Hiding high up amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor and nuzzling the dramatic cliffscape of the North Devon coastline, Lynmouth Holiday retreat settles into the dramatic backdrop overlooking Lynmouth bay and the gentle buzz of it’s harbourside-town. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking to own your own holiday home on site to visit whenever you desire, it’s the perfect place to get away and reset amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor.

The town of Lynmouth went from a tiny fishing village to a thriving Victorian tourist resort dubbed ‘Little Switzerland for it’s rolling hills, sheer cliffs and cascading rivers. Whilst the World around may be ever changing, both Lynton & Lynmouth retain their vintage charm, frozen in the reminiscence of an earlier time, the towns are separated by the highest water powered funicular railway in the World and adjoin the infamous mountainscape – The Valley of Rocks.

Lynmouth Holiday Retreat Reviews

"We had a lovely stay overall. The place was spotless and super comfy, with all the essentials you'd need-though we did miss a bread knife. The only thing is, we couldnt open the windows in late October because of flies, since its near a farm. Apart from that, everything was pretty much perfect for us!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"The place was really well stocked and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. The main bedroom was perfect, but the second one was a bit tight for our teenagers. Overall, we had a great stay!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We stayed at Lyn Bay Lodge and it really felt like a home away from home. The place was spotless when we arrived and theres plenty of storage so you dont feel cluttered. Parking right outside was super convenient. We loved the little touches like the dinner placemats, made it feel special. Only a couple of minor issues-no hairdryer, so we had to bring our own and the hot tub area was pretty dark at night since there are no side lights. Still, overall, a lovely stay!"
Harriet - Oct 2024
"Could be a bit roomier."
Emma - Oct 2024
"Our Lynmouth Holiday Retreat review: Really enjoyed the stay! Great for dogs, perfect location near Lynton and Lynmouth. Would return!"
Mark - Oct 2024
"Great stay, cosy and well-equipped, loved it!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Great spot on the site, no problems at all!"
Jane - Sep 2024
"Really comfortable and well-equipped"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Really impressed with how spotless the van was both inside and out. Everything we needed for a great holiday was there."
Emily Carter - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was spotless and super comfy. The view was stunning!"
James - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spotless and super peaceful."
Jamie - Aug 2024
"Really happy with it"
Emma Carter - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan had everything we needed."
Harriet - Jul 2024
"We stayed in the Lyn Bay lodge recently and honestly, the space was fantastic, really roomy and comfortable. Its a fairly new place, so some little things felt missing, like a clothes airer or proper waste bins in the bathrooms. The twin bedroom only had one bedside lamp, which was a bit odd. The Wi-Fi was pretty weak, so the smart TV features didnt work as expected. It wouldve been nice to have an info pack with details about onsite services and recycling. Still, wed recommend it - its a lovely spot overall!"
Jamie W. - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, but the WiFi was a bit of a pain sometimes indoors."
Emma - Apr 2024
"Beautiful scenery and a comfy caravan. Its a bit close to a cowshed, which is charming until the flies become a nuisance."
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"Relaxing break, exactly what we needed! Lovely."
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely time exploring the area, its such a stunning spot with plenty to see and do. The location is perfect for outdoor walks and discovering nature. The site itself is clearly designed with campers in mind, which we appreciated. The staff really went out of their way to help us, couldnt fault their friendliness or service. The van was a bit of a let-down though - it looked quite tired, with some poor finishes like gaps in the kitchen worktop and a front door that didnt quite fit. No shower mats either, so its a bit tricky showering without wet feet. Still, wed return, just with lower expectations about the van. Definitely recommend for trips to Lynton, Lynmouth, Woolacombe Beach, Quince Honey Farm and Dinosaur World!"
Alex - Nov 2023
"Great space, very comfortable caravan"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a great time overall, despite the beds being way too soft for our liking. The site was small but beautifully kept and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Its a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Wed definitely stay again and recommend it to others!"
James - Nov 2023
"We had another fantastic stay! The site is lovely and the staff really go above and beyond. Dunkery is such a cosy little spot. Already booked for next year - third times the charm! Cant wait again. Thanks a lot!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely stay here! The caravan was comfy and the balcony views were stunning. The site was tidy and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely recommend it!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"Absolutely loved our stay at Malmesmead! The caravan was spacious and spotless and the location was simply stunning. Well be back!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We stayed in this lovely old-fashioned caravan and found it quite cosy and welcoming. The views from the living room window were stunning, really made the stay special. We did run into a couple of issues- the shower rail was loose and almost fell off, but they sorted it out straight away. Same with the slow-draining shower tray, no fuss there. The fridge was a bit on the small side, but it was manageable. Also, no baking trays in the oven, just Pyrex dishes. Overall, a charming, comfy place wed happily return to!"
Jamie - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay! The hot tub with its stunning view was a highlight and the kitchen had everything we needed. Only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was pretty rubbish. Would stay again though!"
Oliver - Nov 2023
"We had a really lovely stay! The peaceful countryside was perfect for unwinding and it was great not feeling pressured to rush around. The self-catering option was a bonus and the caravan site wasnt overcrowded, making it all very relaxed. Definitely coming back!"
Emma Charlotte Grace Morgan - Nov 2023
"Overall, we found the van to be quite comfortable and well fitted out. A few marks on the walls and door were a bit disappointing, especially since they should have been cleaned better. Also, they provide washing up liquid but no hand sanitiser in the bathroom, which was a bit odd. TV reception was patchy, but honestly, we werent there to watch TV anyway!"
Emma - Jun 2023
"We stayed at Malmsmead and found it spotless and well-kept, which was great. The Wi-Fi and TV signals werent the best and those single beds are honestly more suited for kids. Still, overall, not bad!"
Emma - May 2023
"The spot is perfect with stunning views and the accommodation was really comfy. The hot tub was such a treat! Great stay."
Emily Carter - May 2023
"Great stay, would recommend"
Emma Carter - Apr 2023

Andrew - Jun 2022
"Great spot ideal location all facilities were spotless. Honestly couldn't fault the place"
Geoff - Jun 2022
"Wonderful time had by all"
Sally - Jun 2022
"A beautifully maintained site with wonderful views. There's a pub at the entrance (looks nice but we didn't visit this time), an onsite laundry and a small shop in reception. I would definitely recommend that you bring enough food as there are NO supermarkets to nip out to (a Costcutter in Lynmouth has essentials but not much selection for more than a couple of days)."
Andrea - May 2022
"A brilliant place to navigate north Devon. Any problems were sorted very quickly with very friendly staff."
Phillip - May 2022
"We had a perfectly lovely stay at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, the staff couldn't have been nicer they came to find us as we got a little lost, then took us straight to our caravan, which was amazing, the height of cleanliness, even a little pot of teabags, coffee, chocolate, sugar and milk to greet us on arrival, we will book again, the site was very much a retreat very peaceful, easy to get out and about and lovely to come back to a little quiet, the staff were always cheery and smiley, a lovely holiday thankyou."
Yvonne - May 2022
"This place is amazing I cannot recommend it enough and no iam not related to anyone who runs it lol it was just an amazing stay the view is phenomenal just wish I could wake up to it every day so good for well being will defiantly stay again ten out of ten"
Janet - May 2022
"Amazing quiet site with fantastic views. Staff very friendly. Caravan very clean and had everything you need for a great break."
