Patterdale Lodges and Cottages

Written By

Patterdale is a stunning area of the Lake District, popular with holidaymakers looking for a getaway in beautiful surroundings.  Close to Kirkstone Pass it’s an ideal starting point for walks and trails to explore other areas too.  Patterdale is a small village at the foot of Ullswater which is widely regarded as the most beautiful lake in the area.

The village is a popular spot for walkers and day trippers with some of the best walks starting from this area.  St Patrick’s Church sits proudly in the village centre.

We’ve been checking out the best Patterdale Lodges and Cottages for your next Cumbria stay.  Some even have a hot tub, the perfect way to relax after a day exploring Patterdale and the surrounding areas.

Best Patterdale Lodges and Cottages

1. Hares Nook

This is a beautiful 4 Star Shepherd’s Hut with a private hot tub looking across the Fells.  You won’t get better than this when it comes to views!

Located on a working family-owned farm, you’ll be just a mile from gorgeous Patterdale and 2 miles from Glenridding at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass.  For a bite to eat there is a village pub around 1.5 miles away where you can also enjoy a good selection of Ales.  Ullswater Lake can be reached within 2 miles to the North – a perfect destination for watersports, a picnic, or a boat ride.

The accommodation itself is both romantic and charming.  With an open-plan layout, the space has been well thought out and there is everything you need to enjoy your stay.

The main living space features a raised double bed, a dining area, Smart TV, and a cute, bijou well-equipped kitchen.  Why not rustle up a romantic meal or even make a nice little picnic to take out for the day!  Just off the main living space there is a bathroom with shower.

The French doors let in all the light and look out over the magnificent countryside.

Outside the hut, you will find a private hot tub with a seating area overlooking the fells – a most delightful space to kick back with a coffee or glass of wine.

This property sleeps 2 with one open-plan bedroom and one bathroom.  Sorry pets are not permitted at Hares Nook.

A recent guest at Hares Nook said, “we loved our stay at Hares Nook. Super cosy accommodation, furnished beautifully with lots of nice details inside and out. Hot tub was great. The location is fantastic, and a perfect base for local walks. Highly recommended”.
