Longnor Wood Holiday Park Reviews

"The lodge was spotless and really well maintained, which we appreciated. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had a great stay and will be returning soon for sure!"
Mark - Apr 2025
"We had an amazing stay! The lodge was spotless, modern and super comfortable, with the hot tub being a real highlight. The peaceful vibe was just what we needed. The staff really went above and beyond-couldn't ask for better service. Were already planning our next trip back, cant wait to return! Definitely recommend!"
James - Jan 2025
"Really liked the Beech Lodge, its compact but super modern. Staff were really friendly and helpful too."
Jason - Jan 2025
"We enjoyed our stay over Christmas; the peaceful adult-only vibe was perfect. The lodges bed was super comfy and the hot tub a real highlight. Definitely coming back!"
Emma Clarke - Dec 2024
"Our Longnor Wood Holiday Park review: We only stayed for a couple of nights, so we rated the value as a 4*. Honestly, a weeks stay wouldn't have been much more expensive, which seems like good value. The fixtures and fittings were really nice, but a few spots like the bathroom felt a bit awkwardly designed for real practicality. Still, we enjoyed it!"
David - Dec 2024
"We absolutely love visiting this spot! The countryside vibe is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The facilities are spot on and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. We've been three years running and definitely plan to go back again soon!"
James - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed the vibe here, will definitely come back soon."
Emma - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The facilities were lively and fun, plus the hot tub was a lovely touch. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We stayed at this recently refurbished lodge and honestly, its pretty great. The place is roomy, spotless and super comfy for just the two of us. The log burner added a nice cosy vibe after the hot tub, though the central heating did the job too. The prosecco and chocolates as a welcome gift were such a lovely touch!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Weve visited several times now and its still a lovely escape. The lodges upgrade was a nice surprise, even if it wasnt necessary. The games room is a great touch and the peaceful vibe makes it perfect for unwinding. Well be back!"
Sam - Oct 2024
"We stayed in a cosy one-bedroom lodge perfect for two. The space was quite generous and the bed was comfy. The kitchen was a bit tight but had everything we needed. It would be great if they added some hooks for towels and coats, though. The hot tub was spot on-warm and relaxing. Overall, it was a lovely stay!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here, the lodge was cosy and well-equipped for us."
Emma - Sep 2024
"We had an amazing stay at the lodge! Everything we needed was right there, perfect for a quick getaway. The place was beautifully decorated and spotless, which made us feel right at home. The little surprise of Prosecco and Cadburys Milk Tray upon arrival was such a lovely touch-really made us smile. The hot tub was definitely a highlight; we enjoyed it every single day. One rainy afternoon, we were able to relax in it under the cover, which was fantastic. The facilities offered by the lodge were extensive, too many to list! We honestly cant recommend Lognor Holiday Park enough and if all the lodges are as lovely as ours, youre guaranteed a good time!"
Emma Roberts - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and the location is stunning! Definitely recommend."
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"From the moment we arrived, the warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home. The location is spot on, with a lovely walk to Ye Old Cheshire Inn. Everything you could think of was provided, apart from shower wash, which was no big deal. Such a peaceful spot-weve already booked for next year. Cant wait!"
Emma - May 2024
"The place was really lovely, super peaceful and well-kept. The hot tubs were such a nice touch. We had a great time!"
James - May 2024
"Honestly, we really enjoyed the location - super peaceful and close to loads of attractions, which was great. The extra touches like the teabags, coffee, Prosecco and chocolates were a nice surprise and made us feel a bit special. However, the hot tub cover was a bit of a pain. Since its not on a hinge or bracket, its pretty heavy to lift on and off, especially for my partner who has a bad back. Weve stayed in lodges with easier covers, like those on levers or brackets and theyre much more manageable. The shower situation was also frustrating. The shower screen was tiny, making it nearly impossible to shower without splashing water everywhere - not ideal when youre paying for a luxury stay. A bigger door or a proper shower enclosure would have made a big difference. And honestly, for the price, we expected a small dishwasher too, since its marketed as a luxury lodge. Overall, we wouldnt stay here again mainly because of those issues, but the location and extras were definitely a highlight."
Emma - May 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this lodge, especially with the hot tub - perfect for relaxing evenings. The site is so peaceful and well-equipped, making it ideal for a chilled break. One funny thing we didnt expect was just how many rabbits there are - quite a sight! With our sighthounds, it made walks a bit more interesting, but its not a big deal. Definitely a place wed recommend for a calm getaway."
Emma - May 2024
"Smooth experience, straightforward and simple."
Oliver Green - May 2024
"Really lovely stay, would definitely come back!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Nice little lodge, everything we needed was there, really handy."
Oliver - Mar 2024
"We loved this place! Its a proper good place, so peaceful and well-kept. The hot tub was fantastic and the lodge had everything we needed. Plus, the nearby Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn in Longnor serves really tasty food. Definitely recommend!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We spent four relaxing nights here over Valentinesand it was lovely! The bed was super comfy and the lodge itself was really nice. Loved the peaceful vibe and it was a nice surprise to find a bottle of champagne, chocolates and rose petals waiting for us. The bathroom with the tub was great and having a washing machine and dryer in the lodge was a bonus. The guy at reception was friendly and polite. We enjoyed seeing the wild rabbits and squirrels too. Cant wait to come back in summer - the Peak District scenery is stunning!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We spent our Christmas here and honestly, it was lovely. The lodge had everything we needed, especially for cooking and we really appreciated the little touches like milk, chocolates and fizz in the fridge-such a nice surprise! The hot tub was a highlight, particularly with the cover st and, as the weather was pretty terrible, but we managed to enjoy it anyway. The rules about being out of the hot tub by 11pm are fair and the staff come around to close it off, which was no hassle. The only downsides were the bathroom needing some TLC and no blinds in the bathroom or kitchen, which felt a bit odd. Overall, a peaceful spot wed happily recommend!"
Harriet - Jan 2024
"We had such a lovely Christmas break here! The place was super warm and spotless and the bed was honestly so comfy. The hot tub was the highlight - we spent ages relaxing in it, especially on Christmas day. The location was perfect - quiet enough to unwind but still a nice walk into Longnor for food and drinks. The little touches like the Xmas tree, milk tray and Prosecco in the fridge made it extra special. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - Dec 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, will definitely be back soon."
Emma - Dec 2023
"Had a fantastic weekend! The lodge was cosy and the hot tub was just perfect for relaxing after a day out. Longnor Wood never disappoints, such a stunning spot. Hope we come back soon!"
Mark - Nov 2023
"We recently stayed again at Longnor Wood and it was just as lovely as before. The lodges are spotless and well-equipped, making everything hassle-free. We appreciated the little touches like dog treats and prosecco-nice surprises! Visiting during Bonfire Night was perfect; no fireworks, just peace and quiet. Plus, the lack of light pollution meant we got to see the northern lights-an unexpected bonus! Were definitely planning to come back soon. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!"
Jamie Carter - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay here! The lodge was well-equipped and comfortable and the peaceful surroundings made it a perfect getaway. Highly recommend!"
Alex - Nov 2023
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was a pretty lovely spot. The place was spacious and had everything we needed, which was a nice bonus. We were surprised to find some milk and a bottle of fizz waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived - little touches like that make a difference. The site itself is peaceful and pretty, perfect for a quiet getaway. One thing to keep in mind, though, is the drive; the roads are quite twisty and a bit of a journey if you want to head out for dinner. When we called beforeh and, we were told both bedrooms would have king-size beds, but in reality, the second room was made up with two singles, so my daughter and I had to share a bed - not the end of the world, but not ideal either. Overall, we had a great break and would consider returning!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"Lovely clean site"
Tracey - Aug 2022
"Fabulous for a get a way for a couple.Everything you could want and more."

