Welcome to...

Wildside Highland Lodges

We think you'll love these fantastic luxurious lodges; they are beautifully furnished and set in idyllic woodland on the banks of the River Fechlin, at the heart of the Highlands. The views are simply breathtaking - there are stunning mountains, sparkling lochs and dark forests to explore on the South Loch Ness Trail, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fort Augustus and Inverness are within easy driving distance and there is a wealth of facilities to enjoy.

Wildside Highland Lodges are close to a local country hotel that serves food and takeaway pizzas, plus there is the option of having gourmet food delivered to your lodge and even hiring your own exclusive chef if you're celebrating a special occasion. There are outdoor games like giant Jenga and draughts, a good outdoor adventure play area, free DVD hire and free fishing.

All the lodges here represent the height of luxury but we particularly like Tomatin Lodge. It's extremely spacious with a master double and one single room and has an open plan living area with kitchen and diner. You can make the most of all weathers with a wood burning stove for the chilly nights and your own private hot tub with amazing views of the River Fechlin and the surrounding mountains for the warmer evenings.

The South Loch Ness Trail takes in seven lochs and stretches for 28 miles between Loch Tarff to Troutbeck with several viewpoints where you can take in the magical Loch Ness. Urquhart Castle in Drumnadrochit is a historical ruin that overlooks Loch Ness and is embedded in local folklore and legend.

Where's Wildside Highland Lodges?
Pat & Jim Wilburn
Wonderful place for peace and quiet, beautiful Lodges. Could not get better or more helpful staff anywhere. Next year will be out 3rd year and I'am already looking forward to it.!

Date of stay: 19th October 2018
We were in Red Deer and it surpassed our thoughts as to what we would expect.
Emma, Irvine
Date of stay: 19th October 2018
There were 6 of us in the lodge and we fitted comfortably, it didn't feel cramped. We really enjoyed it, set in a nice relaxing surrounding.
Ryan
Date of stay: 13th October 2018
Everything was utterly brilliant so only a few very minor suggestions.

The lighting in the main room requires some small lamps to create the correct cosy atmosphere. I'm bald so spotlights are deeply unforgiving. I work in tele so I know these things.

Hooks behind the door in the bathroom for wet towels would be useful.

Some kitchen roll and a dish-washing brush would also be good additions when self-catering.

Everything else, amazing! The welcome pack is superb and the on-site staff were lovely.
Tracy, London
Date of stay: 13th October 2018
Lovely place to get away from everything
No WiFi so Bring some books
( good to read instead of looking at my phone )
Loads of DVDs to borrow
Friendly staff
Abigail, Perthshire
Date of stay: 12th October 2018
Just wow! Lodge was immaculately clean right down to the fire. We couldnt have been more comfortable during our stay from showers to bed to sofa. We sleep with the window open at home and had to do the same as bedroom was really warm with no heating on. This wasnt an issue for us as we always have a window open anyway.
Peter, Battle
Date of stay: 1st October 2018
Amazing and will definitely be returning
Matthew, Aberdeen

otter lodge situated next to flowing river ,the lodge is situated on its own awy form the others only one small problem was TV reception very poor, we had one 8 mile walk to visit a large waterfall in the next village. Lots of deer and other wildlife about.

Date of stay: 6th August 2018
Lovely cottage .Lovely big bedroom .wish I had one this big
Had nice relaxing time. Shop a wee bit away so stock up first but the cabin is supplied with milk tea and coffee to get you started. Hotel up a small hill just beside cabin but good food and staff nice
Andrea

Excellent accommodation and location
Danielle, Hampshire
Date of stay: 4th August 2018
The lodge itself was very clean, had all the mod cons to keep life easy and tastefully decorated with plush furnishings. The little touches set the lodge apart, like milk/butter/oil/salt & pepper, tea&coffee, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid on arrival. Board games and a DVD library made quiet nights in enjoyable. Topping up the bird feeders so we could watch the wildlife from our verandas was really thoughtful. The hot tub was clean and looked after through our stay.
The site is well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and had a good sense of humour too. We would recommend Wildside Lodges.
Julie, Blackpool
Date of stay: 28th July 2018

