Ream Hills Holiday Park

Just four miles from Blackpool and with beautiful lakeside views, Ream Hills Holiday Park offers comfortable lodge accommodation. You can even stay in a professionally converted 1982 Lynx helicopter! Gorgeous landscapes, lovely towns and beaches and the thrills and spills of Blackpool Pleasure Beach all combine to make this a family holiday to remember!

As well as The Greedy Goose café, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in Weeton. Directly adjacent is the Blackpool Wakepark where you can try out wakeboarding, stand-up paddle boarding and open water swimming with a fully trained instructor. The beaches at Lytham St Anne's are quiet and sandy, perfect for relaxing.

We love the Zulu 676 helicopter which has been converted into the quirkiest of places to stay! It sleeps up to four people - two in a custom made double bunk in the tail and two in a twin pull-out bunk in the living area. It has fancy LED lighting, a mini-fridge and microwave, plus a flat screen TV. There's even a large verandah with garden table and chairs.  For beautiful lodges with hot tubs then opt for the Lake View 4 or the Lake View 6.  We also love the Tower View 4 Lodge which is a real log lodge with decking, hot tub and lovely views of the lake.

Head to Blackpool to see the annual illuminations, complete with lasers, neon and strobe lights - or enjoy the water slides, lazy river and the wave machine at Sandcastle Water Park.

As we were on end may have been better if we had a little more seclusion for hot tub as all other lodges could see us and perhaps more coverage on the right also as getting in and out of hot tub you are literally in front of the car park and playground.
Otherwise lodge itself was lovely

Our lodge was fabulous. Looked brand new, considering it wasn't its first season. The location of the lodge on the park couldn't have been better. The view from the deck was lovely. We shared with 2 mums and the space in the lodge was great, perfect layout. Everything was supplied that you could need. There was a fabulous welcome pack awaiting our arrival. Fab. Date of stay: 3rd January 2016
Beautiful lodge and a fantastic get away for my self, my partner and our four friends aged between 24-29 for new year. Blackpool is about a 10 minute drive (recommend Blackpool zoo what ever age you may be-we loved it). Massive Tesco is a 5 minute drive and even a Toby carvery to . Back to the lodge... Everything Brand new, extremely clean, beautiful decor and an hot tub upon beautiful decking. We would of appreciated having a Hoover in the lodge, staying for four nights the crumbs were appearing. The hot tub could of had a shelter over the top- due to It raining our intier stay... But this didn't stop us. We would all 100% reccomened Ferndown Lodge and would return in the summer months so we could enjoy the outdoor surrounding area more. Thank you!
Michael, Keighley

Michael
Only thing I can say bad about this holiday was the WiFi wasn't very good could not log on
Steven
We stayed here in a lakeview 6 lodge for easter half term. Lodge was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Even with bad weather we still enjoyed our stay here. The hot tub on the large well maintained deck with great views was fab. We used it several times and was big enough for all 5 of us together. The Lady on reception was very welcoming, friendly and professional and was happy to help whenever asked. We were close enough to Blackpool seafront to be able to enjoy the facilities there such as, Madame taussads, sealife centre and the Blackpool pleasure beach. There are two local supermarkets (morrisons and aldi) a short drive away which is handy. We cooked meals several times during our stay as the kitchen was well equiped for us to be able to do so. They even provided a welcome pack with tea, coffee, sugar, cleaning cloth, sponge, dishwasher tabs, bin liners, kitchen and toilet roll which was great to get you settled. They even provided all the towels, hot tub towels and a hairdryer. We would recommend this lodge and will be returning. Will be even better in the summer when the watersports are happening.
Abi

Fun Days Out near Ream Hills Holiday Park

about 17 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

about 28 Miles
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.

St Winefride's Well in Flintshire is described at one of the 7 wonders of Wales and is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Legend has it that the well first erupted at the spot where Caradog cut off the nuns head with his sword. The shrine was then erected in her memory in the first decade of the sixteenth century and remains one of the holiest places in Wales. The stunning temple and well attract visitors from all over the world. Water can be drawn from the spring basin within the crypt and is thought to be lucky.
