Heads of Ayr Holiday Park Reviews

"The views and hot tub made our stay memorable."
Emily - Mar 2025
"We had a lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is adorable, with charming half-timbered details and a comfy bed that ensured we slept well. The bathroom's shower is powerful and the cosy kitchen made it easy to relax. Parking right next to the cottage is a real bonus. Plus, the location is perfect for walks around Thaxted and exploring nearby villages with their quaint houses and windmills. Great spot!"
Oliver - Mar 2025
"We absolutely loved our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The warmth of the welcome made us feel right at home. Truly lovely owners too!"
Isabelle - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely kind and really went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself is a charming little gem, with a cosy vibe and a fantastic shower-definitely a highlight! Parking was a breeze, right outside the door, which was really handy. The place was spotless, well-heated and perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed some great walks nearby, exploring Thaxteds pretty streets and windmill. Would definitely recommend!"
Charlie - Jan 2025
"Our Heads of Ayr Holiday Park review: We loved the cottage! Its perfectly tucked away, so peaceful but still near local shops and essentials. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept everything nice and warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel super welcome. Cant wait to return soon!"
Martin - Dec 2024
"We had such a lovely weekend here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. Our dogs totally loved the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna even came home with a strained tail from wagging so much! Honestly, happy pups, happy us. Well be coming back for sure!"
Tommy - Dec 2024
"The hot tubs lighting was pretty poor - only one dim outside light, so we had to keep the toilet light on just to see! Still, overall, it was a relaxing stay, just a bit let down by the lighting situation. Wouldnt mind returning, though."
James - Nov 2024
"We stayed at this lovely cottage, loved the cosy log burner and hot tub. The hosts were so friendly and it was super peaceful. Hope to come back soon for longer!"
Lucy - Nov 2024
"We recently tried staying in a pod for the first time and honestly, it was great! Very tidy and snug, which we loved. The only tiny downside is if you're taller than 5ft9, you might feel a bit cramped on the downstairs bed, but overall, super comfortable. Well definitely come back!"
Emma Clarke - Nov 2024
"We absolutely loved this cosy cottage! The hot tub and log burner made it extra special. Hosts were lovely, very peaceful spot. Hope to come back soon!"
Olivia - Nov 2024
"We loved Jura Lodge! The inside was spotless and stunning. Honestly, one of the best family stays we've had. Definitely coming back!"
Alex - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot, set in a beautifully secluded area. The owners were super friendly and always there if we needed anything, but still kept that nice sense of privacy. The hot tub was just what we needed after a long day cycling around. The only thing to note is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn't bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be something to consider if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, a great find!"
Rajiv - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our visit, the fields were perfect for a relaxed walk with the dogs!"
Ellie - Aug 2024
"We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage had everything we needed, super well-equipped. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and even though its on a working farm, it felt peaceful and calm. A real gem!"
Claire - Aug 2024
"The cottage was lovely and really suited us, tucked away from busy areas. The hot tub was a real bonus! Owners were super helpful without being intrusive at all."
Paul - Jul 2024
"Nice holiday, everything went smoothly, no complaints at all."
Sam - Jul 2024
"The owners are genuinely lovely and super helpful, especially when the storm knocked out the power. The cottage was spotless, cosy and well-equipped. Our dog loved the secure garden and we really enjoyed the hot tub too!"
Lisa - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed the walk around the fields, dogs loved it and the place was lovely too."
Alexandra - Mar 2024
"We had a lovely weekend at the caravan, which was beautifully decorated and very comfortable beds! The staff were really helpful and quick to reply to emails, which made everything easy. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, though it was a bit lukewarm - itd be great if they could adjust the temp based on the weather. Also, on our last morning, staff started emptying the tub before we left, which was a tad early, but overall, we had an amazing time!"
Rachel Turner - Jan 2024
"The cottage is really charming and perfect for a peaceful escape. Just a heads up about the night-time planes since Stanstead is quite close. The hot tubs a real treat!"
Jessica - Dec 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The setting is stunning and super private, which made it feel like a little escape. The owners are lovely and always on hand if you need anything, but its quiet enough not to feel intrusive. The hot tub was a highlight after a long day of cycling-such a treat! The only thing to bear in mind is the noise from planes overhead since its right under Stansteds flight path. It took us a couple of hours to get used to, but it didnt ruin our trip at all. Will definitely come back!"
Ruthie Carter - Dec 2023
"We stayed here while working nearby. Its a lovely, peaceful spot. Would definitely come back for a proper visit when were free to explore!"
Sarah - Dec 2023
"We absolutely loved our stay here! The setting is stunning and really private, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The owners were super friendly and gave us just enough help without intruding. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day. One thing to note, the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much once we got used to it, but it might be a consideration if you're sensitive to sounds. Overall, a great place to unwind!"
Raj - Nov 2023
"We loved the cosy vibe of this cottage, perfect for a peaceful retreat. Its tucked away just enough to feel secluded but still near shops and cafes. The hot tub and underfloor heating in the bathroom were real highlights. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Cant wait to return!"
David - Nov 2023
"We stayed here recently and honestly, everything was just right. The hosts really go the extra mile, making us feel super welcome. The location is stunning, perfect for a relaxing break. Well definitely return! Absolutely loved it."
Sophie - Oct 2023
"Absolutely loved our stay! The owners really went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Highly recommend to everyone!"
Mark - Sep 2023
"We stayed in this place recently and honestly, its got everything you could ask for. The house was super cosy and warm, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was just lovely and the shower was really big too. The location is great - totally peaceful and perfect for dogs that hate fireworks. Dont worry about the flights overhead, didnt bother us at all. Thanks a lot!"
Harriet - Aug 2023
"The cottage was just lovely, with a cosy log burner and a hot tub that was perfect after a day exploring. Hosts were really friendly too. Hope to come back soon for a longer stay!"
Charlotte - Aug 2023
"The place was really lovely, perfect for a chilled getaway and our dog loved the secure garden!"