Our Tomatin lodge "Red Deer" was very private, overlooking the mountains and right beside a river. It is very comfortable and cosy and the bedroom is quite spacious. It had everything we needed, including a great hot tub.
Christina, Leeds
Date of stay: 16th March 2018

Pauline, Mintlaw
Date of stay: 5th March 2018
Beautiful lodge, loved the decor. Home away from home
John, Holmfirth
Date of stay: 3rd March 2018
My only criticism would be that in Wildcat Lodge there were no accessible sockets not even by the dressing table in the master bedroom. This caused problems when drying hair etc. Had to go out and buy an extension lead. This would not stop us returning though.
Julie
Date of stay: 2nd March 2018
Just wonderful already booked for next year
Kate, Tamworth
Date of stay: 24th February 2018
Beautiful, spacious, immaculate lodge. The only thing I found a little off putting were the notes and notices everywhere about keeping it all clean. It didn't feel very welcoming but I suppose some people take the mick. The people in reception weren't as scary as the notes!
David, Oswestry
Date of stay: 24th February 2018
Very clean and comfortable lodge. Bed was extremely comfy and had big thick duvets and extra blankets in case it got cold! Hot tub very good and supremely relaxing. Only criticism was that the tub chairs in the lounge were a little tired and could do with being replaced.
Matthew, Leatherhead
Date of stay: 12th February 2018
Fantastic little place lovey and cosy
Charlette, Isle Of Bute
Date of stay: 9th February 2018
Fantastic lodge. Only recommend is the beds in both rooms upstairs gets switched as the ceiling is very low to get round a double bed.
Andrew, Leeds
Date of stay: 22nd January 2018
We went to Wild side highland lodges Jan 19th - Jan 22nd 2018. After battling through heavy snow we got there and was greeted by the staff. They helped us get sorted and settled in, explaining local walks and information etc. There even help get the car out once or twice haha! We had to abandon a couple of the walks in the Sunday as the snow and wind were too servear. Hoping to get in the auntuum, if not definitely next year!
Keith, Gloucester

Date of stay: 22nd September 2017
The only disappointment we had was in the first 5 minutes, and lasted 10 seconds, and that was not wild side, thought. When we booked the holiday the write up said the site was on the banks of the Loch Ness, when we arrived the site is to 2 miles away, from Loch Ness,
Andrew, Kendal
Date of stay: 4th September 2017

We had a wonderful time in Scotland. The lodge was peaceful & cosy. As long as your prepared to drive to places there's lots to do. Loads of walking trails & biking. Also as long as your prepared for the unpredictable British weather, with the right clothing & footwear you can still get & about & have an amazing time.

Wendy, Teesside
Date of stay: 3rd July 2017
The lodges are beautiful an spacious home from home, an very cosy an comfortable.
Hot tub was used everyday which was a pleasant ending to our daily travels. The log fire was very welcoming too when the temperatures dipped late on thru the night. Overall very relaxing tranquill settings everything you need at the lodge. The grounds are clean and well kept and plenty of wildlife to keep you occupied. There is a friendly local pub/hotel serves lovely food at reasonable prices and allows dogs inside also.

Great lodge, loads of room and well equipped. Even plenty of room for the big dog (German Shepherd).
Good heating and showers worked well. Hot tub was a bonus and helped ease the body after a day walking.

Went here for a 3 night stay for my Mothers Birthday and had a lovely stay. The cabin was very well equipped and felt homely. The hot tub was in a great location private and yet open enough to enjoy the wildlife. I would highly recommend this site to anyone and will definitely return in the future.

