The Pod Overlooking Dartmoor Reviews

Emma Clarke - Nov 2024
We had a fantastic time! The POD was just as described-compact, cosyand in a perfect spot with plenty of privacy. Everything we needed was thereand Steve was really helpful, offering some great local tips. Definitely planning to return, it was such a lovely stay!
Emma - Oct 2024
The staff were lovelyand the service really stood out. The place felt warm and inviting, making the whole experience enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon!
James - Oct 2024
Great experience, planning to revisit next year!
Emma - Sep 2024
Honestly, we had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The views were absolutely breathtakingand the owner was super friendly and helpful. The info folder he gave us was really useful too. The place itself was spotless, well-equippedand had a high standard of comfort. We enjoyed a relaxing week and would definitely return. My only tiny gripe is that I find the mattress a bit firm due to my fibromyalgia, but a bit of padding sorted it right out-didn’t spoil our holiday at all!
Emma - Sep 2024
We’ve stayed here twice now and each time, Steve makes us feel really welcome. The pod is perfect for a chilled-out stay - nice and private, with a comfortable, firm bed that we appreciated. The fire was a real bonus when the weather got chilly. It’s ideally situated for exploring Dartmoorand the facilities are simple but just right. Sure, there’s some road noise from the A38, but inside the pod, it’s barely noticeable. We love coming here to unwind and relax, it’s just what we needed!
James - Aug 2024
We had a fantastic stay from start to finish! Steve was super friendly and made everything easy. The pod was so cosy, with great views and just the right amount of privacy. The hot tub was definitely a highlight - perfect for unwinding. It’s a peaceful spot, ideal if you want a quiet breakand there are some lovely pubs nearby for a bit of local vibe. We’d definitely return, it really was a brilliant getaway!
Sam - Jul 2024
We really enjoyed the pod hot tub and the peaceful setting. Steve, the owner, was super helpful and friendly. There are plenty of beautiful walks nearbyand if you don’t mind driving, loads of fantastic restaurants and pubs to explore. It was exactly what we needed-so relaxing. We’ll definitely come back!
James - Jun 2024
We had a lovely stay! The POD was just right for two and offered stunning views. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The owners were fantastic, making everything smooth. Definitely would recommend this place!
James - May 2024
Really enjoyed our visit! The Pod offers perfect peace and quiet, just what we needed. The owner’s always around if you need anything, but we appreciated the privacy too. Our dog loved the secure garden-it was such a relief to see him happy and safe. Definitely recommend!
Emma - May 2024
Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back again soon!
Jamie - Apr 2024
We loved the location, perched right on the edge of the moors - perfect for days out exploring or relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. It’s also close enough to the beach and charming towns like Totnes and Brixham, which was handy. The area is full of fantastic country pubs, many welcoming to dogs, which was a big plus. The hosts couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, with great communication throughout. Thanks a lot for everything - we’ll definitely return!
Sarah - Apr 2024
The Pod was surprisingly spacious and super cosy, perfect for relaxing. The host was really friendly and made us feel at home. The hot tub was just what we needed, especially with the rain coming down on the Moor. A real gem, especially with our dog along!
Emma Roberts - Apr 2024
We had a lovely stay thanks to Mr and Mrs Haskell, who made us feel right at home. The pod was beautifully thought out, super cosy and warm, with no detail overlooked. The feather duvet and pillows were a real treatand the extra dressing gowns and towels for the hot tub were much appreciated. It honestly felt like a luxury hotel experience, just more relaxed. Highly recommended!
Laura - Mar 2024
Honestly, we had such a lovely time! The Pod feels like a little good place with stunning views all around. The log burner was a real highlight - so warm and inviting - and the hot tub was perfect for star gazing, definitely a highlight for us. The decor is really tasteful, Steve’s done a great job making it feel cosy and stylish. Plus, the location is fab - we explored loads and it’s all within a short drive. Thanks a bunch!!
Emma - Mar 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at The Pod! It’s super roomy and spotless. The hot tub was such a treat after a long day. There’s loads to explore nearby. Steve and his wife are fantastic hosts. We’ll definitely be returning soon! Thanks again!
Alex - Feb 2024
We stayed in the Pod for a couple of nights and honestly, it was lovely. The mornings with the sun shining in were perfectand the views over the hills really are stunning. When it rained, the fire made it super cosy. The private deck and hot tub are a real bonus. It’s spacious enough for longer stays tooand the owner is really friendly. Definitely a place we’d come back to for a weekend or more!
Sarah - Feb 2024
The place was fantastic, with a warm log burner and a cosy hot tub that made our week super relaxing. The host was really friendly and made everything feel special. We’d definitely come back!
Jamie - Feb 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at The Pod! The owners clearly put a lot of thought into making it special. The location was ideal for exploring the moorsand unwinding in the hot tub afterwards was just what we needed. Definitely coming back!
Emma J. - Feb 2024
We spent a week here and honestly, it was just what we needed. The hot tub was a highlight-used it daily, sometimes twice! The weather was pretty rainy, but it didn’t matter. We loved relaxing and being together. Definitely planning to return soon, it’s a lovely spot to unwind!
Emily Carter - Dec 2023
We loved the cosy pod, with stunning views of the rolling hills right from the bed. It’s tucked away on the owner’s land but feels totally secluded thanks to the screening. Parking was easy and close by, which was handy. The hot tub was a real treat-spotlessly clean and stayed hot. The place is spacious and well-equipped, but we did miss proper wine glasses; plastic ones just don’t cut it for good wine. Despite the wild weather, we had a lovely weekend. Would definitely return!
