Athelington Hall Farm Lodges Reviews

"We recently stayed here for some much-needed downtime and honestly, it was just what we needed. The views are stunning and the hot tub on the decking was perfect after a long day. The lodge itself was really lovely - everything we wanted and more. The little touches like the sauna in the bathroom made it feel extra special. The staff were friendly and super helpful; Sarah especially went above and beyond. We couldve easily stayed longer, definitely a place to revisit!"
Emma - Jan 2025
"Really enjoyed the peaceful setting and how well the cabin was equipped."
Oliver - Jan 2025
"Really disappointed, same sewage smell issue again, sadly."
Lisa Carter - Jan 2025
"Relaxing, good vibes"

"Our Athelington Hall Farm Lodges review: We had an amazing stay! The place was spotless and the staff genuinely friendly. The hot tub was a real treat and the kids adored the game room. We enjoyed long countryside walks with the dog. Definitely coming back next year!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We recently stayed at this place and honestly, it was pretty lovely. Everything matched the description perfectly and we didnt find anything missing. Nice little surprises like coffee, tea and biscuits were a nice touch! The cleaning supplies under the sink, including dishwasher tablets, were super handy. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfy-definitely the highlight, honestly. The TV had all the apps we use at home, so it was really easy to settle in and relax. The games room for the kids was a big plus, with plenty to keep them entertained for hours. We did have a bit of trouble with noisy neighbours in a nearby cabin, but the staff responded quickly and even gave us free BBQ rental to make up for it, which was really thoughtful. A couple of suggestions from us-more fly papers or electric fly swats would help, especially since the flies were pretty bad even in October. Also, having another TV in the bedroom would be great for families. Lastly, a bit of dusting on the wooden ceilings and cobweb removal would make it perfect. Overall, wed definitely come back, we had a smooth and enjoyable stay. Thanks again!"
Alex Morgan - Oct 2024

Emma - Sep 2024
"The Lodge was spotlessly clean and felt really well maintained. All the furnishings were high quality and it had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Honestly, it was just like a cosy home away from home!"
Alex - Aug 2024
"Comfortable lodge with all the amenities, including a surprisingly lovely bathroom sauna."
Emma Carter - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotless, comfy and well-equipped throughout."
Emma - May 2024
"We recently stayed at the Hornbeam Log Cabin, a lovely two-bedroom lodge with a hot tub and honestly, it was a pretty great experience. From the moment we booked, the communication was spot on, making everything smooth when we arrived - no fuss at all getting into the lodge. Inside, it was really clean and spacious enough for us to relax comfortably. The place had everything we needed, which was a big plus. Admittedly, a few areas could do with a bit of TLC - like some of the cupboard edges that looked a bit worn - but honestly, it didnt detract from our stay. The shower was decent, though the water pressure played up now and then, but it was still perfectly fine. We loved the internet and TV set-up and the hot tub was definitely a highlight - always spotless and ready for us each morning. Oh and wed definitely recommend checking out Emmerdale Food Farm Store in Westleton Road, Saxmundham - their meats are top notch. Wed happily return - had a really lovely few days. Probably a solid 4.5 out of 5 from us!"
Alexandra - May 2024
"Weve just got back from a lovely week away at this place and honestly, it was just what we needed. The cabin we stayed in was even better than the photos suggest - its so cosy and spacious and the inside feels really luxurious. We rented a BBQ which was already set up for us when we arrived, such a nice touch! We loved the contactless check-in; it was the first time weve experienced that and it worked perfectly. Even though theres no one there to greet you in person, the hosts are super accessible if you need anything. They made sure the hot tub was cleaned daily and if you happened to be in it when they came, theyd just come back later - no bother at all. The place was spotless and the bed was sooo comfy, with feather pillows that made sleeping a real treat. One of the best parts was the countryside - miles of peaceful fields and rolling hills, such a contrast to our busy town life. We even spotted a pheasant wandering around, acting like he owns the place - quite funny! The walks around the farm are simply stunning, with views that take your breath away. The reception staff at the shop was lovely - genuinely friendly and warm, which added to the relaxed vibe. We stayed in the Hazel cabin, which was perfect for privacy, thanks to the tall trees and bushes around it, especially when we were in the hot tub. If youre after a break to reconnect with nature and just unwind, this is definitely the spot. You can hear tractors, pheasants and pigs - its quite nice actually. One evening, we ordered Suffolk wild flour pizza and wow, theyre incredible! We also appreciated the email from the owners keeping us in the loop about the delivery and menu options. Were already planning to come back - this time with the extended family in tow!"
Emma - May 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back!"
Emily - May 2024
"We had a lovely, relaxing time. The hot-tub and sauna really added to the experience. Brilliant!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at Athelington Hall. The Lodge was spotless and had all the essentials we could ask for. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! It's such a peaceful spot, wed happily return for another relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay overall. The lodge was in a lovely location and the hot tub was a real highlight-once it was warm enough! It was a bit frustrating not to use it right away, but we underst and it needs cleaning. Maybe they could have some board games in the game room to borrow, that would be a nice touch. Looking forward to coming back in May!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We think the place is really well looked after for its age. Water pressure issue was sorted quickly, so no complaints at all. Would visit again!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was beautiful and well-kept. Great communication and directions made everything easy. Would definitely come back!"
Sarah - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely stay! The facilities are top-notch and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Only downside was the bedroom and bathroom got quite chilly overnight."
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We had such a great weekend here! The beds were super comfy, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The living space was huge and really welcoming. The sauna and hot tub were a lovely touch. Definitely coming back soon!"

Emma Roberts - Dec 2023
"Very calming experience"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We loved our stay here! The place is really well thought out, with a lovely hot tub and sauna to unwind in. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed, plus loads of cups and mugs. We especially appreciated the free tea and milk after a bit of a hangover from too much wine! The Chinese takeaway nearby is fantastic - huge portions and they know exactly where theyre going. The info leaflets were a real help too. Definitely recommend!"
Amelia - Nov 2023
"Perfect for a peaceful escape, this place really hits the spot for relaxation. Highly recommend it!"
Jessie - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed the peaceful vibe"
Emma - Nov 2023

James - May 2022
"Really enjoyed our stay here! The lodge had everything we needed and the hot tub was such a lovely bonus. Peaceful surroundings made it perfect."
Sarah - May 2022
"We loved the lodge! Super comfy and roomy, with everything we needed. The hot tub was definitely the highlight-absolutely blissful!"
Emma - May 2022
"The lodge had everything we needed and out of all the holidays we’ve had this was by far the cleanest. Normally we find ourselves having to give it a once over with cleaning products but not this place. Location was fantastic for us. We had no intentions of going out for days as we were quite local anyway plus we had covid so wanted 5 days to chill and the peace and quiet was lovely as well as the private hot tub which was checked on daily. The staff let you get on with it, they even provide keysafes to let yourselves in, yet they are always on hand to help if needed. Regular communication via email was sent throughout our stay just to make sure everything was perfect. There are some lively walks we went on too. Just one criticism would be there isn’t a lot to do for young children or families, they have a games room but this isn’t state or the art but if you’re looking to just relax and get away from it all then we can’t fault it. We will return and recommend 10/10"
Matt - Jul 2022

"Perfect getaway, the lodge was spotless, it was peaceful and generally a fantastic break away. Only problem is very rural you have to drive to get to anything but if you just want to stay in all week then it’s perfect for you. 100% would book again!"

"Excellent property had everything we needed. Spotless, would definitely recommend"

Africa Alive - NR33 7TF

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 22 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 30 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