Graeme, Buckie
Date of stay: 3rd April 2017
Just a pity about the wifi, and phone signal, as there was none.
Karen, Nottingham
Date of stay: 3rd April 2017
The bed could have been a bit bigger. It was a 4 foot wide 'double' so didn't give much space.
Brian, Livingston
Date of stay: 31st March 2017
Midweek break that was magical in so many ways.
William, Lochgelly
Date of stay: 24th March 2017
Sharing cost with friends helped the value for money score. The only items you need to take with you are toiletries, food & drink as the lodge is very well furnished/equiped.
James

BEST HOLIDAY EVER!
Stephanie, Invrurie

We'd definitely recommend these wonderful lodges. The countryside around is spectacular. 4 nights wasn't long enough. Such a relaxing holiday in an amazing location
Elizabeth, Fraserburgh
Date of stay: 13th February 2017
The lodge had everything we needed. Some of the decor would benefit from a little spruce-up however it was of a more than acceptable standard.
Kay, Barnsley
Date of stay: 13th February 2017
Perfect holiday
Rosie
Date of stay: 6th February 2017
Sheer perfection.
Patricia, Near Exeter
Date of stay: 3rd February 2017
Overall very good - rather lacking in the kitchen with limited plates and blunt food preparation knives. Somewhat surprising in an otherwise well furnished lodge and considering the price paid.
From the roadway a little more privacy by some screening by the hot tub would be desirable.
Kendra, Durham
Date of stay: 3rd February 2017
Well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
Kevin, Alyth
Date of stay: 30th January 2017
Superb lodge, loved the fire and hot tub, generous amount of kindling and logs to burn, very comfortable lodge and a pleasure to visit.
Lindsay
Date of stay: 30th January 2017
Had the best time at these lodges. Staff were lovely and very helpful. All the small extras made it perfect! Location was out the way but that's what we were after. Only fault would be the hot tub was for 4 people and our lodge slept 6. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
Angela, Glasgow
Date of stay: 23rd January 2017
Absolutely great time as always. Can't wait to come back
Neil, Glasgow
Date of stay: 13th January 2017

Garth, Haywards Heath, West Sussex
Date of stay: 30th December 2016
This was a return visit to Wildeside, first time, at Otter Lodge and first Xmas at Whitebridge. The lodge ticked all the boxes. Superb location and totally relaxing. We were after total relaxation, away from it all, and this certainly delivered! The lodge and surroundings can't be faulted. The staff at Wildeside are so friendly and will not hesitate to help with anything you need. We completed all the walks Wildeside recommended and really enjoyed these. The walk to the falls was superb. We stopped off at the farmhouse shop and had a great lunch. The hotel pub at Whitebridge serves some great food which we enjoyed on the days we couldn't be bothered to cook. We will definitely be returning this year again. Think we have found a gem of a holiday location!
Claire, Cornwall

Date of stay: 4th November 2016
lodge was beautiful inside, and out attention to the small details was amazing, tinfoil in baking trays, milk and butter, candles, washing tablets for dishwasher and washer drier, kindling logs etc fire ready to be lit. fresh flowers on the table, made guests feel like you are really welcome here, my only two complaints would be the couch getting a bit old in that the cushions on the seat need re-stuffing, and that i couldn't stay for longer. would definitely recommend and have done so, will be back ...
Gail, Brighton
Date of stay: 28th October 2016
The most peaceful Lodge and a real home from home. We loved the river running by our Lodge and waking to see nothing but nature through the huge picture window in the bedroom. The wood-burning stove was so comforting and warming in the evenings, and for two people the lodge provided plenty of space. The facilities were excellent, and we would definitely return there. Aaaaaaah!!
Peace perfect peace.
Alana
Date of stay: 24th October 2016

Susan, Fraserburgh
Date of stay: 16th May 2016
No negatives the lodge was perfect and offers alot more than many lodges ive looked at previously on other sites. Everything we needed was in the lodge. A guide for the cookercould possible be handy as we struggled to use the oven but we aren't great cooks so could just be us. Will definitly be back again, hopefully in the same lodge as it had great views and was private enough for the hotub and eatting out on the balcony.
Greig, Hartlepool

