Where's Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa?
Sheila, Luton
Date of stay: 22nd September 2018
A few bits of decor in need of attention e.g veneer on doors lifting, kitchen floor covering buckled but otherwise very good.
Sharon, Nottingham

Date of stay: 7th September 2018
Beautiful lodge and hot tub.

Only downside was the decking area was not very private.

Chocolates were a lovely touch!

Highly recommended!
Nicole, Sutton Coldfield
Date of stay: 3rd September 2018
Lodge - absolutely lovely! It's one of the best we've stayed in. We stayed in No 6 which is overlooking the fishing lake and you can watch the sunset....just lovely. The lodge itself is very modern and contemporary. All electric easy to use. Bath robes and slippers for the adults. Lovely fluffy towels and small toiletries. The beds were so comfy - Hynose mattress which are the same ones a Premier Inn - great night sleep! There was also a box of chocolates in the fridge for us - nice touch! Also SKY box ( with movies), which the kids loved. The park was very quiet, which was lovely and restful. If we had invited friends over (visitors allowed from 10am to 10pm) we may have stood out a little! There is a communal BBQ area - again nice touch. We didn't use it as we were too busy chilling in the hot tub! Park is immaculate.
Avril, Newcastle
Date of stay: 1st September 2018

Date of stay: 13th August 2018
Would definitely recommended it. I was slightly worried as people had varying opinions on the website but it was perfect and absolutely worth every penny.
Date of stay: 11th August 2018
Had lodge no.1, location right next to reception car park with another lodge behind it, so not the best location on the park. Lodge was clean and tidy and facilities were excellent - dishwasher, washing machine, 2 bathrooms, Wi-Fi, Sky including movies & sport. Communal barbecue, picnic tables and hammocks just outside. Hot tub clean and large enough for us (2 adults, 2 kids) and was shielded behind a high fence for privacy. Would come again.
Date of stay: 11th August 2018
Loved the lodge. Bit tired decor but still homey. Decking and fencing need treating. Beds very comfy and great sky tv!! Nothing to do onsite but fab for the chill out we wanted it for..
Date of stay: 11th August 2018
We had a lovely holiday. We we're lucky and got a good deal almost half price! No wifi though

Emma, Milton Keynes
Date of stay: 3rd June 2018
Villa was great! Very tidy, comfortable beds and nice decking space to socialise and use the hot tub.
Only a couple of things that I would advise if you are booking -

Unless you have a old iPhone you can not connect to the speakers in the villa for music although it does have a phono to phono connection so would be worth you make sure you have one handy to use.

The onsite spa person didn't return any calls made to her to book appointments and we even complained to staff on site about this but because she was independent to the park there is little they can do. We would have liked to take the option of treatments but because of the lack of courtesy to return numerous calls and voicemails, this didn't happen.

The hot tub and decking area isnt as private as what we expected from the pictures so you have to be very mindful of how loud you are being in order to not disturb people even in the day time. Would be nice to have some bamboo fencing just to give a more enclosed and private feel to the decking area.

Overall its a great break to just disconnect from the world in lovely surroundings.
Dianna, Woburn Green

very nice stay here.
Shame we were all unwell on the visit, but didn't affect how beautiful these apartments are.
was a lovely 4 night break.
great value for what we paid.
beds were very comfy better than i expected. I am very fussy.
hot tub was clean and a reasonable size for us.
only thing I would suggest is a gate at the top of stairs for the decking so kids can't excape. or fall down them.
but a great break none the less.
:-) will stay again.

The lodge was clean and comfortable and we had a good break. We loved the hot tub. There wasn't a lot for the kids to do on the grounds, a play area would have been good. Location wise there isn't much to do around other than Conkers but overall it was a great experience.

Date of stay: 24th June 2017
We had a lovely stay. The lodge itself surpassed our expectations, particularly the facilities in the kitchen that you take for granted. Pleasantly Overwhelmed at the wine and chocolates left out for us and the bathroom toiletries. The jets in the hot tub were weak which was disappointing however. Overall great value for money.
Bernard, Leicester
Date of stay: 16th June 2017
The lodge was lovely, spacious and very clean.
Bedrooms good size and very accomodating for clothes and accessories (makeup etc...)
Only issue we had were small ware and tare problems.
Hand towel rail in the bathroom could not support a towel and the odd appliance did not work or needed replacing.
Kelly, Nottingham

