perfect and when the building work several feet away at the rear of the properties is completed...I would imagine very peaceful. Each property has its own screened decking area and hot tub at the rear providing your own private space to relax - unfortunately during our stay, although screened of from the other cottages it was in full view of the building work but I'm sure this is only temporary. The owners, Samuel and Belen, were very welcoming and attentive. Quite honestly, apart from the buildwork hiccup, we couldn't fault the place and it makes an ideal base from which to explore the broads and surrounding area.

Kevin
Great place and beautiful surroundings. Lovely clean cottage. Great base for visiting the Broads. Can’t fault it m.
Helen
A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend!!
Paul
Really enjoyed my 4 night break despite a chilly misty week. The location of the cottages is great with the river and small boat yard right outside the cottage. The only thing which would have improved my stay would have been a private back door out to the hot tub, but this is a really minor point.
Michael
Lovely accn, lovely staff, wonderful venue AND a railway station with direct line to Norwich or Great Yarmouth only yards away yet one never hears the trains apart from the odd toot!!
Karli
Amazing place they had thought of every single thing you could need .

Fun Days Out near Yare View Holiday Cottages

about 6 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
about 13 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
about 15 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
about 18 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
about 20 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
about 20 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
about 23 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
about 26 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
about 28 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
about 32 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