We booked Otter Lodge rather late so we could only get three nights. We loved our stay so much we have booked the lodge for a week at the New Year.
Nicki, Falkirk
Date of stay: 28th March 2016
The first thing we noticed on arrival is how clean Otter Lodge is, and how lovely it is to have the basics for a cup of tea, a wee dram and some shortbread on arrival. The view is amazing and tranquil and the lodge is very private. The litte lane you walk down to access the lodge is very peacuful and you are away from the rest of the park. The hot-tub is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
Shirley, Newcastle
Date of stay: 25th March 2016

Had a great time. Stayed over valentines weekend and was a very relaxing and pleasant stay. Hottub was brill overlooking the river and the log fire in the evening made the lodge even cosier. Staff very very nice and friendly and sorted out minor issues very quickly. Wifi at Otter is non existent but a walk to reception sorted that out. Would definitely go again.

Beautiful lodges. Well equipped with all mod cons and a great log burning fire. The surroundings are stunning and the Lodges are surprisingly very warm. They contain all mod cons required for an effortless stay.
Our only feedback, is that the lodges are quite dark inside and could do with one of two more spot lights or some free standing lights. However, this did not spoil the holiday and we had a great stay.

Date of stay: 3rd August 2015
This place is by far the most tranquil and perfect location we've visited. If you enjoy your driving then I'd recommend taking the military road next to Loch Ness (coming from Inverness) if you're coming from fort William then the road is already awesome. The view from the window is incredible and what's not to like about floating in a hot tub with absolute peace and quiet whilst looking up at the stars. The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help. wpild recommend this place to anyone whatever the weather.
Claire, Tewkesbury
Date of stay: 31st July 2015

Date of stay: 10th February 2015
The lodge we stayed in was amazing, could not fault it at all. When we arrived it was spotless, there was a lovely packet of shortbread and a miniature whiskey to greet us, not to mention a packet of dog treats for out dog. So thoughtful.
The bed was comfy and the highchair and cotbed provided were great. There was no wifi but due to location etc. that was expected and didn't bother us at all.
The hot tub was lovely and clean.

Date of stay: 26th January 2015
The lodge was absolutely spotless with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities and the best equipped self catering kitchen I've ever seen! The log burner and hot tub were in immaculate condition and really easy to use. The sofa was a bit small but it would have been cramped to squash a bigger sofa in and we spent most of our time relaxing in the hot tub, not sitting on the sofa watching TV!
David, Glenrothes
Date of stay: 23rd January 2015
We enjoyed our 4 night break in the lodge. The hot tub and log burner were very nice. The lodge was clean with decent furniture and comfy bed.
My only gripe was the lack of TV channels. We like to relax with a few drinks and watch some TV before bed. The advertised 'satellite TV' consisted of just 6 channels. Most lodges have at least freeview TV. This issue wouldn't stop us going back though as everything else was great.
Nicola, Welshpool

Loved the red deer Tomatin lodge. Lovely views down towards the river and privacy in the hot tub. The weather was quite clear when we were there so we had a few starry evenings in the tub. Loved the layout and position. Perfect for a romantic getaway. As usual spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Definately will be back again next year.

wood-burning stove a real novelty and lodge is luxury from end to end. you won;t be disappointed. had friends visit us while there and they were open-mouthed at the quality of the lodge and the surroundings. loved the well-stocked bird-table and the wildlife it attracted. we had a deer, a hare, pheasants and partridges visist us.

Log cabin was fab, it was immaculately clean on our arrival. It was very well equipped and the homely touches made it a "home from home" holiday. Staff on sight were very friendly and helpful and really could'nt do enough for us.. The hot tub was a great bonus and we enjoyed using it every day. We have been on other log cabin holidays but they don't compare to the holiday we had at Wildside in September 2014. We will book again.

