Thorness Bay Reviews

"The lodge was stunning and spotless, nestled in such a gorgeous location. Truly a peaceful getaway!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"We faced some initial issues with the gas and cleanliness, but the staff were fantastic and sorted us out quickly."
Emma - Jul 2024
"We stayed in this caravan recently and found it quite cosy, though a bit smaller than we expected. If you're a bigger group, you might find the single beds and narrow walkways a bit tight. The bed was surprisingly comfy-felt like a newer memory foam mattress, which was a nice touch. The caravan looked just like the photos, but sadly, there was no fireplace as shown. The shower could do with a bit of a clean and the radiator was a bit rusty, but overall, its a decent place. For the price we paid, it was pretty average, so we're happy with that. The only downside was the on-site parking-theres not enough space for all the caravans and chalets, so we had to park quite a walk away most nights. Still, we enjoyed our stay!"
Emily Roberts - Nov 2023
"The caravan was spotless and had everything we needed, but the bed was quite firm and the shower head was a bit temperamental."
David - Jul 2023
"Our Thorness Bay review: We really enjoyed our time in the squadron caravan! It's quite roomy and the enclosed veranda was perfect for the little one to play safely. If you're after a wallet-friendly break, wed definitely suggest giving it a go. Lovely spot!"
Emma - May 2023
"We recently stayed in this caravan and honestly, it looked freshly refurbished and had pretty much everything we needed for a comfy stay. A couple of doors, like the bathroom one, didnt shut very easily and needed a bit of force, which was a bit annoying, especially if youre trying to sneak out quietly at night. The bedroom door was a bit stiff too, making some noise if you tried to close it quietly. The cleanliness, unfortunately, wasnt quite up to the standard weve experienced elsewhere - there were muddy marks inside the front door and some scuff marks on low surfaces when we arrived. We get that families can leave things messy sometimes and the staff probably only have a limited time to tidy up. Still, it couldve been a little cleaner. Overall, not bad, but room for improvement!"
Sarah - Apr 2023
"Very relaxing stay, would definitely come back."

"Great location, friendly staff, would stay again"
Emma - Jul 2020
"Beautiful spot, perfect for family getaways, loved it!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We really enjoyed our stay overall, but the thin walls meant we heard everything from neighbours and the fridge noise kept us awake some nights. Still, a lovely experience."
Emma - Jul 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, perfect spot to explore the isl and with the family."
Martin - Nov 2019
"Beautiful place, highly recommend it"
Emma - Oct 2019
"Comfortable, clean, quiet"
Emma - Sep 2019
"We really enjoyed the Lodge, but had a bit of a hiccup with no hot water and no clear instructions for the heater, washing machine or dishwasher. Still lovely though!"
James - Sep 2019
"Prices were fair and staff were genuinely friendly and eager to assist us. Great experience!"
Emma - Sep 2019
"Had an amazing time overall"

Emma - Aug 2019
"Relaxed, enjoyable, exactly what we wanted."
James - Aug 2019
"We had such a lovely stay at Thorness Bay, honestly. Finding the park was a breeze since the signs were really clear, which was a relief. We got there a bit earlier than check-in and took a chance on our caravan being ready and luckily it was! The staff couldnt have been friendlier or more welcoming, which made everything so much easier. Checking in was straightforward and hassle-free, which we appreciated. We booked a Nautical Caravan, which looked decent online-probably mid-range from the pictures. I even considered upgrading the day before because I wasnt quite sure, but Im so glad we didnt bother. The caravan we got was really nice, with two bedrooms, a good-sized bathroom and a combined kitchen-living area that was spotless. My 5-year-old was over the moon when she saw the two tables, saying, Mummy, theres a table! Isnt that great? Shes seen tables before but was genuinely amazed by having two! There was plenty of space for us to relax too, with two individual chairs and a sofa and the French doors opening up to let the sunshine in.We were situated in Solent Breeze, which is pretty much at the top of the park, away from the main entertainment hub. Honestly, it suited us fine since the spacing between caravans was perfect and the view out to the bay was stunning when we opened the doors. It was just a short walk through some cut-throughs to the complex, which made getting there quick and easy. The staff, including the entertainment team, were all really friendly. Our daughter loved the kids entertainment sessions and we really enjoyed the party dances-such a fun touch. The pool was lively at times, but there was still plenty of room to splash around. The slide was a hit with everyone, no matter your age! We didnt try the restaurant or chippy, so cant comment on those.Overall, were already looking forward to coming back to Thorness Bay. Its a lovely spot for a family holiday and we cant wait to return!"
Olivia - Aug 2019
"Great holiday! The whole family had a fantastic time and loved it."
Emma - Aug 2019
"Had a lovely time! We're planning to come back often. Please keep us posted on any special deals. We're both from Lymington, so it's quite convenient for us."
Emma - Jul 2019
"Really enjoyed our break, but honestly, a week just flies by way too quickly!"
Emma Roberts - Jul 2019
"Great spot, really enjoyed it! Beds are a tad small for taller folks though."
Emily - Jul 2019
"Great spot for families, we really enjoyed our stay here."
Emma - Jul 2019
"A safe and relaxing holiday park. Friendly and helpful staff. The on site shop was very convenient and reasonable. The pool was good. The caravan park is situated near a small beach which was nice to have an evening walk on. There is a park next to the club house. The caravan was spacious and had all cooking utilities needed. There are supermarkets a short drive away. There was no internet or phone signal in or outside our caravan, but there was at the clubhouse. The gas did run out on day 3 but we went to reception and they sorted it out the same day. Overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely go there again."
Laura - Aug 2022
"Great location, gorgeous views of the Bay, Parade caravan excellent. Commodore caravan had a great lay out for a disabled person. Downside it was in need of an update on the seating area . Overall we were very pleased with the whole package and would definitely go again ?"
Marilyn - Aug 2022
"First time to I.o.w.definitely won’t be our last"
