Loch Ness Lodge Retreat Reviews

"We had such a lovely stay here. The location is stunning and super peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The lodges are spotless and cosy too."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Honestly, its nothing like Home VIP at all. Didnt feel any special treatment during our stay."
Alex - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The food was fantastic and the peaceful location just five minutes from Loch Ness was perfect for relaxing. Definitely recommend for a laid-back weekend away."
Emma Watson - Nov 2023
"My partner and I recently stayed here for a little weekend escape and honestly, were already planning to come back for a full week next year. The views are absolutely stunning, really breathtaking and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a proper retreat. The hot tub was such a nice touch - perfect for relaxing after a long day. We also had a meal at the cafe on the sister site and I have to say, the portions were huge and the food was lovely. The burger and mac and cheese were spot on! The only thing Id suggest is having a look at the shower; it was a bit temperamental, but that didnt ruin our stay at all. The staff are genuinely friendly and what we really appreciated was how one staff member personally took us to the lodge and showed us around rather than just pointing us in the right direction - such a nice personal touch. The lodge itself is gorgeous, honestly, Id move in if I could! Waking up to mountain views from the deck each morning was so peaceful, especially with kids at home, those moments are priceless. Plus, everything you need is nearby, which is great. Definitely recommend!"

"Our Loch Ness Lodge Retreat review: Really enjoyed our stay! The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for everything. The views from the apartment were stunning!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We stayed here for a couple of nights, sharing a Caledonian VIP lodge with my partner. Honestly, the lodge was stunning-super spacious and spotless. The spot itself is pretty perfect, close to Fort Augustus but surprisingly peaceful, which we loved. The best part? Definitely relaxing in the hot tub while watching the sunset both evenings. Its just what we needed. Were already talking about coming back soon-its a proper little gem for some R&R!"
Harper - Jun 2023
"We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage. Its perfectly tucked away for peace and quiet but still near local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating made the bathroom super comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie are lovely hosts too-well be back soon!"
James - May 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is charming, loved the log burner and the peaceful setting. Hosts were lovely too. Would definitely come back!"
Harriet - May 2025
"We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm on that rainy December day-so cosy! The bath was just perfect and the shower was lovely and spacious. Being near the flight path didnt bother us at all, honestly. Great spot for dogs that hate fireworks, as its so remote. Loved the conversion and the peaceful vibe. Thanks a lot!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself is gorgeous, with its charming timber-framed exterior and a really powerful shower that was much appreciated. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like a home away from home. Plus, parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus. Its perfect for walks to Thaxted and exploring nearby villages. Definitely recommend!"
Emily Carter - May 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right from the doorstep were perfect. The owners made us feel so welcome, truly lovely people!"
Emma Collins - May 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard's Mead. The owners, Rob and Sharon, have done a fantastic job converting this historic building with such care. They were incredibly warm and welcoming and Bonnie was lovely too! The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you like wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. Its a peaceful spot and wed definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a relaxing break. Well be back!"
Emma Clarke - May 2025
"We had a wonderful stay in this lovely spot, tucked away in such a peaceful, private setting. The hosts were genuinely friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but it still felt really secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! The only thing to note is that the cottage is directly under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, its worth considering."
Harriet - May 2025
"We had a fantastic time relaxing in the cottage. It was spotless, well-stocked and came with some thoughtful extras. Highly recommended from us!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had a really nice weekend stay here. Definitely planning to return later in the year!"

Emma - May 2025
"The cottage was stunning, with a cosy log burner and a relaxing hot tub. The hosts were lovely, making our stay really special. Hope to come back soon!"
Isla - May 2025
"We had such a cosy stay at this place! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm on a drizzly December day - perfect. The bath was lovely and the shower was a good size. Its true, its near a flight path but honestly, we didnt notice any noise. Perfect spot if youve got dogs that hate fireworks, as its quite remote. Really beautiful conversion too. Cheers!"
Amelia - May 2025
"We had a fantastic weekend stay and really enjoyed our time here. The place was perfect for what we needed and the pups absolutely adored the underfloor heating - they had a blast in the garden! Luna was wagging her tail so much she ended up with a strained one, but its all good. Definitely planning to return soon!"
James - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon have done a fantastic job restoring this historic place with real care. They welcomed us warmly and Bonnie was adorable. The location is perfect for exploring Essexs charming villages, especially Thaxted with its stunning old buildings. Everything we needed for a comfy, relaxing trip was there and wed definitely recommend taking some time to wander around the area-its full of good places!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had a lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful, private area. The hosts were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if needed, yet we still felt completely secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! A little heads up - the cottage is right under the flight path, so theres quite a bit of plane noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!"
Rajiv - May 2025
"We had a great stay at this cosy little cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still totally private. Robert and Sharon are lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place is super spacious, with all the kitchen stuff you'd need and the bathroom was well-equipped. The bed was so comfy, we slept like logs. The gardens perfect for dogs - totally secluded and with nice furniture. Plus, there are loads of walks nearby. Thaxteds restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, were really good. Wed definitely recommend it!"
