Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa Reviews

Excellent weekend break, really good value for money!
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
No complaints couldnt fault anything. Will stay again and would highly recommend to friends and family
Vernon Fallon - Feb 2024
Had a lovely 2 night stay here had all the facilities we needed was impressed with the fact they had the full sky tv package in living room and bedroom for when we was relaxing before bed. My only criticism of the place is that you cant check in till 5pm and then have to be gone at 9am of day of leaving which made are stay extremely short and on first evening the hot tub wasnt very warm.
Nicole - Feb 2024
Nice lodge overlooking the water. Clean and comfortable, a little tired in places. Fine for what we needed it for which was just to relax and unwind.
Hannah - Feb 2024
Excellent great value will definitely stay again. Highly recommended
Griffin Fallon - Feb 2024
We had a lovely week at the lodge, with a lovely massage at the start
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Lodge was very comfortable, well equipped and clean. Hot tub was great and added bonus of slippers and robes.would definitely stay again
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
First off we would definitely visit again, but only if certain improvements were made. I have tried to list the positives and negatives below. Negatives: By far the biggest issue is the decking. I actually went through it next to the hot tub whilst in my swimshorts and nearly injured myself. The positive side was that after reporting it the onsite maintenance team who were very friendly came and made it safe straight away. Unfortunately the whole decking is in a bit of a sorry state and needs replacing. There were several unsafe areas that looked like they might collapse or could catch your feet because planks were raised. Other issues were that one of the sofas was completely knackered, the springs had gone so it was like sitting on the floor, and then the general fittings in the place needed a bit of a do over (the blind in one of the bathrooms for example was hanging off the wall and couldnt be adjusted up or down). Apart from the decking I would say they are all minor things though.Positives:The staff all seemed very friendly and the location is great, the views over the lake at the back were excellent. Its a relatively dark skies area so good for star gazing if you get a clear night. The hot tub was nice and toasty and cleaned daily, although a net to get rid of small bits of twig etc would have been nice. It wasn't warm until the following day after arrival and was emptied at about 8am on the day we left, so thats something to consider if on short stays. We stayed when it was freezing temperatures outside but the heating in the place was more than sufficient and kept us warm all week.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Enjoyed the weekend break in the lodge. The hot tub is a nice extra.
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
Brilliant place would definitely go again, brilliant value for money
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
This oak deluxe and holiday park was exactly what i wanted out of a relaxing weekend away. The interior of the cabin was very modern and beautiful and lovely to stay in. The staff were friendly with check in being very easy and smooth. However, we paid the money to stay in a a holiday park like this for mainly for the hot tub. Before hand, we were notified that hot tub may not be to optimum temperatures on the first night however this was freezing cold. We could not use it in any way. On the second day, we then went to use the hot tub and it was only at 35 degrees which was not even luke warm. We then complained and the lady at reception was lovely and reset it for us however she said this could take some time. After checking continuously for 6 hours it then said there was an error on the hot tub. We then could not use the hot tub until sunday so we only had one day where we can use it and between uses it took about 4-5 hours to reach 38 degrees. This was really disappointing as no compensation was offered or anything extra yet we had 2 out of our 3 days there unable to use the hot tub which is what we had paid for.
Maya - Jan 2024
Nice location and big lodge, pretty clean. Really rude receptionist on arrival, £150 deposit HAD to be made by physical card (wont accept contactless) and then the pending transaction didnt drop off my account for 6 days. TV didnt work on arrival, wrong instructions for thermostat in info pack, hot tub emptied at 8.10am on the morning we left meaning we couldnt use it on our last day.
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
Beautiful, clean well equipped cabin. Bath was big and spacious, rainfall shower was lovely and nice to get a selection of towels and robes.
Martin - Nov 2023
Amazing, hot tub Amazing, views Amazing, enjoyed it so much will be going back very soon ?
Jackie - Nov 2023
Highly recommend. Fantastic lodge, spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. Outstanding views, lovely and quiet, perfect for a relaxing weekend away. Only criticism would be the outside light didnt stay on long so if your having a long soak in the hot tub be prepared to do it via moonlight which also was very lovely. Monica at the spa was also amazing, definitely book in for a treatment! Will 100% return.
Deborah - Nov 2023
We had booked to stay in a three-bedroomed lodge, but when we arrived, we were given a two-bedroomed lodge which we wasnt told about. We were then given a three-bedroomed lodge which wasnt ready. The TVs and washing machine didnt work. The floor tiles were loose and the sofas were extremely worn. Having initially been told we couldnt stay in the lodge we should have been in, we were then moved into it. This wasnt much better. The patio doors wouldnt close properly, the TV didnt work and the lodge itself was fairly rundown. Not Deluxe as it should have been! The whole park was very rundown and not as it looks on the Hoseasons website. It was definitely not up to the standard it should have been. We spent two days on the phone to Hoseasons which resulted in some money back by way of compensation. We were extremely disappointed with this holiday and would definitely not recommend staying at this holiday park.
Alison - Nov 2023
Lovely lodge you could have been a million miles away so peaceful and quiet.
Tracy - Jul 2022
Nice 4 day break very relaxing.
Ronald - Jul 2022
We had a lovely break the lodge was spotlessly clean lovely soft towels provided, plenty of wardrobe space in both rooms. The beds were comfy. Hot tub checked and cleaned each day. My only negative is the kitchen knives were very blunt so struggled to even slice a tomato but that's the only negative I could state we had a lovely time and would definitely go back again.
Kerry - Jul 2022
Amazing pleace 100%
Katarzyna - Jul 2022
All enjoyed our stay but wished the spar had been up and running. Very good location and lodge was very well equipped and clean. Very good value for money.

Verified Guest - Jun 2022

Kelly - Jun 2022
Beautiful lodge in very peaceful setting. Nice walk along the lake/river. Hot tub was fab. Ian the staff was so helpful. A really lovely break.
Verified Guest - Jun 2022
This is our second stay at Ashby woulds and we would stay again. The local area is nice with things to do- it’s close enough to town for takeaways or dinner out and the lodges are in a nice private gated park which made us feel safe. It’s very laid back and quiet and the hot tub is lovely!
Lauren - May 2022
Holiday location great but lodge was poor did report issues but was apparently repair but still kept going wrong.
Scott - Apr 2022
Absolutely fantastic
Nicola - Apr 2022
Absolutely fantastic will be booking again! Lodge was unreal perfect couple get away
Katie - Apr 2022
We had the most amazing 4 nights. Ive never been on a lodge break before but i am sold, we had such a fab time. With a young child going away can be a stress but this lodge has EVERYTHING you need! It is like being at home away from home its just perfect. The price was very reasonable for everything you have. The whole lodge was spotless upon arrival and it was also really peaceful. We barely heard any noise from other lodges even though they are quite close together which was ideal.
Tallulah - Mar 2022
Holiday lodge wonderful.
Elaine - Mar 2022
Beds very comfortable and the place was spotless on arrival and had a lovely vibe. The only slightly negative was the sofas could do with replacing or having new foam in the seat cushions, but not a big deal and everything looked good.
Andrea - Mar 2022
Would recommend to everyone to try the experience
Raymond - Feb 2022
Really great place for families. We went as a couple and it was really good however the privacy issue was a problem. You have to keep all windows covered at all times or feel like someone is watching you. The lodges seem to be packed in together really tight and you can see everyone in their hot tub. This isn't an issue at night and it feels more private at this time. Overall it was an enjoyable holiday. There is loads of lovely walks near by and it is such a lovely area. We would come back again.
Matt - Jan 2022
The comfiest bed I have ever slept in!!