Maureen
Date of stay: 15th August 2014
Lovely lodge. It was very clean and cosy on arrival and little touches like the tartan cushions, sheep skin rug and the whisky and shortbread really told us we were in the highlands. The beds were great with good quality pillows and linen, however the seating in the lounge was not of the same standard. It was worn and would have been too small for more than three! This was my only issue.

View lovely. Hot tub very relaxing. High standard bathroom and well equipped kitchen.
Emily, Loughton
Date of stay: 1st August 2014
We booked this lodge for the outdoor hot tub and we weren't disappointed. It was drizzly weather and this was a nice way to warm up when we returned from days out. The bird feeders and bird guide provided was a nice touch and the cottage was very clean and cosy although the living area was a bit of a squeeze.
Kerry, Blackpool
Date of stay: 1st August 2014
The sofas in the lounge were a little small .
Abigail, Egremont
Date of stay: 1st August 2014
Lovely well equipped lodge , every detail had been thought of. Very clean and comfy. It would have been better if we had a larger sofa as we had tub chairs and sofa. That is the only fault I could think of as overall it was perfect. Hot tub was just what we needed at night. Staff couldn't have done anymore for us. I paid for a service wash and because I didn't want it dried in the drier (shrinkage ) she hung it out for me and kept an eye on it while we went off for the day. When we got back she had delivered it to our lodge. Fantastic.

Thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon in Wintergreen, made good use of the hot tub as much as possible, had to pinch ourselves that it was really us staying there. Sofas not very comfy for a cosy couple but that was the only minor issue. Perfect break, can't wait till we get the chance again.

Would like more cover over hot tub and front of lodge so you could use BBQ even in the rain, but still had a great time chilling.

The only thing we missed was a slow cooker in the kitchen, they are so good if you are out for the day and come back and your dinner is ready.

As commented on site, cleanliness just could of been stepped up slightly. The property had open beams, and there were several rather large cobwebs between bed.
Also, we had a log fire, but no poker set for the fire. And the plastic glasses that were provided for the hot tub looked like what you would get in a picnic set, not the best for drinking champers out of!!!

Had a fantastic time . The Eagle lodge was very clean when we arrived . We loved the facilities, location, decoration and of course the wild life was on your door step and the hot tub and the log fire ( could not get enough of it) Would happily recommend the place, loved every single day there. We had a lovely time at wildside highland lodges they are immaculate and contain almost anything you could need. In fact it would've been good to know what was provided as if I'd known there was a washing machine in the lodge I could've left half our stuff at home!
Natalie
Beautiful , clean, up to date lodge .
Sarah
This was a lovely cabin with everything we needed and the girl who checked us in gave us a great welcome and explained everything clearly. The hot tub was amazing and it’s a beautiful area to explore. The only issue we had is that the heating took a while to warm up so a bit chilly in the morning but the log burner was great.
John
2nd visit but different cabin. Lovely place, lovely cabins.
Emma

Amazing holiday surroundings are amazing. A 4X4 would have been helpful. Staff were great hot tub was great shame about the lack of WiFi or TV.
Sarah
Was at the lodge for a family celebration and we all had a great time. The hot tub was temperamental but was fixed immediately.
Christina
We had a fabulous time here. It is a beautiful secluded site. There is a local pub round the corner that you can take your dog in. The staff were brilliant and helpful and there were nice walks on the doorstep, surrounded by wildlife.
Julie
We loved Wildside because it had such a lovely location - so peaceful and relaxing. It was in the middle of nature and wildlife, but within easy reach of local towns and Loch Ness. There was a local pub within easy walking distance, which served great food. There were lots of good walks in the area and lots of places to visit. Our lodge was very clean and comfortable, with great views and was very private - and we loved the hot tub. The staff were very helpful and very friendly.