Stephanie, Sunderland
Date of stay: 28th January 2017

ipod connectivity out-of-date!
Hot-tub was fab, and there was plenty of room for our family of 6.
Douglas, Huntingdon
Date of stay: 30th December 2016
The only fault was the wifi that didn't work all the time that we were there.
Helen, Derby
Date of stay: 30th December 2016
We stayed in Aspen lodge No. 10. The facilities, decor and furniture are superb. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We were surprised to find tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll supplied as well as every kitchen utensil you will ever need. There was also tea, coffee and sugar supplied which would last for a short stay. As we were a couple staying in a two bedroom lodge, we had the luxury of a bathroom each, which was great. As mentioned at booking the hot tub was not hot enough to go in on our first night but this was fine as we expected that. By the next morning the hot tub was at the right temperature and this was when it was freezing outside. We were struggling to find anything wrong with any aspect of our stay. One thing to note is that the in lodge sound system works on the old style iPod connection, however there is an aux port. Overall we had such a fantastic, relaxing time that we have booked to stay again in a few weeks. It really is that good.
Michael, Kidderminster
Date of stay: 11th December 2016

Date of stay: 9th December 2016
This lodge has to be the best one my self and my girlfriend have stayed in, we felt like posh snobs haha, honestly the lodge we stayed in, which was the Altham Lodge, superb lodge.. like a posh flat, real nice, we got it at a bargain price, because i know originally it's a lil more expensive, but yes.. really really nice, not far from local stuff to do and see, right next to a lake, super quiet, and beautiful mornings.. and we went in December 2016 for my birthday week, so yeah.. really nice in the hottub with the coldish weather haha
Kara, Moira
Date of stay: 2nd December 2016
Super lodge, completely upto date with all mod cons etc. Very glamerous the altham lodge was in my opinion. :)
Abbi, Birmingham
Date of stay: 29th November 2016
Lovely stay in Ashby Woulds Lodges. We had a 2 bedroom lodge with 2 double beds (two singles pushed together). Lovely, peaceful stay on a quiet setting, free wine and chocolates, and a hot tub! Would recommend highly.

Only downsides were the bath unfortunately did not work, and some of the glasses were dirty on arrival but the dishwasher soon sorted that out for us.

Location is a little out of the way but that's what we asked for.
Katina, Harrogate

Date of stay: 31st October 2016
This site doesn't get as much praise as it should. Me and my partner booked on for three nights in the aspen lodge. The lodge was immaculate with everything you need to cook and clean up after yourself. The surroundings where great. A bottle of wine and chocolates where left for our arrival along with plenty of leaflets for local places to go and take always. The hot tub was checked every morning, cleaned and topped up. The staff where at hand is you needed to speak to them. We will be back in the new year for our next stay. Thank you for a great stay!

We stayed for 4 days during school holidays and used as a base for going to thomas land. The accommodation was fantastic, well furnished, all mod cons finished to a high standard. The view from the lodge was beautiful , lots of trees, fields and wildlife (ducks, swans, rabbits and other small birds). A great place to stay

Date of stay: 25th January 2016
The lodge absolutely made the holiday - it was really luxurious with great decor and facilities such as the deep bath and inbuilt kitchen. The pictures make it look slightly more remote and private than it was - we had lodges behind and next to us but as the lodge has a hot-tub which is drop down it is still very private. The view from the lodge is very nice looking over the canals.

The lodge was lovely it exceeded our expectations having everything you need it was spotlessly clean. The towels and bed linen were of good quality.
The heating was great and heated the lodge quickly.
The hot tub was not as private as i imagined it would be but it was lovelybut they need plastic wine glasses to use when in the tub.
One BIG disappointment was the fact that the lodged are so close together, our first night (of three) we had no trouble but on the second night our "neighbours" in the next lodge thought it was a great idea to get in their hot tub at 12:20am with their music blaring and themselves being very loud. My hubby spoke to them about this and they did turn music off but the noise continued until appx 1:30am my hubby wasn't able to get to sleep until after then and i ended up in the spare room, fair to say we were not happy and felt that this was disrespectful behaviour. I wanted to complain that night but did not know how to. The following night (our last) a similar thing happened with the same people again so we decided at 12am to leave and head home which we did. This site promotes a minimum noise policy this is displayed by the hot tub area and in the information folder in the lodge but for us it was far from minimum noise and it would have been nice to complain at the time about this but no information on how to do this after the office is closed. Don't get me wrong i like to have fun like all the rest but when it comes to a certain time you should be respectful to other people around you.

Date of stay: 30th October 2015
Overall the lodge was very nice. Couple of small issues with a light fitting in the kitchen that constantly flicked on and off. Our tv in the bedroom didn't work on arrival but this was sorted after making the staff known. A little let down with the setting as we felt the description was a bit misleading.

