About Lynmouth Holiday Retreat

Hiding high up amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor and nuzzling the dramatic cliffscape of the North Devon coastline, Lynmouth Holiday retreat settles into the dramatic backdrop overlooking Lynmouth bay and the gentle buzz of it’s harbourside-town. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking to own your own holiday home on site to visit whenever you desire, it’s the perfect place to get away and reset amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor.

The town of Lynmouth went from a tiny fishing village to a thriving Victorian tourist resort dubbed ‘Little Switzerland for it’s rolling hills, sheer cliffs and cascading rivers. Whilst the World around may be ever changing, both Lynton & Lynmouth retain their vintage charm, frozen in the reminiscence of an earlier time, the towns are separated by the highest water powered funicular railway in the World and adjoin the infamous mountainscape – The Valley of Rocks.

Lynmouth Holiday Retreat Reviews

"Lovely views, great caravan. A bit near a cows shed, which js nice at first but there are lots of flies."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"Fabulous accommodation."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Lovely holiday very relaxing everything we needed"
Julie - Nov 2023
"The site is situated in an amazing natural beauty area, great to walk and explore the outdoors. On site is definitely geared to camping. The staff go above and beyond, and couldn't fault them. The East Lyn van felt a little dated, the finish was poor, gaps in the kitchen worktop, blinds that don't work, gaps in the front door. There are no shower mats so difficult to shower then use the toilet without wet feet each time. Would stay again but with lower expectations regards the van itself. Definitely worth the visit for Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe Beach, Quince Honey Farm and Combe Martin Dinosaur World."
Timothy - Nov 2023
"The caravan was well equipped"
Kerry - Nov 2023
"Except for the beds which were far to soft for us, we loved everything about our vacation. The camping site is small (as expected) but superbly maintained and the staff was more than helpfull. The perfect pitch for exploring Cornwall. We loved to stay and can recommend it to everybody."
Fred - Nov 2023
"Amazing holiday once again ?? such a lovely site, helpful staff. The Dunkery makes the perfect little holiday home. Already booked up for next year, will be our 3rd year and we cant wait. Thank you."
Stephanie - Nov 2023
"Very nice caravan with great views from the balcony. The site is well kept throughout and the staff are helpful. Overall, a really nice place to stay and explore."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Really great caravan in a beautiful setting. We had a fantastic holiday staying at Malmesmead. Caravan was spacious, clean and comfortable."
Jade - Nov 2023
"the caravan is an older model but it was pleasant and comfortable. we had issues with the shower, the shower bar/rail was very loose/hanging off...but was fixed immediately on reporting. the shower tray was very slow in draining and almost overflowed, but again was immediately fixed on reporting...no further problems with the shower.the views were amazing from the living room window.the fridge was a tad on the small side, but we managed.there were no baking trays in the oven but there were pyrex dishes.a lovely, traditional very comfortable caravan, would definately stay again."
Andrea - Nov 2023
"Good accommodation, great hot tub with panoramic view. Well equipped kitchen with spacious fridge freezer. Well organised waste collection area. Only let down is very poor Wi-Fi. Would book again."
Frederick - Nov 2023
"We enjoyed the holiday and location nice to relax and not keep rushing around, beautiful countyside and lovely place, it was nice doing self catering and you can, come back when you won't and not have to rush, the caravan sitewas nice not to big."
Amanda Elizabeth Anne Lee - Nov 2023
"Dissapointed, not the luxury caravan and hot tub experience we were expecting."
Mike - Jul 2023
"Nice caravan but a little cramped"
Bernard - Jun 2023
"Well fitted van. There were a couple of marks on the walls and door that should have been picked up on cleaning. Also they supply washing up liquid but no hand sanitizer in bathroom.Tv reception played up a bit, but i wasnt there to watch telly"
Paula - Jun 2023
"We had Malmsmead, and it was clean and tidy, and we had no issues. Having said that, the Wi-Fi and tv signals were a bit flakey, and the single beds really are for children size!"
Stuart - May 2023
"A great location with amazing views. Accommodation was very good and the hot tub was such a bonus"
Rachael - May 2023
"Amazing place to stay"
Hayley - Apr 2023
"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Apr 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Apr 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Apr 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Apr 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Apr 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Apr 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Apr 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Apr 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Apr 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Apr 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Apr 2024
"Lovely location. Good facilities. Quiet site, not overcrowded. Pub nearby. What's not to like!"
Nicola - Aug 2022
"Absolutely lovely stay, everything was perfect"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Beautiful and Peaceful site with very friendly and helpful staff on hand to assist if needed"
Karen - Jul 2022
"Lovely, well maintained site with good views and friendly staff"
Jan - Jul 2022
"A fabulous site with outstanding views."
Wendy - Jun 2022
"Lovely clean van on a beautiful friendly site"
Andrew - Jun 2022
"Great spot ideal location all facilities were spotless. Honestly couldn't fault the place"
Geoff - Jun 2022
"Wonderful time had by all"
Sally - Jun 2022
"A beautifully maintained site with wonderful views. There's a pub at the entrance (looks nice but we didn't visit this time), an onsite laundry and a small shop in reception. I would definitely recommend that you bring enough food as there are NO supermarkets to nip out to (a Costcutter in Lynmouth has essentials but not much selection for more than a couple of days)."
Andrea - May 2022
"A brilliant place to navigate north Devon. Any problems were sorted very quickly with very friendly staff."
Phillip - May 2022
"We had a perfectly lovely stay at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, the staff couldn't have been nicer they came to find us as we got a little lost, then took us straight to our caravan, which was amazing, the height of cleanliness, even a little pot of teabags, coffee, chocolate, sugar and milk to greet us on arrival, we will book again, the site was very much a retreat very peaceful, easy to get out and about and lovely to come back to a little quiet, the staff were always cheery and smiley, a lovely holiday thankyou."
Yvonne - May 2022
"This place is amazing I cannot recommend it enough and no iam not related to anyone who runs it lol it was just an amazing stay the view is phenomenal just wish I could wake up to it every day so good for well being will defiantly stay again ten out of ten"
Janet - May 2022
