There are some amazing lodges with hot tubs that make for the perfect weekend break in Essex whether you’re booking for a family, a group or planning that special romantic hot tub holiday with a loved one. From the serene beauty of Dedham Vale to the action-packed Southend-on-sea, You’re spoiled for choice on the kind of holiday you can book at the end of each week.

How to pick a cabin for the weekend

We’ve created this holiday-finder tool to quickly be able to pick out lodges that have bubbly hot tubs that are available over the weekend in and around Essex. It’s broken down into months and you can choose to stay Friday to Sunday, coming back on Monday. Or you can go for a shorter break returning on Sunday.

Deals & special offers – Hopefully, there will be some special offers and last-minute style deals to be had at the time you’re checking as we like to show good value for money too. We know a lot of people have found some nifty cheaper staycations through our deal tool!

What to pack on a shorter lodge break

  • The fun stuff! Food and drink! – There’s nothing like loading the car up with all your favourite nibbles and treats. A trip to the supermarket on the way can save you packing the car and will mean your food is kept nice and fresh. The last time I was away for a weekend lodge break, the family in the next lodge got a shop delivered directly to their lodge. Genius!
  • Pack stuff you can’t buy in the shops – Medication, clothing, any toiletries you need, cash and driver’s licence.
  • USB plugs, Phone cables and other chargers – The number of times I’ve been on a UK break and forgotten something like a charger or a USB cable. and it’s expensive to buy a replacement just for one weekend. I wouldn’t assume a lodge has USB sockets either, so it’s good to take a pack of them as pretty much everything charges via those.
  • Don’t stress if you forget something – Essex is still in the UK and you’ll be able to buy anything you need at a local village or sometimes in the onsite shop (if they have one). You can also sample some of the local fresh produce. Essex is famed for its Jellied Eels (if you’re feeling adventurous), Pork Pies and Kedgeree – a dish made with smoked haddock.
  • Swimming costumes – Another easy one to overlook but all weekend accommodations here are for hot tubs so remember to pack something to wear while you’re soaking. Pack swimming trunks and bathing costumes and a spare for the kids as your life will be hell if it’s too tight!