Date of stay: 14th September 2015
The Aspen Lodge really raises the bar in terms of lodge accommodation. The decor and fittings and equipment were of a high standard. It was the little things that made a difference to us - providing tea, coffee, liquid soap, tea towels, etc made it have a hotel feel rather than self catering. The wine and chocolates were a thoughtful, unexpected bonus.
Glen, Essex
Date of stay: 4th September 2015
Really lovely place, the lodges are very well equipped and maintained. Great place for couples, not far from Alton Towers or Drayton Manor. Hot tub was lovely and clean, they did empty it early on the morning of departure but that is because they need to clean and prepare it for the next guests and get it up to temperature as they did for you so it's fair. Would return, lovely setting and peaceful.

Date of stay: 1st August 2015
We had a lovely stay we had bad limescale in our kettle which we noticed as soon as we arrived sadly office was shut until Mon so we had to boil water in a pot until then as we had a 3 month old baby that needed clean water. Office helpful and changed kettle immediately. We also had a problem with washing machine that came up with F02 error message half way through every cicle so not rinsing clothes properly which left clothes not fully clean and soaking which was pain with a baby. Office said the machines weren't best as they are washer dryers. Apart from that we had no complaints what so ever and enjoyed our stay.
Russell, Stockton-on-tees
Date of stay: 27th July 2015
Accommodation is very good. Our hot tub was fairly private but others need some fencing around to make them more private.
Christopher, Durham
Date of stay: 20th July 2015
Everything there that you would want. Lovely touch to have the wine and chocolates on arrival. The sound system was great being able to dock the phone/ipads to get music where you wanted it. (you will need a lead with 3.5 jack plugs on both ends to use this) The washer/dryer was handy when drying towels when coming out of the hot tub. The only problem we had was the tv in the bedroom which was not good.

Kathleen, Sheffield
Date of stay: 16th March 2015
The only think I would make as a small critisism about is that there is no roof over the hot tub. Fortunatley it was fine whilst we were there but would imagine if it was raining then this would spoil the enjoyment. Other venues we have stayed at with hot tubs have had roofs over them. Also there is a big gap in the fencing around the hot tub which the wind gusted through, we improvised by putting a blanket we had in the car over it to act as a wind break.
Michael, West Sussex
Date of stay: 13th March 2015
The only criticism I would have is that in the bedroom the curtains cover the French doors but there are two windows that have wooden blinds which do not block out the park lighting which is outside the lodge so ideally curtains need to be put in place.

Hot tub not available the first night of your stay due to having a water change, this was disappointing but at least you know the hot tub is clean
there is a £150 bond payable at the beginning of your stay to the owners

Entry to the park is by a code, which is great once you are booked in, when you get there you have to phone park for the entry code number

We would stay again, very relaxing break

The lodge was luxurious. Beautiful furniture and fittings. Was lovely to have dish washer tablets supplied as well as washing up liquid, tea bags, coffee sachets and sugar plus bathroom toiletries. The complimentary chocolates and bottle of wine was a lovely thank you for chosing their luxury lodge. I definately made the right choice by booking a canal view lodge as the hot tub is sunken into the decking and the view is very peaceful.

It was so quiet and didn't see anyone for the whole week! (Just how we like it) the owner was so nice too! The zoo was nearby so we had a visit there and that was great. Id definitely be returning.

Beautiful lodge. Had a lovely peaceful weekend. My only complaint was the fact that the hot tub was emptied early in the morning of our leave date, long before our departure. Date of stay: 7th November 2014
The lodge was beautiful and well equipped. We did find a dirty dish in the cupboard which had been overlooked but it wasn't a major problem as we put it in the dishwasher. We had lovely complimentary soft robes which were very handy for after the hot tub! The hot tub was great and it is the only place we have stayed in where they change the water after every guest.
Date of stay: 3rd November 2014
Only concern was the £150 taken from credit card for each lodge (I booked two) just in case we vandalised them - understand the concept but £150 does seem excessive, we were assured on arrival that no charge would be made if we "just broke a glass" which unfortunately I did on the last morning only to find that the lady in charge asked me for £10 to replace a run of the mill (though good size!) wine glass, I reiterated what she had said on arrival and she backed down - it remains to be seen whether anything appears on my credit card bill - I shall certainly be contacting you again if this happens. Otherwise excellent lodges and hot tubs

Altham Lodge was amazing. The front room was so cosy with the fire and also, the TV had every channel on sky so was great to watch movies. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower so you had the choice of either. The kitchen came with everything we could possibly need. Also , the Jacuzzi was lovely and we could use this whenever we wanted to.

