Skylark pod was perfect for what we needed, only thing I didnt like is that was had loads of bushes around the pod and we couldnt leave the door open for the midges and I got bit loads

We loved the lodge. It was absolutely spotless and had all modern fitted appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine. It was more spacious than we had anticipated and nicely decorated. It has a large decking area and a great sized hot tub. They are both a total sun trap too!! Amazing. Parking spaces available next to the lodge. Its a great lodge and we will definitely be back.

Date of stay: 18th March 2018
Moorhen Cottage was spotlessly clean and warm and cosy. It was very well equipped and had everything we needed and more. It was winter when we stayed so the outside area wasn't too important to us but the cottage is at the bottom of a steep slope and it is a little overlooked by the road into the site and by other lodges. The garden is open to a footpath at the front and at the back it has a gate on to a residential road. The hot tub sits next to the path running to two other lodges so is quite exposed. It wasn't what I had imagined but once in the cottage with the curtains closed it didn't matter and when in the hot tub we chatted to the other guests passing by. I wouldn't let this put you off as the cottage is lovely and offers a lot of space for a bigger group / family.

Laura, Wakefield
Date of stay: 3rd January 2018
The lodge and setting was absolutely stunning for a relaxing holiday, we stayed by the lake side and loved the geese visiting us on a morning and my cocker spaniel loved pottering up and down the balcony.

The only down side to the location is its miles away from anywhere like towns/parks etc so youve got to have a drive out to find some places. We drove out each day and found really nice places like Llangollen and loggerheads country park.

Overall a really nice place for a relaxing break and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Date of stay: 24th November 2017
Went away for 2 nights, it was so peaceful and relaxing. We were by the lake and you can hear the water at night. It's magical. We spent hours in the hot tub, jets off, watching the stars and listening to the lake water flowing. Our family have had a rough couple of months and this break is exactly what we needed. The maintenance guy took us to our lodge as they aren't numbered up so it's difficult to find. This was no trouble for him and was very friendly. Would definitely return.
Katie, Manchester
Date of stay: 19th November 2017
I only marked down slightly because we didn't utilise the hot tub that much (which obviously infalted the cost significantly) - blame the jealous dog!

Date of stay: 13th November 2017
I have stayed at this retreat twice now and will be returning again in the summer. I have stayed in both Pheasant Lodge and Hawk Lodge - both where amazing. Hawk Lodge was more private with a private garden but both lodges where great!
Hot-tubs have Bluetooth connection so you can listen to music through the speakers!
Great weekends spent here and staff are very friendly.

I would definitely recommend Herons Lake Retreat!

Date of stay: 5th November 2017
The only reason I put a 9 was because the pillows were not that comfy. When I sat on the bed, a few of the slats were not in place so we had to pick up the matress to replace them. The bed was comfortable though.

Second time here stayed in Herons lodge which was once again perfect, staff very helpful and even came out at 8.00 pm on our last evening to sort out issue with hot tub.

Date of stay: 2nd October 2017
We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Was like a home from home regarding facilities and we were very surprised..even a barbecue on the deck!...the hot tub was amazing. plenty of seating areas on the deck and also in the surrounding garden we had. privacy was really good if we propped up the pool cover behind us we were well hidden!! Views were amazing to wake up to each morning. Only thing that was missing was a washing line to dry costumes on lol but we cannot fault at all and would happily go back again next year

I absolutely loved this little vacation. I had booked this @ herons lake retreat, cuckoo lodge for my boyfriends birthday. Lyn was an absolute angel, so helpful over the phone - arranged a birthday package to be set up on our arrival which included balloons, prosecco, banners and chocolate. She helped organise an early check in for us so we could make the most of our day. Thank you for a lovely 2 nights. I also have to recommend the Indian take out near by that we drove to! Amazing. Thanks

