Cherry Bird Lodge Escape Reviews

"Really enjoyed our stay, lovely hosts, cosy cottage and the jacuzzi was a real treat! Happy days!"
Claire - May 2025
"Just super."
Derek - Apr 2025
"We recently stayed in the R3 Platinum Spa Six lodge for four nights and genuinely enjoyed ourselves. The setting is perfect for relaxing, with peaceful countryside walks along the canal and nearby spots like the nature discovery centre and Greenham Common add a nice touch. Our lodge was surprisingly spacious and had everything we needed - though a few more kitchen utensils wouldve been handy. We kicked off the year with a BBQ that turned out to be delicious and the hot tub was just what we needed after a busy day. The staff were lovely, especially the lady at reception and the maintenance guy, who were very helpful. Wed definitely recommend it for a quiet, relaxing escape!"
Emily - Mar 2025
"We had a fantastic stay! The lodges were spotless, comfy and well-equipped. The peaceful setting with plenty of wildlife was just what we needed. Cheryl and her team made us feel so welcome - weve already booked to come back. Highly recommend this place!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Our Cherry Bird Lodge Escape review: Really enjoyed our stay, the garden was perfect for the dogs and it was so peaceful here."
Sophie - Feb 2025
"We had a lovely stay at this place, tucked away in such a peaceful, private spot. The owners were genuinely friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but it never felt intrusive. The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day! The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Wed definitely go back!"
Raj - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place had everything needed."
Amelia - Dec 2024
"Great place to stay!"
Danny - Dec 2024
"Cant wait to come back"
Danielle - Dec 2024
"Great lodge, super comfy, loads of space, hot tub was brilliant!"
Olivia Carter - Oct 2024
"We had a really nice stay here. The place was so peaceful and calming, just what we needed. The lounge TV could be a bit bigger, though. Still great overall!"
Arabella - Aug 2024
"We had a fantastic weekend stay and really enjoyed everything about this place. The garden was perfect for our dogs and they had a blast running around. The underfloor heating was a big hit, especially for Luna, who wagged her tail so much she hurt it! Honestly, were already planning to come back soon. Great spot all round!"
Sam - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was super peaceful and perfect for our doggie. Would come back!"
Charlotte - Jun 2024
"The cottage at Goddards Mead was just lovely, really well kept and comfortable. We loved every bit of it. Definitely returning soon!"
Martin - Jun 2024
"Looking forward to visiting again next year!"
Jordan - Jun 2024
"We loved the cosy log burner and relaxing hot tub. The hosts were really friendly, making it a peaceful escape. Cant wait to come back soon!"
Holly - May 2024
"We had a great stay overall. The lodges are absolutely lovely and really well looked after. The only tiny gripe is that the road leading up to the site is a bit potholed, so it could do with some repairs soon, but hopefully that gets sorted. Theres no shop on-site, but with Newbury just a few minutes drive away, its not a big deal. The staff were super helpful, giving us loads of tips on local spots, good fishing spots and nice walks. Wed definitely come back!"
Tom - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The beds were super comfy and the hot tub was fantastic after a long day. The lodge itself is lovely, perfect for a relaxing escape. It would be great if there was a welcome pack with tea and coffee, especially after a long drive. Also, the main bedroom shower was tricky to get just right, but honestly, these are tiny issues compared to how great the place is!"
Oliver - Nov 2023
"The cottage was just what we needed-super cosy and in a perfect spot away from the hustle, but still close enough to shops and stuff. The hot tub was a highlight and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a real treat. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Can't wait to return for a longer stay!"
David - Aug 2023
"Really friendly and welcoming"
Jess - Jun 2023
"Looking forward to coming back soon!"
Missy - Jun 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was just perfect for us."
Lucy - May 2023
"We found the lodge really peaceful since its quite remote, which was perfect for unwinding. Itd be great if there was a cafe or some activity options on site, though. Also, dressing gowns werent supplied and more towels would have been handy. The heating was a bit noisy early mornings, but overall, a lovely stay!"
Alex - Feb 2020
"What a lovely haven of tranquility, and relaxation. Totally, absorbed in the atmosphere and lovely to see deers grazing naturally."
Suzanne - Jul 2022
"The lodge wasn't too close to other lodges and parking is away enough not to be looking at cars everywhere outside lodges but close enough to pop to quick if you need something. Very friendly staff who are helpful and approachable if needed. Plenty to do in the surrounding area! The grass was kept tidy, and the area in general was well kept. It appears pretty secure with gates. Option to go on walks from the park."

"Superb all round thanks"

"I`m traveling a lot around UK to different lodges for a family breaks. This one I have to say was really nice: -very modern , newly built lodge -nice quiet place -perfect for families wanted to go out from the cities to have a nice relaxing time Only minus I could find it was no WIFI, and next time I would definitely book lodge with hot tube. This lodges are highly recommended :)"
Matt - Jun 2022
"Great Place"
Chantelle - Jun 2022
"Lovely lodge, tranquil peaceful setting, the lodge we had which was R1 in my opinion was the best one as we had a lovely huge lawn and green area directly outside the Lodge. Perfect for my 3 kids and the dog. Lodge was clean and beautiful inside, very spacious bedrooms, plenty of room all round. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back."
Stuart - Jun 2022
"I can't recommend this country park enough, beautiful setting yet only a stones throw from the town and supermarkets. The lodges themselves are simply superb, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The wildlife in the country park is superb, I am certain that we will be back again jn the near future. Thank you for having us and allowing us to appreciate everything at the park."
Emma - Jun 2022
"Fantastic modern lodges!! Staff were extremely helpful, someone came and checked the hot tub every day. We were given dishwasher tablets on arrival which was ideal!! Views are stunning, beautiful walks near by."
