Set in a wonderful rural and scenic location, The Pond holiday park looks out to the rolling hills of Dumfries and Galloway. Offering stunning countryside views teeming with wildlife, The Pond Lodges boasts some of the most spectacular and renowned scenery Scotland has to offer.
Each accommodation has been lovingly presented with comfort in mind. The well-appointed open-plan studio lodge has a well-equipped kitchenette with breakfast bar and a comfortable king size bed with en-suite bathroom, leading out on to covered decking with outdoor seating area providing the perfect place to relax and unwind. For the extra romantic touch, a freshly prepared breakfast hamper can be delivered for the morning.
The Pond Lodges is also close to the picturesque towns of Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, as well as historical attractions. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling, fishing or simply pampering yourself, there is something for everyone at The Pond Holiday Park to enjoy. The park can even arrange pony trekking on-site for the more adventurous at an additional cost.

"We stayed in the birch lodge and it was overall really good. It had everything you needed inside etc and had seating outside along with the hot tub. Only thing I would be critical with is the hot tub not being covered. We had really nice weather on the first night we were there and got full use of the hot tub but the second night we had terrible rain, resulting in us using the hot tub cover as shelter. I think it would be good investment to build covers over the hot tubs as we noticed the other 2 lodges didnt use theirs due to the weather"

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look". Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project. The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish! Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