Date of stay: 31st July 2017
Beautiful location. The accommodation was clean and well presented and staff were really helpful when we asked about local family friendly places to eat and shop. The setting was breathtaking, we stayed in Kestrel and had views over the surrounding countryside from both inside cabin and from the porch. Our hot-tub was set a few feet away from the cabin in a secluded corner that still allowed you take in the stunning scenery. The site itself is just a few minutes drive from all popular locations, such as Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and the Point of Ayr Lighthouse at Talacre bay among others. We had our large dog, school age child and 6 month old baby with us and the only fault we could find is a lack of dog pooh bins on site, admittedly we could have thrown it in with normal rubbish but all bins on site we spotted were recycle bins, so we ended up keeping bags tucked away outside the cabin until we went off site to dispose of them. There were admittedly a lot of dog pooh bins along country roads and towns. It's a very dog friendly area. We will definitely be returning.
Clay, Birmingham
Date of stay: 30th July 2017
We stayed in the woodpecker lounge. It was absolutley stunning, Lynn the site manager was so helpful during our stay, definitely cant wait to rebook that cabin.

The only issue we had was phone reception, but that cant be helped.

Lodge was contemporary and fresh, great facilities and location. The swan and ducks were friendly and came to greet us every morning. Hot tub was perfect. All the facilities within the lodge contributed to a relaxing break. The only reason i have given an 8 for cleanliness was because of the cobwebsin the windows/ceilings but everywhere else was spotless.
Michael, Liverpool
Date of stay: 26th July 2017
Stayed in Red Kite lodge which was excellent didn't want to go home. The only little grumble was check in was 4pm and check out is 10am but they do offer early check in and late check out for extra cost.

Absolutely beautiful stay - easy enough to find. The landscape was lush, nicely out the way made you feel relaxed at all times, but close enough to the Caerwys village up the road. The pod its self was just perfect, just the right size, extremely clean. Simply faultless. Will hopefully stay again.

Cabin was nicen the only trouble we had dogs and mother, the pictures on the site had banister all around the veranda, but when we turned up it only had 3 sides so we couldn't leave the dogs outside unattended.and also there was no hand rail for my mum who has trouble getting down stairs.also there is no sun,in the shade call the time but lovely place.

Date of stay: 28th April 2017
Lovely lodge with everything you need in it. Good size for two people. Good storage space. Hot tub was lovely and warm and clean. The only negative I can say is that the lodge could do with a good dusting, de cobwebing and windows cleaning. The site has many footpaths to walk, great if you are taking your dog.
Ruby, Leeds
Date of stay: 28th April 2017
Nice cabin, hot tub is a lovely touch, lovely area.
Date of stay: 28th April 2017
The cabin is lovely, clean and well maintained. Comfy bed and nice to have the TV/DVD. Bathroom lovely and kitchen has everything you need.

Only design flaw is that the radiators are behind the sofa and fridge so takes a while to warm up. Not too bad in summer but imagine in winter it could be quite chilly.
Chantelle, Stoke On Trent
Date of stay: 28th April 2017
great place, lovely and relaxing, looking at booking again end of September.
Kate, Shropshire
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Lovely quaint lodge, the downstairs is the kitchen, bathroom and small dining area / entrance. Upstairs is an open plan living area and bedroom with a balcony. The premises were clean and well kept and in good condition and the hot tub was lovely. I wish there was a little more space outside at this premises for a lounger but this is only a small thing given the enjoyment we had during our stay.

Lodge was ideal for our needs though kitchen a little small. Some cobwebs evident both in and out side. Door handles down stairs, particularly the bathroom need to be a different fitting as near the radiator and difficult to open when hands wet. Hot tub wonderful.

The lodge is lovely, I only took a point off furniture and fittings because the curtains don't fit the windows properly in living area and bed upstairs is just a mattress on the floor.