"Perfect location within easy reach of so many locations. The Dragon's Back, Mamtor, Monsal Trail etc etc the list is endless. Coming back to the hottub at the end of a long hike was the icing on the cake ?"
Samantha - Jul 2022
"so relaxing in a beautiful location"
Lynn - Jul 2022
"Lovely relaxing 4 days. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Loved seeing the wildlife too."
Sandra - Jul 2022
"What a fantastic stay. The site was immaculate, the sfaff were friendly and the caravan was perfect, the hot tub was a brilliant way to end the day exploring. We will definitely be back."
Lorna - Jul 2022
"Park is very good and well maintained."
EWAN - Jul 2022
"Lovely quiet site in a beautiful area. The lodge was well equipped and spacious. The site staff were accommodating and a housekeeper showed us around the lodge on arrival. There was a problem with the bed being made up as a double instead of 2 singles, but they sorted this out within 30 mins for us. The site loaned us a BBQ at no charge, which I thought was generous as it was gas powered and some cost would be incurred by them. There is a small shop on site in reception where you can get some essentials and ice cream, and there is an information point with lots of leaflets and DVDs. There are a few areas which could be improved. The ensuite shower in our lodge was dire - very little pressure. There was also a bit of a noise in the bedroom from either the boiler or water pipes on the wall behind the bed. Also the site should really consider providing free and unlimited wi-fi site wide or at least to the lodges that have paid a hefty price. We have stayed in numerous lodges (often in remote areas) over the years and it pretty much is the norm to have wifi and streaming/netflix in them now."
Kathryn - Jul 2022
"Fab holiday. Well equipped Lodge and extremely helpful staff"
Margaret - Jul 2022
"We had a great two weeks here at Longnor. The staff were really friendly, helpful and shared local information on arrival as well. The Caravan was fantastic - so nice to have more space in bedroom and loads of storage space. We spent most of the time walking and cycling in the local area and then came back to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day. A really quiet site which was just what we wanted."
Susan - Jul 2022

This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 14 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ
about 14 Miles

The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 27 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
Rosliston Forestry Centre - DE12 8JX
about 30 Miles
Rosliston Forestry Centre is a beautiful woodland site with tranquil areas for Fishing as well as some beautiful meadows and a lake. Other available events taking place this year include an Archery drop in session, a Christmas Crafting Afternoon and a Mince Pie and Mulled Wine Walk.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 32 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