Samantha, Northumberland
Date of stay: 13th July 2014
The lodge was lovely, full size kitchen, caffitere, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, shower was amazing, outside area brilliant, hot tub fantastic. IPod deck and speakers added extra. The only thing I would say it's we find this is actually pretty standard in the lodges we go to and the lodge I felt was actually over priced, given we booked it 12hrs before we went I would have expected a better deal. We do go to lodges of this standard and better for cheaper quite often, we chose this one as it was in the location near Birmingham where we need to be (nothing special about b.ham either) other wise we would have went to black hall lodges, far superior, sauna, sleeps 6 was fifty pound cheaper that week ends, and lodges in Northumberland and the lake district, all the same standard for a hundred pounds cheaper. We probably won't return as can go else where cheaper. Still lovely though. . And the added extras like coffee dishwasher tablets, tea towels we don't usual get, but not worth the extra money.

These deluxe lodges are exactly what they say on the tin.
Everything was perfect and you wanted for nothing.
Tastefully decorated, Sky TV and Wi-Fi all included if you need it. Plus some nice other touches - through lodge sound system. hot Tub sunken into decking. Beautiful views. Big smiles from all the family.
Date of stay: 6th June 2014
Lodges are beautiful. Fully equipped to help you enjoy your holiday! Decor is very modern, lodges are very clean and the hot tub was fab! Our Hot tub had a surrounding fence so you have a little privacy. My only suggestion for tiny improvement would be maybe a gazebo or cover to attach to the fence for when it is raining. We had one day of awful rain and didn't fancy sitting in the hot tub in the rain. this is the only room for improvement so all in all, amazing!
Date of stay: 2nd June 2014

The lodge was so clean and tidy and had a really nice feel to it, the furniture and appliances were really nice and they had some toiletries that you could use too. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and a box of chocolates which was a lovely surprise. I wish we was back there now.

Twin bedrooms were very very small. Not much room to move in between rooms. It would have been better to have a double in one of the rooms instead of twins. Could have done with hooks on bedroom doors and more shelf space in bathrooms. The staff at Ashby Would were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

Nobody thought that the beds were comfortable. Our en suite had stains around the towel rail and the glass shelf was loose on the wall.

Fantastic lodge loved the hot tub and the inside of the lodge only down side was the landscaping being incomplete. Still the best accommodation of its type and we will definitely be back

Our lodge was excellent. The wine and chocolates were an excellent welcome. The lady that showed us to our lodge made us feel very welcome.
The landscaping outside our hot tub was a disappointment as it has not been finished and was somewhat of a mud pile.

Again, everything was perfect with the lodge. A great getaway for couples. Clean and cosy. The lodge was pristine, the appliances were fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised by how perfect the lodge was. However as I mentioned before, it is not very private. There are lots of passers by, and whilst your trying to relax in the hot tub, it does begin to irritate you.

Absolutely beautiful lodge. Very well equipped and comfortable. Looking over lakes so not overlooked at the back. Hot tub was a lovely addition. Quiet site with plenty of places to visit nearby.
Great lodge - very good spec and great views
It’s was amazing definitely coming here again everyone is welcoming and we had our own privacy too yes very well recommended.
We were 2 couples on a long weekend break, the lodge was lovely,it was clean and well presented, there was all the basics we needed to get us started from tea and coffee to toilet roll, Sky tv,wifi, the hot tub was brilliant, We will certainly go again.
The manager could not do enough for us. The lodge was cosy and comfortable and the hot tub was perfect overlooking the canal and lovely views.😃
Overall our stay was thoroughly enjoyable and we would definitely stay again, my only negative would be that the tv kept going off, sky kept loosing reception and the dvd and tv remotes didn’t work Some of the kitchen utensils were tired and could do with replacing Other than that we would definitely stay again Thank you so much
Lovely stay at the lodges. Very clean and well maintained. A little disappointed that the hot tub was not warm enough to use on the Friday but we made the most of it on the other two days stay.
We had such a lovely time here as a family. The lodge was lovely and clean. The site was well looked after and there was plenty of things to do around the area.
Really enjoyed the holiday at Altham Lodge, private hot tub and gorgeous decor in the lodge. Would return!
A great get away from everything kind of stay. Nothing for kids to do other than hot tub so take plenty of things to entertain them. Location is great for exploring the local area..
Fab break away! However there’s not much to do around the site which Is close! And the staff weren’t always around so we found it hard to find them. But the lodge it’s self was really good ! It was fab