Had a lovely break with a few minor hiccups. Had to wait for our chalet to finish being cleaned beyond the time we were told it would be ready, which was slightly inconvenient as it was pouring with rain and we had our dog with us and couldn't find anywhere to go as all the local pubs were either closed or not dog friendly. The chalet itself was immaculate, spacious and tastefully decorated. Lovely peaceful surroundings. Hot tub was ready as soon as we were able to check in.
We did have problems with power cuts. We have probably around 10 power cuts over the 2 nights we stayed. The staff were friendly and helpful but not able to solve the problem so we had an early night as nothing was working. The bath also leaked and flooded the bathroom floor. Again, staff tried quickly to resolve the problem but when you only have 2 nights, we thought it impinged on our tranquility a little!
Lorna, Wigan
Date of stay: 24th February 2017
We had the best couple of days ever. We went during storm Doris so the power went out for a couple of hours, but the staff were so helpful and sorted the power out in no time.

You can call the staff at any time of the day and they will come.

Would definitely visit again and will be recommending to friends.

An absolutely fantastic break. The staff (Julie or Jane - so sorry for being so forgetful!) was just brilliant. She was very helpful and really informative about the local area.

The facilities were excellent. Very well kept and extremely clean. The surrounding area was clean. It was a beautiful, peaceful break. Just what we both needed.

Thank you so much for a fabulous break!

Unfortunately, all the good photos are on my partners phone else I'd have uploaded a few with this review!

Next time we hope to bring our dog with us x

Date of stay: 5th December 2016
The skylark pods were the only thing I could see for two people and you had to convert the sofa into a bed and we couldn't be bothered they did look cute but very small so we got osprey and loved it and we had our own private garden in our opinion the most private lodge
We would like more options for just couples as we paid for four people when only two of us went but we loved it and really didn't want to leave!! The staff were so kind and lovely and we can't wait to go back next year!
Date of stay: 4th December 2016

Kyle, Ellesmere Port
Date of stay: 18th November 2016
First time booking with hoseasons definitely would stay again. Only thing is there's no path way to the skylark pod and it's not lit very well so in the dark you can't see a thing the pod inside was beautiful except the crack on mirror. They said no wifi and there actually was a booster so you could get it very modern and contemporary design. Hot tub beautiful very relaxing and private. Only thing is nowhere to go but overall gorgeous. Thank you xx

Absolutely beautiful setting! Couldn't fault the lodge, clean, warm and welcoming, we had everything we needed! (apart from a decent WiFi connection) But, we did have a wonderful hot tub! The owner was so helpful, guiding us to the cabin over the phone when we arrived very late in the evening, leaving us a huuuuge bag of food to feed the ducks, which our little nephew loved by the way! Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back again!

Date of stay: 7th October 2016
Had a lovely break. Cabin had everything you need. Relaxing in the hot tub was good but would have been better if it wasnt covered in cobwebs. The table full of candle wax. The ornaments in the garden area were rusty and could do with being replaced or taking away. Cobwebs and lack of moving things out to clean behind in the cabin.Other visitors cloathes under bed. The cleanliness realy let it all down. Saying this I would go again.
Jordan, Tamworth
Date of stay: 3rd October 2016
Beautiful little log lodge in a great location with great views. Cosy indeed but we had more than enough space for 2 of us. Super comfortable sofa, comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Had everything we needed. Would recommend this to anyone!

Absolutely fantastic place, lodge was in a nice location, very quiet. Everything was very clean and hot tub was lovely. Definitely recommend.
Christopher, Bradford
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
The cabin was very clean inside but the outside could have been a little cleaner.

We accept that in a woodland setting there is bound to be a lot of spiders on a wooden log cabin but the exterior looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while.

