Woodlakes Country Park Reviews

"The hot tub was just as advertised-hot and relaxing. Loved the privacy and the nice touch of chemicals on day two. Pretty spot on overall!"
James - Dec 2024
"Hot Tub, was as it says, Hot... this also had chemicals added on day 2. The sauce around the Hot tub was good and private"
Robert - Dec 2024
"Honestly, we expected more from the log cabin based on the pictures online. The door lock was a bit of a pain to use and inside, it was pretty dirty - dog hairs on the sofa and dead flies by the windows. Wifi was barely usable, which was frustrating and it took almost a day for the hot tub to heat up. For nearly £400 for two nights, it didnt feel like good value at all. Sorry for the late feedback, just saw the review email now."
Emma - Nov 2024
"no hot tub at this venue - park helped us and moved us as error on hosesons behalf"

"Our Woodlakes Country Park review: Lovely spot with a charming front garden. The skybedroom and sauna sound brilliant! Definitely recommend."
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Quiet retreat. Bar and restaurant not open on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. We were only there Sun to Tues so cant review those. Shouldve mentioned this on the website"

"The place was spotless and had a sleek look. The hot tub was definitely the best part! Our boys loved it."

"Very clean and modern, the hot tub was the highlight! Our boys loved it ????"
Mel - Jul 2024
"We had a lovely stay overall. The location is perfect, with stunning views over the lake that really made our trip special. The outdoor space and hot tub were fantastic and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were top-notch. We did find the furniture a bit outdated, especially the chairs in the living room, which werent very comfy. No Wi-Fi was a bit of a pain and signal was patchy, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. Jacks restaurant is a must-visit too!"
Tommy - Nov 2023
"Beautiful scenery and a fantastic spot for a getaway. The only downside was the fridge drawer, but overall, great value!"
Sam - Nov 2023
"We booked a stay at this lodge and initially got the keys, but then found out the place wasnt quite ready, so we had to move to a different lodge. The first alternative was a tiny pod with kids beds, which obviously wouldnt work for our 15 and 19-year-olds, so we asked to move somewhere else. Luckily, we ended up in an XL lodge that wasnt being rented out at the time because it was under renovation and didnt have a hot tub. We stayed there for one night before finally settling into a lodge with two rooms, a hot tub and a spacious living area. The park itself has great facilities on paper, but we found the Thai restaurant and Jacks restaurant to be pretty expensive. The cafe was closed when we wanted to use it and the enchanted forest just sat there unused, which was a bit disappointing. Still, every staff member we encountered was friendly and really helpful, even if they werent always sure about everything. Overall, we had a good time - lots to do nearby and the woodlands and lakes are stunning. Wed probably go back!"

"We recently stayed at Woodlake Parks for the first time, booking the Ash Parkside lodge with a hot tub. Although our check-in at 5pm was a bit later than planned, once we arrived, we were quite pleased with the place. The lodge was easy to find and close to the main car park and reception, which was handy since my mum has limited mobility and having a parking spot right beside the lodge made things much easier. The inside was clean and felt quite cosy and the hot tub was fully functional, which we loved. Beds were comfy for a short stay, but we did find the seating area a bit disappointing; the chairs could do with a proper clean and upgrade, especially since one had a strange smell. There was some building work happening nearby for new lodges near the enchanted forest, but honestly, we couldn't hear a thing from inside. If we had to suggest improvements, it would be to include towels, an iron and a hairdryer as standard in all lodges, or at least have some available to borrow or rent. Also, a little guidance or a site map during check-in would have been helpful, especially with check-out instructions like emptying bins or returning towels. A welcome note inside the lodge with this info would be a nice touch. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing stay and appreciated how welcoming the staff were-definitely a place wed consider returning to!"

Attractions Near Woodlakes Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Woodlakes Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 23 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 24 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
National Horse Racing Museum - CB8 8JL
about 27 Miles
This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing.  You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits.  New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children.  Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round.  One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October.  Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 30 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 31 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Ickworth House, Park & Gardens - IP29 5QE
about 31 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 34 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 35 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 38 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
