Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat Reviews

"We arrived to find no electric on one side of the lodge, which was a bit of a surprise. Turns out the trip switch had gone, so that was sorted quickly. The skylight blinds wouldnt open fully because the remote was broken and theres no pole to open them manually, which was a bit frustrating. Also, the guttering really needs regular clearing - with all the leaves, it was like having waterfalls outside the windows! Definitely needs some attention there."
Barbara - May 2024
"We loved the peaceful setting in the woods, very relaxing. The hot tub was fantastic and the lodge was just perfect. Didnt want to leave at all!"
Jenna - Mar 2024
"We had an amazing time! The place was super peaceful, perfect for unwinding and just a short stroll to the beach. Honestly, we loved it!"
Harper - Dec 2023
"Perfect spot to unwind, stunning scenery and really quiet - loved every minute of it!"
Emma - Aug 2020
"Our Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat review: Overall, it was a nice stay despite a few small issues. The door handle on the en suite was broken and there was a leak in the kitchen window when it rained - not ideal. Towels had some marks and the place looked a bit worn compared to 2016, but it didnt ruin our holiday at all."
Emily - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was perfect and well-equipped."
Alex - Aug 2020
"The place is decent, but a few small things need fixing-like the toilet roll holders not being tight enough. Would stay again."
James - Aug 2020
"Great trip, would do again!"
Amira - Aug 2020
"Lovely break, second time with Premier, already planning our next trip!"
Oliver - Aug 2020
"Weve stayed at this resort twice now and our recent trip in a lodge with a hot tub was just as lovely as the first. We really enjoyed the peaceful vibe, especially being next to the woods where we could spot red squirrels during breakfast - its such a treat! We ordered food from the Bistro a couple of times, which was convenient and tasty. However, we did notice some things missing compared to our previous visit-like a long-handled brush, a vacuum and a clothes horse, which I think might be because of COVID restrictions. Also, I brought my own hairdryer and cafetire since they werent supplied this time. The lodge itself looked a bit tired, with some furniture showing wear and a leaky shower cubicle, but the beds were still super comfy. Overall, it was a relaxing stay and wed happily come back again!"
Ellie - Aug 2020
"Overall, a decent stay, though a few things could be better. We did run into some trouble reaching customer service, which was a bit frustrating. Still, we'd recommend it to others looking for a place to stay."
Sam - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed the open plan layout, plenty of space for us all to relax comfortably. Would definitely return!"
Mark - Aug 2020
"Great park, lovely surroundings, well managed, definitely recommend for a stay."
Clara - Aug 2020
"The place is really peaceful and the rooms are lovely, but a few little things could have been better."

David - Mar 2020
"Weve stayed here numerous times over the past eight years, mainly because of its perfect spot just minutes from the Fishbourne / Portsmouth ferry. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, from reception to groundskeeping. It's become our go-to place when visiting family and wed definitely recommend it to others looking for a good spot to stay."

Michael - Feb 2019
"We had such a lovely weekend at this place, it really felt like being miles out in the countryside, but without losing the convenience of civilisation nearby. The location is fantastic - just a short walk to the coast and surrounded by beautiful nature. We kept being visited by adorable red squirrels, robins, great tits, blue tits, plus saw a few rabbits and even a tree-creeper, which was a nice surprise. Honestly, its perfect for a quick escape. That said, there are a few small things that could make the stay even better. For one, the tea and coffee supplies werent replenished, though we brought our own, so it wasnt a huge issue. Its listed in the amenities, so its a bit disappointing when its not topped up. The place was generally clean, but we did notice some areas that could do with a bit of a scrub - the bits that tend to be overlooked between guests. A deep clean once in a while, maybe during a gap in bookings, would really help. Some small repairs like reattaching a couple of tiles or fixing the leaking shower head could also make a difference. The instructions in the kitchen felt a bit greasy, which wasnt ideal. The TV kept switching off after a few minutes of watching, which was a tad frustrating and the hot tub was a bit too hot - we couldnt turn the temperature down, so we didnt get as much use out of it as wed hoped. Theres a log fire, but the heating was enough to warm the place up without it, so we didnt really need it. Itd be lovely if they left a little nature pack with bird seed or squirrel nuts - we bought some ourselves to feed the wildlife, but it would be a nice touch for future guests.Overall, we loved the place. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant served generous portions that were definitely worth the money. Drinks were reasonably priced too. Wed happily recommend it as a romantic getaway for couples - well be back!"

"Lovely place. well maintaind Gorgeous beach onsite for families."
Thomas - Aug 2022
"We stayed in the tree house which beautifully secluded and only seconds from the beach. We were regularly visited by red squirrels, robins, wood peckers and a wealth of other creatures. It was a delightfully relaxing holiday, with so much to do on the island. Will definitely visit again."