The lodge was really lovely. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness. Items in the cupboards were dirty and the floor wasn't clean.
Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
Lodge was perfect for us, two couples and 2 dogs. Lovely space outside and very private.
The hot tub was perfect. Lodge very cosy and had everything we needed. 19th August - 3 nights

Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
The lodge is set out on the top of the lake so is very private and quiet as there are no other lodges nearby. The lodge was very nice and clean. I feel the photos on the website don't do it much justice so was pleasantly surprised when I got there. The views from the lodge are stunning and my 8 year old son said it was the best holiday he had been as he loves fishing and caught 2 carp from the lake. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the hot tub was great.
Colin, Chesterfield
Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
Lodge was perfect and staff very helpful. Site needs some TLC though, a playground for children would be great. Plug sockets child safety ones and a clothes airer would also be good additions as would some outside plastic glasses. Overall a top class lodge though.
Paula, Derby
Date of stay: 22nd August 2016
the lodge we stayed in was stunning, set in lovely surroundings, the bed was very comfortable, we slept very well, however what i felt let it down was little things like the light in the living area didnt work and there was no bulb in the lamp that was in there, although when i spoke to lady at the office she provided us with a couple of small lamps, the jacuzzi bath worked but when we switched it on black muck came out of the jets, patio furniture was broke, only half the toaster worked, and crockery was chipped, although i feel these are only minor things and didnt effect our holiday a deal, i do feel that for the amount of money we paid, these things should have been dealt with before we stayed and they should be part of a check list that should be looked at between guests staying, overall we had a lovely stay but they just need to brush up on the small things, the lodge is advertised as luxury, and thats what i paid for so that is what i should have got.

Stayed in Robin Lodge extremely comfortable an clean. Hot tub was amazing. BBQ optional with a charge. We choose Robyn Lodge as in a review it stated it was secluded but it's not at all, but this wasn't a problem. Lodge is in the woods and not lakeside.

Perfect holiday. Stayed in the Robin Woodside lodge. Cosy little lodge perfect for a weekend away. comfy bed and perfect facilities.

Best bit was this lodge accept dogs which is a definite must for me my partner and our golden retriever.

The site had an issue with the water pressure when we arrived (not the fault of the site) and so the hot tub was not quite full as but this didn't stop the lady on site coming back and checking all evening until it was sorted.

Would happily stay here again very nice lodge. Thanks

Daniel, Huddersfield
Date of stay: 15th April 2016
Lovely place to stay the lodge was beautiful inside an had everything we needed.
My only issue was the garden area around the lodge itself, could of been better kept was quite muddy so couldn't really use the outdoor table or bbq area and the hot tub could of been situated on the decking to make it easier to get in and out an provide more privacy while in it. But over all was really nice and the surrounding country side was beautiful.
Ashley, Swindon

Lovely staff, lovely cabin however the floor near to the bifold doors had lifted significantly and the mouldy on the doors had spread to the curtains. That said, the staff were great and told us it was all being replaced the day after our stay. Everything else 10/10!

A beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting. I'd have scored this 10 out of 10 if we hadn't had to put the dishwasher on to wash the last guests pots and pans, clean out some of the fridge and had a comfier bed. Future guests should be aware that the hot tub is checked every morning and can only be accessed via walking through the lodge.

Lovely clean and spacious lodge. Very peaceful. Liked the way the hot tubs were positioned to make them private. Had a lovely relaxing weekend .
Gorgeous surroundings and lovely cottage. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. We had a great rest. Some fabulous restaurants nearby My only complaint was the lack of mirrors!
Amazing as always! I love it here!!
A fantastic site for a getaway to relax. Ideal for couples as limited facilities for younger children. Highly recommend for a quiet place to spend a couple of nights at. All the staff where extremely helpful
Lovely place! Been here twice now and would defo return. Nice local pubs, lovely walks and a few nice beaches in 30 min drive. Rooms are decorated to high standard and very clean. We took our two dogs and was provided with blankets and towels for them, which was also very handy. 5*
Lovely location. The cabin was clean and modern. Noticed small issues like broken bedroom lock and creaky bathroom door but nothing major
Just what we needed a nice quiet relaxing time. The site was lovely + well looked after. We shall definitely return.
Absolutely fab place! Stayed for a long weekend in the Quail cabin - lovely set up and the hot tub topped the weekend off! We were able to take the dog too and had trips out to the beach and dog friendly pubs nearby.

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.
